Mistakes were made, okay? The moment I laid eyes on Kyle Kingston I knew he was a mistake. A satisfying, toe curling, hair pulling, best night of my life mistake, but a mistake all the same. I didn’t yet know his name, or who he was, but I knew he was a bad idea.I take comfort in that, because it means my instincts are still good. Too late, but it’s something.Because, FYI, I’m pregnant… and did I … I’m pregnant
… and did I mention my baby daddy is both heir to a retail empire and impossible to get ahold of?
I do what any girl would. I break into his Grandfather’s retirement gala by telling the prissy gatekeeper Kyle’s my fiancé. It was a halfway decent plan at the time, trust me.
But it blows up in my face, disastrously so. You see, Kyle Kingston is all about representing the family values his family’s retail empire was founded on. At least in public. In private- well I’ll tell you about that later.
He proposes – a marriage of convenience.
Convenient for everyone but me, because while I’m falling in love with my convenient husband, he’s keeping a billion-dollar secret. From me.

In the beginning of this we start off with Daisy telling us all about how her one night without Kyle was a mistake and she goes on and on about life, men, mistakes, etc. She was rambling so much I wasn’t sure if I was going to like her or be annoyed with her but then we get to the part she meets up with Kyle finally and she had me laughing and I finally could understand and connect with her. Daisy can be a little eccentric but now she has a reason to be. Kyle was a swoon worthy man who at first was just doing the marriage of convenience because he had ulterior motives but Kyle was genuinely in love with Daisy but didn’t want her to run. The banter and push and pull between these two was perfect, they had me laughing and swooning. Kyle was perfect and balanced Daisy out so well. Overall a very great read.
What a fun, easy summer read. Aston has the art of writing witty characters down to an art, and she nailed it with Daisy! Although this is book #2, it can absolutely be read as a standalone. If you are in the mood for a book that gives you a good laugh, some tender moments and some steam…this one should be on your “to be read” list.
I love this kind of trope and Jana didn’t disappointed.
This book is swoon worthy, funny, sweet and a very sexy page turner. It was an amazing story, they all the previous stories intertwine and you get but and pieces of previous character was awesome.
So if you are in the for an easy funny read this is your book. You won’t stop smiling, I didn’t
4-4.5 Tubbs McGee stars
I wasn’t sure what I would think of Daisy before starting this book…I mean what kind of person just up and leaves her identical twin sister to do her job and then acts so flippant about whether or not her twin gets her fired from her job? One who knows her days are numbered at said job. And why is that, you may ask? Because of a parting gift left by a one night stand, you guessed it, a surprise pregnancy. Daisy is on a mission to inform the baby daddy of his impending spawn’s arrival but first she’s got to find a way to get to him, because it turns out he’s kind of a big deal. A big deal as in a CEO of a national company, an eligible bachelor worth billions!!! Daisy isn’t fazed by any of this, she’s just trying to do the right thing, because if there was more there he wouldn’t have left without a word the next morning, right? But as soon as she and Kyle lock eyes with each other, you know they aren’t through!
The more surprise baby books I read, the more I like them and this one was no exception. I actually liked Daisy’s personality more than Violet’s to be honest. She has her crap together more than she lets on and girl has got goals and even a surprise baby won’t stop her from doing what she loves, blogging about travel. Kyle is totally swoon-worthy but not totally transparent or honest and he surprised me a time or too with his withholding of info…BUT, I get why…when you are as sought after and worth as much as he is, you have to learn who to trust and who not too. One of my biggest enjoyments out of the book was Tubbs McGee, the overly fed, spoiled cat…definitely a sidekick who stole the show for me. OH!!! And Luke is in the book and I LOVED his role in this one. Always fun to read books by Jana, she just makes me laugh and I enjoy her brand of storytelling 🙂
I have loved everything that I have read by Jana Aston, I especially like when she gives us past characters in her stories. I have been waiting for Daisy’s book ever since I read Sure Thing and her twin switch with Violet so that she could go and “handle something”. As much as I LOVED Violet & Jennings story in the back of my head I was BEYOND curious as to what Daisy was up to. And Plan B starts off with a bang gets you right into Daisy’s head and what she’s up to. I completely appreciate that it wasn’t drug out in anyway you get to know her plan with her inner dialogue. Again Jana blew it out of the park with Daisy’s inner dialogue, I was cracking up, and enjoying every minute of it. It took me a little bit to see where Kyle was coming from but once I was able to get in his head I fell in love with him! He was a great guy, strong, family oriented, sexy, had some alpha tendencies (which I love). I want to thank Jana for bringing some Dr. Luke into the story :). I just finished this book the other day and I’m already wanting more of Violet & Jennings, & Daisy & Kyle. I’m a little greedy, sorry not sorry lol.
After reading Sure Thing I was super curious what Violet’s twin sister Daisy had been up to. In Plan B we find out.
After getting knocked up after a one night stand, Daisy plans an elaborate scheme to contact her baby daddy Kyle Kingston who has been unreachable via normal means.
Kyle and Daisy’s story is everything I expect and want from an Aston novel and was the palate cleanser I needed after reading too many angsty novels. It has her classically witty, clever, heroine and her swoon-worthy hero. Oh and Tubbs. It definitely left a huge smile on my face.
5 stars!
If you’ve read any of Jana Aston’s books, you know you are going to get a quirky female character that will make you laugh and perhaps wanna be her best friend too. This book was no different.
Plan B was a fast paced and enjoyable romcom between blogger Daisy and CEO Kyle. Perhaps the book was a little too fast paced. I wanted more of Kyle’s POV. While we do get his POV a little bit, I wanted more. He is older, kinda nerdy, family oriented, a suit and he is ALL IN! Total swoon worthy! Give me more of him besides the few chapters I got. He is WORTHY!! 😉
And Daisy we’ve been introduced to before in Sure Thing. While you don’t need to read that book, I would recommend it so you can understand her relationship with her twin, Violet. They are each other’s Yin to yang and I adore them and their conversations. Plus Daisy is strong willed, smart and just a fun character that seems to know the right thing to say to those around her. People may underestimate her, but she honestly has it together and can throw other’s for a loop with her quick thinking and comebacks.
Plan B is the light and low on angst rom-com that will cleanse your palate between your more serious books. Yes, this book has some minor serious moments, but where Jana shines is the quirkiness of her females that make you laugh out loud with their banter and their antics. The heroines are so much fun and they just hold the whole story together. You don’t know if you should take them serious or just laugh with them. They speak truth through their comedy.
“He was gateway d*ck. One hit on his c*ck and I’d be back to jerks who forgot when my birthday was when I was trying to transition to the type of men who contributed to their retirement plans and had a burning desire to ask about my day.”
Daisy and Kyle are two complete opposites, but you know what they say about opposites…..
I can’t wait for everyone to have fun and enjoy these two characters and their shenanigans. Especially with Tubbs. He’s a definitely highlight. A couple downfalls would be that I wanted to hear more from a few side characters like Kyle’s sister. There could’ve been more added in with those characters, but the book flowed well how it is. A little fast towards the end, but still enjoyable and fun. An overall good palate cleanser that had me giggling and rooting for Kyle and Daisy throughout.
Jana Aston does it again! I devoured this funny, witty and sexy read. I absolutely loved Daisy, she is quirky and loveable! Kyle is definitely swoon worthy. Their chemistry and banter will keep you hooked throughout the storyline. Plan B is a must read.
Ok I didn’t think this author could get any wittier with her writing but she proved me wrong here! Am I right?? This story just warmed my heart! I’ve loved Daisy since being introduced to her and I’m so happy she got her story and happily ever after! Kyle is just so swoon worthy and Daisy is laugh out loud hilarious! I recommend all of this authors books but this one really gave me all the feels!!! Another 5 star read from one of my favorite authors!!
Oh Daisy! This character i something else! You’ll love her. This is a Jana Aston book, so there is plenty of humor, as you might expect if you are familiar with her books. Lots of laugh out loud moments. This is book two of a series, but can be read as a stand alone, though there may be some spoilers if you have not, yet plan on reading book one, Sure Thing. Daisy is the sister of Violet, the Heroine of book one. Daisy is the ‘problem child’ between the two girls and has a bit of a promiscuous past, and because of that, finds herself pregnant after a one night stand. On her quest to inform the baby daddy, she gets herself into a bit of a pickle. After he proposes a marriage of convenience, things start to change as it starts to feel real and real emotions become an issue. Daisy is an extrovert and very peppy. She’s sort of a free spirit. Positive vibes flow from her. Kyle (AKA Baby Daddy) is a little more subdued and uptight in some ways. He’s not as vocal as Daisy and just sits back and lets her run her mouth, taking it all in. He’s confident not cocky. Smart and of course extremely wealthy, not that Daisy is after his money. This is just such a fun story and entertaining watching these two together. Of course there are a couple things that threaten their growing relationship. There is that awful break up that requires some grand gesture. All in all it is a feel good kind of read with some sexiness thrown in, and of course you’ll be laughing through it all! 🙂 It is a well crafted and well written story. Alternate POVs.
This book was just so much fun. Daisy and her rambling crazy ways. I loved just how spur of the moment she is and yet not. She really isn’t afraid to put herself out there. I absolutely loved Kyle! He’s just swoon worthy, sigh…He was nerdy and just an all around great guy and gorgeous (did I say gorgeous? ABS for days). I really enjoyed this book.
Plan B was a short, but fun read. I do enjoy a good surprise pregnancy & marriage of convenience with a hot billionaire. If you’ve read Sure Thing by Jana, you’ve briefly met Daisy. It was fun to read her point of view, she knows who she is & doesn’t apologize for it. She was quite funny and never boring, you can’t help but smile when reading her side. We also get Kyle’s P.O.V and it was nice to see how he truly felt about Daisy. I loved them together! They were a bit different from each other but just seemed to work well. I definitely wish this were a longer story to get more of them. This is one I will read again!
Obvi Kyle has stolen my heart…
Daisy…what can I say about Daisy…she is funny AF, headstrong, and she is very practical….
Well she is all those things except for practical, but the fact that she thinks she is practical is what makes her so awesome!
Daisy is a mission when she stalks down Kyle at a fancy party and the word vomit that ensues after that is pretty spectacular. Her amazing way to spin a tale will have you so into this story that you won’t be able to put it down. Thennnnnnn….thennnnn Kyle will hook you with his naughty, dirty mouth. Ohhhh the things he does to Daisy with that naughty, dirty mouth might be illegal in some states…he worships her body, every last stinkin’ inch of it.
These two could not be more cute together, but…and there is a big o’l but in there…first they need to agree on somethings, which seems impossible with Daisy’s refusal to accept help. Kyle is most swoon worthiest book boyfriend and that epi…Ohhh Myyy Geee Jana out did herself with that effing epi!
In my closing remarks I believe that Mrs. Lascola stole the show…

Another fantastic read by Jana, this is centered around Daisy, Violet’s twin sister from Sure Thing, which ideally needs to be read before this so you understand what is going on, but if rom-com, swoons, crazy banter and monologuing is your thing then this is not to be missed!
Daisy and Violet may be twins, but their personalities are totally different – where Violet is more careful, cautious and a planner, Daisy is out there in your face, no filter, sassy and funny as hell. Daisy was on a special diet that involves the male gender, staying away from them, until she met Kyle Kingston and ended up having a one night stand, but got more than she bargained for, and ends up pregnant by him. She has no means of contacting him to let him know, which is only fair of course, and ends up stalking him and gate crashing a party, saying she’s his fiance and meeting the family just to get to talk to him! She wants nothing from him, just to let him know of his impending fatherhood, she may hate him a little but her body remembers Kyle and reacts accordingly whenever he is around.
Kyle was blown away by his one night with Daisy, but didn’t get any contact details from her and didn’t expect to see her again, let alone bump into her gate crashing his grandfather’s party posing as his fiance! But Kyle takes it all in his stride, even the impending fatherhood news and sets about doing the right thing by Daisy, much to her chagrin.
I loved Kyle, he was down to earth, sensible, romantic and fun loving. He was determined to not let Daisy go again now he had her again, her sassy and quirky nature really got to him. They are perfect together, their chemistry oozes off the pages and their banter was hilarious. Entertaining from start to finish, I loved watching their relationship develop into something so very real. Highly recommended.
Plan B is the second book in the Best Laid Plans series. It can be read as a standalone but Sure Thing is awesome and worth the read!
“But we’re just a fluke,” I remind him. “You and me.”
“Hmm,” he hums softly. “Or maybe the universe sent me exactly who I needed.”
Heart. Puddle. Floor.”
After an amazing one night stand, Daisy was left with no contact info but a lifetime souvenir! When she tries to get a hold of Kyle Kingston to let him know he knocked her up, she finds more than just a baby daddy.
“This is like being witness to a train wreck. Or watching fake news spread on the internet. Except I’m the fake news and I’m the one driving the train, so it’s much, much worse.”
Plan B is surprise pregnancy, marriage of convenience, and funny as heck!! Add in an adorable cat named Tubbs McGee and I dare you to try NOT to one click!!!
-5 Stars!-
Jana Aston is definitely a go to author for me if I want a feel good laugh out loud read. And she didn’t disappoint in Plan B. I was one of my favorites of hers.
I loved Daisey’s sass, fast wit, and determination. And Kyle was not what I was expecting at all. He was so much more. He will have you swooning. Yes I said swooning. The banter in this book was so fun. It will have you laughing out loud. And the chemistry was undeniable. Ashton nailed it with this one. I finished it in one sitting.
I was also excited because we got a peak at a few characters from previous books. I’m looking forward to see what comes next.
If you’re looking for a great feel good Rom/Com you can’t go wrong with any of Jana Aston’s books.
Daisy’s book is hilarious!! This book is connected to the book Sure Thing (Daisy and Violet are twin sisters). I do not think that reading Plan B first would spoil much, but it will make you rush to read Sure Thing and every other book Jana Aston has written!!
Daisy is the fun twin. She is not bad, but she is more likely to cause or be involved in shenanigans. Daisy cheats on her own self imposed “dick diet” and ends up pregnant. She tries to do the right thing and notify the father of her child. Unfortunately, he is hard to contact and Daisy ends up making a minor scene at a large public event.
Kyle is a jerk of a one-night-stand, who runs and steals Daisy’s camera on his way out. We slowly learn bits and pieces about Kyle, like that he has money, lots of money and that he is keeping secrets from Daisy.
Somehow during their nonsensical bickering, Kyle and Daisy fall in love. Added to the fun are family members who are humorous on their own. The secrets all come out and everything is resolved and the book ends on a sweet HEA plus epilogue. I highly recommend this book!!
I received an Advanced Book Copy and I am leaving my honest review.
5 Sweet and Hilarious Stars
WOW! WOW! My stomach has not stopped hurting from laughing so much! I loved Violet and Jenning’s love story in Sure Thing, but I absolutely ADORED Daisy and Kyle’s romance! A one night stand = gets pregnant. Baby daddy is a billionaire business mogal who is unavailable to Daisy in order for her to inform him of her condition. She has to sneak into his grandfather’s party by telling security she is Kyle’s fiance. That starts a chain of events that throws Daisy’s carefully laid plans out the door. Jana Aston writes one heck of a funny, steamy, romantic romp of a story! I can’t wait for what next she comes up with! Automatic 1-click author!
Oh Kyle! This book is funny and sweet amd oh so hot! I think i need a Kyle, maybe not to knock me up but, you know for some office shenanigans! Daisy is hilarious and can definitely spin some fairylies like nobodies business! Love everything about this book!
Jana Aston never fails to deliver a story that I fall in love with and Plan B is just another reason why she’s on my must-read list! Although this is book 2 in the Best Laid Plans series, it can be read as a complete standalone. In fact, it takes place concurrently with Sure Thing, book 1 so while you get a glimpse of the characters in that story, it is completely separate.
Plan B is the kind of story that will keep you laughing throughout. Daisy is hilarious and pretty much has no filter. She’s smart and funny and truly gives Kyle a run for his money. She’s the kind of girl I’d love to have as a best friend–just this side of crazy, keeping you on your toes while being loyal to the end. I love how Aston set up the relationship between Daisy and Kyle. It was fun and exactly as I’d expect for a character like Daisy. These two just clicked and I really connected with them from the start. The story moves at just the right pace with Aston delivering a few surprises along the way. This is definitely a must-read!
