Run, he whispered in my ear. While you still can.I walked into a club called Ruin and found it—and him—when he bent me over the piano he was playing.I did as he said, but not until after he’d decimated me in the filthiest way possible.I loved every second. That one, and the ones that came years later. When he sang with me against his will, although the words burned and the scar tissue left him raw. with me against his will, although the words burned and the scar tissue left him raw.
Nash has secrets, deadly ones, and he won’t let me in. He just gives me dirty little tastes of him that make me desperate for more.
To the world, I’m on top. The lead singer of a famous rock band.
With Nash, I don’t mind getting on my knees.
But someone is watching us. And our stalker isn’t content to stay on the sidelines any longer.
The curtain is about to rise. Win, lose…or die.
Author’s note: Play Dirty is a standalone enemies to lovers rock star romance. It ends in a happily ever after.

This was another amazing read by this Duo, I could not put it down and loved every minute of it.
Oh my goodness! This was one long, long book but it was worth every minute invested in reading it! Right from the beginning when we are treated to an interlude with Lindsay York, the lead singer for Brooklyn Dawn the night before opening at MSG when she ducks into a dive bar and is captivated by the piano player I was hooked. The player was none other than Alexander Nash, the songwriter/producer, former singer and now recluse who is playing Dream On but not singing and she cannot take it and slips behind the curtain. After that we fast forward three years until they are forced back together and sparks are just as explosive. Add in a stalker and someone trying to destroy Nash and just when these lovers get together will they be able to make it work? I am really looking forward to more in this series! Great cameos!
Our alter egos have a brand new rockstar romance. If you like lots of steam and music along with more than a dash of suspense that leads to an emotional HEA, give PLAY DIRTY a try before the price goes up!
From two of my favorite authors, Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliot know how to weave a story filled with angst, energy and romance. Hang on for a ride you won’t soon forget with this edge-of-your-seat book. This one is long, over 500 pages, but well worth the read! And I loved the chance to catch up with a few characters from the connected series.
Brooklyn Dawn’s lead singer, Lindsey York, is flying high on the success of her band but when fans begin chasing her through the streets she finds a dive bar to hide out in. The last person she expected to hear playing in a secluded corner was Nash. What happens next will leave them both rattled, frustrated and angry. Three years later both of their lives will change for ever when a mad man on the loose threatens both their lives.
Alex Nash had his time in the lime light. Now he stays in the dark, secluded from the rest of society, right where he belongs. His scars, both physical and emotional, run deep. He doesn’t deserve the light after what he did. But seeing Lindsey again is throwing him for a loop and threatening his dark with her sweet, precious light. When his past threatens the one person he might see a future with will he be able to protect her?
The wait is over for the start of another phenomenal series. This book left me waiting more as I got to the last page. I had all of the emotional feels with this book. I highly recommend it.
I have been impatiently waiting on this book for a while. I have to say the ladies DO NOT disappoint!! This book was just so emotional and heart felt….I felt it in every pore of my body!! The book was totally engaging and I could not put it down. Lindsay is the lead singer for band Brooklyn Dawn……Alexander is a musician and a broken man. Their story is not for the faint of heart and is not easy at all, it is messy and absolutely spectacular. I love these ladies and everything they write! Another 5 star read!!!
This is the first book in the Brooklyn Dawn series and it focuses on lead singer Lindsey. From the first moment they hooked up in the bar Ruin, this couple drew you in. They are forced to work together again and the fireworks were shooting from the minute she arrives in NY to help save the Christmas album that he’s working on. Nash, is furious when he sees her. But the tension is so high that Logan forces the two of them together in a barn, hopping they can work out their differences and boy did they ever!
Nash is feeling guilty from an accident 10 years earlier that left him damaged (both inside and out) and wrecked his friendship with his best friend Kyle. But it doesn’t stop Lindsey and her addiction to Nash. Throw in a stalker and it’s not an easy road but it’s definitely one you want to read.
This book was definitely worth the wait and I can’t wait to read more in this series!
Play Dirty is the first book in the Brooklyn Dawn series. It features lead singer Lindsey York and Irsh born Alexander Nash. Cari and Taryn have given us another amazing rocker story that doesn’t disappoint! It has all the feels and excitement your looking for. Must Read Series!
I really wanted to love this book but I just never felt a connection to Lindsey. I usually love the female characters in Ms Elliott and Ms Quinn’s books but she just didn’t do it for me. The plot line was fabulous and I can’t wait for more of Brooklyn Dawn!
This is a very hot and cold then hotter relationship, with the story spanning a few years. Nash is a very broken up man, riddled with guilt. Lindsey is completely hooked on him, totally terrified of her reaction to him, and confused by his behavior. There is an enemy in the shadows that doesn’t want them together making things harder. Really good story. Love be working through these rock star series that link together because it creates a much bigger story.
Since this book started off at Logan King’s place, I went back and did a quick re-read of the Winchester Falls trilogy (which is where these characters were introduced, plus it s a great read) before I got too far into the book. Even though Nash comes across as a major prick to everyone around him, he and Lindsay are great together. They balance each other out perfectly. No matter how hard they try, they can’t seem to stop thinking about the other. Someone starts harrassing Lindsay and at first she just blows it off. When she finally gets creepy feelings, she finally asks for help. Nash is beside himself but he has a hard time trying to show Lindsay how he really feels. When the stalker forces a showdown, Nash and Lindsay must decide if what they have is really worth pursuing.
Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott are automatic “read everything they write” authors for me, so I’ve been waiting for this first book launching the Brooklyn Dawn series with bated breath for quite a while. It was worth the wait!
Lindsey and Nash are fire together – but as we all know, fire can burn you. This book started with a bang and never quit. This was a great enemies to lovers book that focuses on the band Brooklyn Dawn, but has lots of cameos from other characters in the Oblivion world that are always fun to catch up with. I can’t wait for the next installment in the series, the people in and around these bands seem so real to me, it’s a treat to get lost in their world with them!
Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott are my go-to girls for all things rockstar. Play Dirty is another fabulous feather in their already full cap! This book reads as a complete standalone and while it does reference and feature characters from their previous rockstar books, prior reading isn’t necessary so feel free to dive right in!
Alexander Nash starts out a complete enigma. He’s mysterious and broody….with good reason. As his story unfolds and his layers are peeled back, I found myself completely enamored by this incredibly talented man. Nash has suffered so much in his life but meeting Lindsay York changes everything for him. Lindsay is one of my favorite badass female rockstars! She’s edgy but soft and goes after what she wants. She’s the light to Nash’s dark and the only woman who can truly connect with him. I loved watching their relationship blossom and the changes that took place within each of them. Their chemistry was intense and their connection deep. Add in an element of mystery and danger to round out this delicious story and you’ve got an amazing read!
Quinn and Elliott do a great job setting the stage for future stories in the Brooklyn Dawn series. I can’t wait to read about the rest of the band and see them each find their happily ever after. Play Dirty will hook you from the start and keep you guessing up until the very end. It’s sexy, funny and emotional and you won’t want to put it down. It’s a girthy book so sit back, settle in and enjoy the ride! 5 stars
Play Dirty is the first book in the Brooklyn Dawn series. It grabbed me from the first page and was extremely hard to put down! I’ve enjoyed all the various series of Rock Band books (Lost in Oblivion, Found in Oblivion). Looking forward to reading more books from these talented ladies in the future!
Passion & Suspense!!
Nash and Lindsay’s first meeting was like non other but it did send Lindsay running. Dark and dangerous was Nash and something that Lindsay was surprised she even liked. Nash had many demons he lived with and didn’t think he deserved all the goodness that was rock star Lindsay. She looked like an angel and was taking her band Brooklyn Dawn to new heights.
It’s when the past comes back full force trying to destroy everything you thought you never deserved that has you taking that step toward something good. So be ready for a love story with suspense, sexiness and everything rock star. I can’t wait for the next book in this series. These authors never disappoint.
This is a great start to this new series bringing us Brooklyn Dawn. Lindsey and Nash’s story was both light and dark, enemies to lovers with a hint of danger. The pair have chemistry that is off the charts and is nearly palpable between them. Their story had a hint of intrigue with the mad stalker after them making it an addicting read. I was hooked in when waiting to see what would happen next. I enjoyed the small pieces that we got of the supporting characters in the group Brooklyn Dawn making me want to see where this series will go next with their stories. I also enjoyed the interconnection with other books from this writing pair’s other series as well. I enjoyed this book from the start and would recommend it to others
These ladies have done it again. I could not put it down and I love how they tie in their other series so all the books are interconnected and you feel like you are seeing how old friends are doing. I highly recommend this book (or any of their books), it’s well worth your time, you won’t regret it.
Omg what a crazy start to the beginning for this series of rockstars!! This book starts with glitzy frontwoman Lindsey York & dark, broody reclusive producer Alexander Nash. A coincidental run-in at seedy piano bar leads to a lustful & passionate night. 3 years later, while at a Warning Sign wedding in Hawaii, Lindsey is asked to fill in on her friend’s upcoming Christmas album, which incidentally is being put together with the help of the same brooding Irishman producer with a dark past & black shroud that refuses to go away. Sparks fly again between the two but will the sparks be enough to keep them in the light & away from getting sucked back into darkness? Music, nostalgia, suspense, passion, hilarity, lust, rawness & so much more flow throughout the pages. Old friends from previous works make frequent appearances & the new colorful characters bring a freshness to this amazing rockstar world that’s been created so far from this awesome duo of Cari & Taryn! It feels like coming back home after a long vacation! Can’t wait for the next!
Enemies to lovers. There is always a thin line between love and hate, but seriously these two Lindsey and Nash add all of these elements of lust, love, turmoil, anger and bad assery that you can’t help but get invested and fall in love with. I feel their journey in my veins..the anger in my heart and the love in my soul. The fight is real and the struggle is worth the light in the end. Lindsey is the moth drawn to the flame that is Nash and instead of burning her light out, he makes it thrive. Brooklyn Dawn is a strong band and with the shows they are playing you can’t help but feel like you are in the arena enjoying the show.
Taryn and Cari take the cake with Play Dirty. Their uncanny ability to create rockstar worlds catapults them into the Rock Star hall of Fame. I loved this new world and can’t wait to see what more the characters will bring to the arena. So worth the read and so worth the wait because the finesse with which it is written captivated me as a reader no want more now!!!
Two strong, independent personalities find love through pain, determination and hard work. These authors always bring it on huge with great back stories, well written and hot as sin love scenes.
This book is longer than I’m used to, but definitely worth it.
