Five reasons I should never go near Oz Taylor:• He’s a hot as sin world famous rockstar with a big…ax.• He’s a huge, tattooed older guy with a piercing dark gaze that can destroy a woman’s virginity.• He’s my forever best friend’s older brother.• He hasn’t spoken to me in more than five years.• Oh, and I’m pretty sure he hates me… Author’s note: Play Fast is a standalone enemies to lovers …
Author’s note: Play Fast is a standalone enemies to lovers rock star romance. It ends in a happily ever after with no cliffhanger.

In this installment of the Brooklyn Dawn series we get Oz and Daisy’s story and what a story it was. The pair have been marred by grief and guilt from loss and their relationship blossomed over a matter of a weekend. This pair had chemistry that was off the charts as they stumbled with their feelings. Once I started reading this book, I had a hard time putting it down like all of the other books this pair have written. I enjoyed the return of characters from previous series as well as a glimpse into the future of this series. I seriously recommend this book to others!
Where do I start??? Play Fast is sooo much more than what I was expecting and I was expecting a really good read! It was everything that I love in a book.
Amazing characters I absolutely love Daisy, the hair and makeup artist, and Oz, the sexy rockstar. They have a past. A past filled with good times and heartbreaking tragedy. After five years they find themselves back in each other’s lives. Oz determined to keep her at a distance and Daisy determined to break through his walls.
Witty dialogue Taryn Elliott and Cari Quinn have this amazing way of mixing sass and sarcasm, giving the reader these moments that you literally laugh out loud.
Angst These two characters are a little bit broken. Oz, I think, more than Daisy. He has much to work through.
Steam Off the charts chemistry and hot AF sexy times!!!
HEA Perfection, just absolute perfection! There was so much emotion packed into their HEA, one minute I was crying and the next I was laughing.
If I could give this book more that 5 stars, I would!!
Fantastic and oh, so sexy read! Highly recommend!
I really enjoyed this book. Oz & Daisy have had their share of misery, so it was nice to see them find their HEA . I’ve enjoyed all of the Rock Star themed books – they never disappoint – read it in one sitting! Anxiously waiting for the next book in the series!
Oz and Daisy have a past, she was his sister’s best friend. But after the death of Oz’s sister they drifted away, because of the pain, because of the guilt…
Five years after the death of Kerry (Oz’s sister) and six months after Daisy joined the Brooklyn Dawn Band, hair care and makeup for everyone in the band, except Oz, who insists on ignore Daisy, it’s impossible for them not to talk seriously about the past, about Kerry…
And that’s when things get hot … Daisy has always been in love with Oz, and now that he throws caution to the air, she can make a dream come true… But again, guilt and fear causes Oz to leave Daisy
It needs another rockstar to forget he’s a musician and use some notion of psychology to convince Oz that Daisy is the love of his life.
I’m already looking forward to the next book in the series to learn a little more about the mystery surrounding Brooklyn Dawn.
A must read!
Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott have written another awesome book! Loved Oz and Daisy’s journey in this book. I can not wait to read the rest of the Brooklyn Dawn Series
Oh, So Good!!!
If you are in need of a great rock romance that takes you on one gigantic rollercoaster ride this is the book for you!! Oz is the bass player for Brooklyn Dawn and has a connection to Daisy since she was a kid. Daisy was best friends with Oz’s sister, Kerry, who tragically died in Daisy’s arms. Both Daisy and Oz had closed any doors that they didn’t even know they had opened when Kerry died. Now they were both trying to deal with such an extreme loss in their lives.
Now years later and Daisy is now on tour with Brooklyn Dawn as their makeup artist and hair stylist and even though Oz is all a part of this he has never said a word to her in the six months together. Oz has been dealing with his issues through pulling the whole bad*ss rock star thing of drinking and smashing rooms. Daisy has finally had enough of being treated like an outcast from Oz and is thinking it’s a good idea to steal Oz’s truck and take him to his retreat for the next couple of days just to get things brought to the forefront.
Not only are we dealing with Oz and his hiding from Daisy we also have someone out there who wants to do harm to anyone related to Ripper Records. Their lives are threatened but even the band does not get to what extent as things are kept on the down low.
I have to say that these authors write like no one’s business when it comes to a gritty rock romance that actually makes you feel like a part of their books. I’m always excited whenever one of their rock romance books are released because they are that good. The ending of this book leaves me on pins and needles as to what is to come next. I highly recommend this book.
** When you are reading this wait until you get to Nick’s voicemail message…I need to get this on my phone now. Truly a laugh out loud moment**
These two authors never fail to come together and write a phenomenal rock star romance that elicits all the feels all while stirring up lots of steam and adding a touch of suspense. Play Fast is an emotional enemies to lovers romance that will leave you crying, laughing, and swooning.
Oz is the scrumptious bass player from Brooklyn Dawn and Daisy is the brand’s hair and makeup artist. The two share a rocky past where a heartbreaking tragedy tore them apart leaving Oz with wanting nothing to do with Daisy. What follows is a story full of heartbreak and love, healing and hope as well as a good dose of humor and intense chemistry that will leave you cheering for Oz and Daisy.
I am staking my claim on Oz as my book boyfriend! I was completely charmed by this beautifully broken rockstar. As for Daisy, I absolutely adored her for her vibrant and spirited personality. The authors did a masterful job with character development as well the evolution of these two’s relationship. As with these authors’ previous works, the secondary characters play huge roles and I loved getting caught up with all of them. The band truly is a family. Play Fast can be read as a standalone, but I do recommend reading their other books for the ultimate experience. There is no cliffhanger, but it should be noted that the underlying suspense is threaded throughout the series. If you are looking for an entertaining, enemies to lovers rockstar romance, then you will definitely want to read this book!
Quinn and Elliott knock it out of the park with Play Fast. We get the story of Oz and Daisy and it’s a steamy one. The ending made my heart stop and gave me goosebumps. To sum it up…..two words: BOOK HANGOVER!!
This is one kick butt book!! There is so many feels that just wrap you up. The laughter, the friendship, the heartache, the loving, it just takes you there. I could literally NOT put this book down. Some of the scenes made me feel like I was right there with them. I wanted Daisy to do my hair too!!! These two characters are my absolute favorite…..Daisy so spunky and sweet and pure (In body only) looking to fit in and Oz!! I want an Osmond of my own to run my fingers through his hair!!!! Plus, I can’t leave out Nick, he has grown so much. This is a MUST READ!!!!!!! These ladies never disappoint!
A Fantastic, Engaging Story
I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book. I really loved this book. It kept me engrossed from start to finish. Cari & Taryn are by far the best writers I have read. They never disappoint you with their books. They know how to draw you into the story and keep you there till the end. I love the great characters engaging Chemistry and interaction. Their enjoyable, interesting storyline really had me engrossed. This is another great, entertaining, engaging, must read rock star romance
This is Oz and Daisy’s story and I loved it! Oz is a big and growly (yes that is a word) bear and he has some demons and Daisy brings all of them out. She was his sister’s best friend and when his sister Kerry OD’d Daisy was with her. That was five years ago and he has never been able to get past it and now she is working with the band and touring with them as the hair and makeup artist and has become part of the family. Daisy has finally had enough of him ignoring her and stole his keys and goes with him to his cabin. Bring on the complications of close quarters, losing virginity, don’t forget the madman who breaks in and stabs Daisy, and Noah showing up as security. Of course Oz cannot get past his demons fast enough to get out of his own way and leaves Daisy with a broken heart. Will he be able to win her heart? Oh, this one was so good! I cannot wait to find out what comes next and with all the uncertainty of the security issues there has to be more going on behind the scenes we need to find out about…
Play Fast is a continuation of the Brooklyn Dawn series. A rockstar romance where Oz, bassist for the group works through the guilt he shoulders over the death of his sister. On top of that he’s fighting the growing attraction to his little sister’s best friend who has now joined the band’s tour as their makeup artist/stylist.
Daisy too feels guilt for her best friends death and her ever long crush on Oz grows deeper.
Together they work through their feelings on the past and bond over a strong and heavy attraction as well as their life long familiarity. The passion between the two is quite steamy.
Oh, and don’t let me forget the underlying mystery surround the band that is only now scratching g the surface.
I’m excited for the next installment.
Play Fast was such a hot and steamy read. Fast paced and packed full of awesome goodness. I was hooked and couldn’t put it down.
Awww this book pulls on all the heart strings.. or should I say plays them. Love is something we all deserve but push away thinking we have yet to earn it. Daisy is tired of waiting for Oz to pull his head out of his butt and say anything even if it’s to say he hates her .. knowing it couldn’t be more than she hates herself. Love these stories more and more.
Two people meant to be but forbidden feelings for her best friends older brother and a tragic moment changes them. Daisy uses this to be an better person and Oz closes himself off and keeps music his priority. When daisy starts working for the band he keeps to himself and avoids her like the plague, Daisy takes it in her own hands to clear things between them once and for all always blaming herself for what had happened.
Emotions and feelings develop between the two but when things start to go well Oz runs away. This book had me laughing, smiling swooning, sad and smiling again. I loved the banter between these two and the other characters in the book. It kept me wanting more and not stopping for a break.
This book is left on a cliffhanger and I cannot wait to read the next book. If you’re looking for a rockstar, best friends older brother with a broody alpha and a sassy but sweet heroine this is the book for you. I was given this book as an arc to give an honest option
Cari and Taryn never disappoint and this book is just proof of that. This story focuses on Brooklyn Dawn’s bassist Oz and their stylist Daisy. Daisy and Oz have a past as Daisy was best friends with Oz’s sister and with her when she OD’d. This horrible event kept them part and harboring so much. On the anniversary of her death, Daisy takes Oz’s keys which starts this intense adventure. One minute Oz is sweet and tender and the next, he’s taking what he needs without a look back but is that really true. So much going on in this book, but what a read!
Play Fast is the second book in the Brooklyn Dawn series. Oz and Daisy have some serious issues to work past before they can see the love for each other. If your looking for a awesome story about rockers with a rollercoaster ride if emotions then Play Fast is the one to read!
Daisy and Oz have known each other since they were kids. She was BFFs with Kerry, Oz’s sister. So, of course, Oz was off-limits. Fast forward to them as adults. Kerry has, tragically, died from an overdose – both Oz and Daisy have guilt and grief eating at them over her death, and they haven’t spoken in years.
Now they are together most of the time; Oz is the bassist in Brooklyn Dawn, and Daisy the band’s hair and makeup guru. When the band takes a brief break that happens to coincide with the anniversary of Kerry’s death, Daisy decided she’s had enough of Oz avoiding her. She forces him to deal with her by stealing his truck.
What follows is an emotional roller-coaster for Daisy and Oz, and Taryn and Cari take us through every twist and turn. It ramps up into steamy/sexy very quickly, then just as quickly, their world falls to reality. The authors have said up front this is a Happily Ever After, so you know they will get their collective act together by the end of the story.
The authors have again fleshed out for us characters we can fall in love with and feel invested in. Their expansion of their Rocker Universe is excellent, and much anticipated, and I can’t wait for the next story!
Man do I love Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott’s rockstars! These girls always make me feel like I’m out there on tour, in the studio or behind the scenes with my favorite bands! Play Fast is the second book in the Brooklyn Dawn series but reads as a complete standalone. It does feature some favorites from their previous series (Lost In Oblivion, Hammered and Warning Sign) but prior knowledge isn’t necessary to enjoy this book. But seriously….read them because they are amazing!!!
Oh how I loved Daisy. She is strong-willed, ballsy and says what’s on her mind. Her best friend Keri (who died several years ago) was Oz’s sister but since her passing, these two have hated and avoided each other. When Daisy takes a job as the hair and makeup artist for Oz’s band, Brooklyn Dawn, there’s no getting away from each other. Oz is stubborn and holds a grudge against Daisy. He’s broody and wild and prefers to be alone when not with the band. These two wind up alone for a weekend in a remote cabin and what happens is anything but innocent. Daisy and Oz are electric together. They heat things up with their sharp-tongued banter and their activities in and out of the bedroom.
Quinn and Elliott do what they do best, giving readers a sensual, sexy story that will make you blush. Hot is just the tip of the iceberg with these two! But aside from the heat, the authors also add in a mystery that will keep you guessing. And while this IS a standalone story, the mystery is not solved, leaving the door open for further danger in the next story. Just who is going after Ripper Records and/or Brooklyn Dawn? Readers will have to tune into book 3, Play Mine to discover more. I can’t wait to see what is in store for Teagan and Cooper! 5 stars
