From a Readers’ Favorite award—winning author and “queen of the family saga” (Aherman) comes The Parker Sisters a new spinoff series of the Married in Montana series. Twenty-four-year-old Naomi Parker is interning as a journalist. Until she stumbles onto a big story about a ruthless man and a destroyer of women. So, with two objectives in mind: be the best she can be and not let him see who she … see who she really is. Naomi is convinced she’ll uncover everything he’s been trying to hide. The only problem: the man she set her sights on isn’t anything as rumoured and what she believes him to be.
THE PARKER SISTERS
Thrill of the Chase (Taz)
The Dating Game (Ivy)
Play Hard to Get (Naomi)
What we Can’t Have (Mason)
Go Your Own Way (Scarlett)
more
Naomi Parker’s after the story of a lifetime, but she may be in over her head. When the man she’s after steps in and saves her, she may have to rethink her priorities; especially when her family weighs in on her foolhardy actions. Although there’s some bumps and bruises along the way, Naomi and Cameron begin to learn that trusting your heart is what’s truly important.
This is a sweet romance with a bit of angst and some hard lessons learned, including how not to make judgements without knowing all the facts. It’s a fast-paced roller coaster ride with a few twists and ups and downs that’ll keep you involved to the very end.
A great addition to this group of stories
This book is an excellent, enjoyable, entertaining read with great characters and romance.
Highly recommend.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Naomi is a reporter and can smell a story – a very good story. But she will have to go undercover. Unfortunately, she will have to look like a hooker while working as a waitress. The place is a stripper bar and owned by the gorgeous Cameron. He is the story. Corruption. Drugs. And more, but he sure looks so good. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
Another great addition to this series.
This is a review of the audiobook,
Overall – 5
Performance – 5
Story – 5
I’ve really been enjoying listening to The Parker Sisters series. Play Hard to Get is the third book in the series. While I think this could be read as a standalone, I believe that you will probably enjoy it more if you read the books in order.
About the narration: This is my second audiobook performed by Mary Jane Conlon and I loved her voice just as much this time as I did before. I tend to be hard on female narrators as I usually find their voices just not as pleasing to my ear as a male voice. Mary Jane Conlon is one of the three or four exceptions for me so far. Her phasing was perfect, the inflections in her voice match the text and she did a good job of differentiating between all of the character’s voices.
About the story: Naomi Parker is a journalist and she thinks she’s onto a big story. She goes “undercover” at a strip club as a waitress intending to get the dirt on the bar’s owner. While there is something about her that bothers him, Cameron Donnelly hires her anyway and when he learns the real reason she wanted a job he is furious. There is a lot more to the story but I don’t want to give everything away.
The Parker Sisters series has all of the close-knit family elements that I’ve found in Lorhainne Eckhart’s Friessens series and I’m really enjoying the books. One of my favorite things about this series is that the books are quick reads/listens; just perfect for an evening’s entertainment. Ms. Eckhart does a great job with this length of book and I look forward to reading or listening to more of her work.
I won a copy of this audiobook from the author in a giveaway but no review was requested or required. My review is voluntary and not influenced by the author.
