Kylie Scott returns with the highly anticipated follow-up to international bestseller Lick.Mal Ericson, drummer for the world famous rock band Stage Dive, needs to clean up his image fast-at least for a little while. Having a good girl on his arm should do the job just fine. Mal doesn’t plan on this temporary fix becoming permanent, but he didn’t count on finding the one right girl. Anne Rollins … right girl.
Anne Rollins never thought she’d ever meet the rock god who plastered her teenage bedroom walls-especially not under these circumstances. Anne has money problems. Big ones. But being paid to play the pretend girlfriend to a wild life-of-the-party drummer couldn’t end well. No matter how hot he is. Or could it?

I have read this whole series but this one was my all time favorite! Both male and female lead characters were funny to me. The hero was openly funny and light hearted. The heroine had really funny thoughts. Loved the book and the series.
I listened to the audio book.
The second story of the series, I was looking forward to this story cuz I loved Mel in the first book. Humorous men are such a turn on. But this book wasn’t that funny. There were a few times I chuckled but overall wasn’t a funny book. Was kind of depressing. Also I had a hard time believing they loved each other as there really wasn’t a development in the relationship. Overall, it was ok.
I didn’t think this series could get any better but man was I wrong. In this book we follow the drummer Mal Ericson and his “fake girlfriend” Anne Rollins. Mal needs to be a good guy and Anne needs money so together they embark on a journey filled with speed bumps and stop signs after Mal decides to move in to make their arrangement more real. I loved the humor, passion and friendship that happens along the way. I have to say that Kylie Scott knows how to write a great Rocker Romance. I can’t wait to see what else is in store from her. Highly recommend this book and series. All books are standalones but it’s best to read Lick first.
I am not usually a first person reader, but i loved the whole series. I’ve ordered another series of hers but haven’t read it yet.
I loved Mal and Anne. Their first meeting is less than stellar and Mal is an acquired taste, although there is something very enduring about him. Mal decides to help out Anne with her situation if she’ll be his fake girlfriend. But there is nothing fake about these two. The attraction is undeniable and the need between them is bursting with each page.
I liked that Mal brought out the old Anne. She let people walk all over her and take advantage of her and with Mal she found her voice again. She discovered what she really wanted. Mal is in no way shape or form perfect. Mal drinks his problems away runs away from confrontation. This causes friction in Anne and Mal’s relationship. Its clear to see that Anne was so good for him. She didn’t let him act any way he wanted towards her. She made him confide in her as she shed the pain of her past. The band was also really great and supportive. They were always around and helped both Anne and Mal with their relationship.
I really liked this book. Mal is so sweet and funny. Anne is very caring and sweet. I can’t wait to finish this series.
Sweet Jesus Mal I’ve missed your a**, “yeeah, your name,” he drawled. “The point of me telling you my name, even when you already knew it, was so you’d give me yours. That’s how these things go.” I mean a drunk Mal is just something else, “liar,” he taunted in a soft voice. “You’re totally thinking of me with no pants on.” And the text messages he sends to Ann sweet lord I have to give the girl props for putting up with that, “when are you on the rag? David said to find out if you want cupcakes or ice cream.” He’s fiercely protective, “you woke her, a**wipe.” For once, Mal didn’t sound the least bit light and easy as he gave Reece hell. “Do you have any idea how stressful sh**’s been for her lately? Plus she had to work late last night.” I have to say I enjoyed Mal’s book more than David’s probably because of all the playfulness that is Mal, “nonsense. We just effed so hard we broke your bed. They wish they were us. The natural order of sexual status has been restored.” We both laughed. It was all so ridiculous.” I mean he sometimes does have to straighten things out with Ann, “you want a song? No problem. I’ll ask Davie to write you one later.” He put a hand to either side of the bathroom doorway. “I know you wanted to go for it last night. But I wanted you sober. Now you are. I want you. You want me. Let’s eff.” And when Mal is disoriented it is damn hilarious, “why’d you put my hand down your panties while I was asleep? What’s that about?” he mumbled. “Christ woman. You’re out of control. I feel violated.” Can’t wait to see whose next in this series.
I was rocking out with book 1 “Lick” but “Play”, Mal & Anne’s story is my favorite one yet. No one usually notices the drummer in the band but Mal is just so damn funny and caring I adore him. Anne comes to meet him unexpectedly and of course Mal is just his usual speak his mind self and decides Anne is his “pumpkin”. Their story is filled with passion, laughter and so much more. This man is talented and caring and will definitely keep you on your toes with his antics. This is a standalone in a series but I suggest you read them all and get to know each member of Stage Dive individually, you won’t regret it. Love love loved this story can’t wait to see what’s in store next in “Lead” book 3.
I loved Lick (Stage Dive #1) and Play (Stage Dive #2) was no different. I enjoyed Mal and Anne’s story. Mal’s character will definitely have you laughing throughout the whole book, especially the part where he and Anne broke the bed. We didn’t get to see the group perform in this book as much as we did in the first book but this is definitely a book and series I can read again and again. Even though the books are a part of the series, I absolutely love that they can be read as a stand-alone. I cannot wait to read Lead (Stage Dive #3) to get Jimmy’s story.
