Mistakes were made, okay? The moment I laid eyes on Kyle Kingston I knew he was a mistake. A satisfying, toe curling, hair pulling, best night of my life mistake, but a mistake all the same. I didn’t yet know his name, or who he was, but I knew he was a bad idea.I take comfort in that, because it means my instincts are still good. Too late, but it’s something.Because, FYI, I’m pregnant… and did I … I’m pregnant
… and did I mention my baby daddy is both heir to a retail empire and impossible to get ahold of?
I do what any girl would. I break into his Grandfather’s retirement gala by telling the prissy gatekeeper Kyle’s my fiancé. It was a halfway decent plan at the time, trust me.
But it blows up in my face, disastrously so. You see, Kyle Kingston is all about representing the family values his family’s retail empire was founded on. At least in public. In private- well I’ll tell you about that later.
He proposes – a marriage of convenience.
Convenient for everyone but me, because while I’m falling in love with my convenient husband, he’s keeping a billion-dollar secret. From me.

Plan B by Jana Aston is the story of Daisy, if you’ve read Sure Thing then you’ve already been introduced to Daisy as Violets twin sister. If you’ve read Jana before you know we all love her for her seriously hilarious moments, the completely outrageous, inappropriate and steamy scenes that could make anyone blush, I’m a complete Jana addict and love anything she puts out and Plan B is no exception.
Daisy is a twin and the crazy one, she’s usually not nearly as prepared as her twin Violet as proven when she ends up knocked up from a weekend fling with no idea how to get in touch with her baby daddy. Daisy as we all have friends like her, has absolutely no filter what so ever, whatever she thinks comes straight out of her mouth and you’ll be laughing start to finish!
Kyle being the baby daddy left thinking he would probably never see Daisy again after their weekend together. Well until Daisy shows up at her grandfathers retirement party introducing herself as his Fiancé! Kyle is obviously floored by this unexpected twist but Daisy is also someone he wants to know more about.
The chemistry between Kyle and Daisy is there from the very beginning, I absolutely loved Daisys quirks and her sense of humor, Kyle truly is such a sweet guy that will make you swoon from the very start. As always you’ll laugh your ass off cover to cover, I mean this is the author that brought us our very fist gynecologist erotica story, if you pay careful attention you may even get a sweet catch up with Luke and Sophie from Wrong! And if you haven’t yet tried it you need to!
If you’re looking for a fun, easy, laughable story that will make you blush then pick up Plan B!

4.5 “Husband McBaby-Daddy” stars!!
“Sometimes the best things in life are unplanned.”
A one-night stand that produces an unplanned pregnancy and leads to a fake engagement that turns into a marriage of convenience? Jana Aston’s newest rom com, Plan B, has it all and I loved it!! The catchy intro will draw you in and the fun storyline and original characters will keep you hooked. With heat, heart, and a whole lot of humor, this book was unputdownable.
We first meet Daisy in “Sure Thing” featuring her identical twin sister, Violet. The minute I met Daisy I knew I wanted her story!! Daisy is the wild twin and because she has a tendency to pick the wrong guys, she goes on a six-month “dick diet.” Unfortunately, her diet doesn’t last longer than four months when Kyle walks into the room.
“The first time I saw Kyle Kingston I knew he was a mistake. A fun mistake, but a mistake all the same.”
They share an unforgettable night that leaves her with more than just memories when she ends up knocked up by her one-night stand. Knowing she has to contact him, she does everything she can to track him down but it turns out that Kyle is the heir to a retail empire and he is extremely hard to get ahold of him. That doesn’t stop Daisy though and what follows is a fast, fun addictive read with an unconventional love story that will warm your heart.
Daisy and Kyle couldn’t be more different but are perfect for each other. Kyle is a planner and has his life mapped out. Daisy is the opposite, she doesn’t plan and she isn’t organized. Things are about to change in a big way. She thinks so can do everything on her own but it turns out she doesn’t have to because Kyle is amazing!
Gah, I loved Kyle. I am so glad this book is written in dual POVs because I really enjoyed getting into his head. Learning where he stood made my heart flutter and I the fact that he was all in was so swoony.
“But we’re just a fluke,” I remind him. “You and me.”
“Hmm,” he hums softly. “Or maybe the universe sent me exactly who I needed.”
Heart. Puddle. Floor.
I loved every moment that Daisy and Kyle were together. Their chemistry is well written and believable. They are electric together and give off some nice steam. I also loved the witty banter and the one-liners. Daisy is so quirky and a total hoot and Kyle just takes all of her silliness in stride. I found myself laughing-out-loud with the biggest smile on my face.
Everything seems to be going better but Kyle is hiding something that can ruin all they have built. It’s low angst but I’ll admit that I was on the edge of my seat when the conflict begins. The drama is not over the top or drawn out so the resolution is quick and totally swoony. And the epilogue!! I loved it!!
The secondary characters were also great. I enjoyed getting more of Violet (“Sure Thing”) and Luke (“Wrong”) and the relationships they have with Daisy and Kyle. Both added their own dose of humor. Kyle’s sister, Kerrigan, is wonderful and I would love her story in the future! And I want more of Tubbs-McGee too!
Overall, Plan B is a sweet, sexy, and hilarious addition to the Best Laid Plans series, and I hope we get more of these wonderfully hilarious characters.
Plan B is Daisy and Kyles story. We briefly met Daisy in her twin sister, Violets book, Sure Thing. However, you don’t need to read the first book to enjoy this one. It’s a complete standalone. Both books are hilarious, so I recommend you read them. Daisy finds herself knocked up after a one night stand. She can’t find her baby daddy on social media, so she has to find him the hard way. And find him she does. In a very public and funny manner. Kyle takes the news of her pregnancy very well. Seems he hasn’t been able to forget about Daisy. This story was so funny. Daisy is a strong, independent women just trying to do the right thing by letting Kyle know that she’s pregnant. Kyle comes from a wealthy family and wants to do the “right” thing. Kyle was a sweet, sexy, and somewhat nerdy man. I loved him. Daisy’s inner monologue cracked me up. Shoot, even the things she said out loud cracked me up. Jana Aston is very good at writing quirky, realistic heroines. Great Story. Highly recommend. Can’t wait to see what Ms. Aston writes next.
Daisy might is a little anxious about finding her baby daddy and Kyle (AKA Mr. Millions) is about as swoon-worthy as it gets. Jana is the queen of RomCom in my book and Plan B is her perfect example. Genuinely caring for each other mixed in with a few hiccups and lots of smiles makes Plan B a one-click at any price!
Plan B by Jana Aston
4.5*
If you’ve read Sure Thing then, like me, you’ll be dyyyyying to know what the heckerino Daisy was up to while Violet was pretending to be her (Daisy). Well Plan B answers all those burning questions and delivers a hilarious RomCom to-boot.
Daisy is on a diet. A cleanse if you will. I’m going to say a man-cleanse because I think the Amazonian powers that be won’t allow me to suggest it’s a cleanse of the penile variety. However, four months into this diet, she meets a gorgeous man who makes her forget all the promises she’s made to herself. And while she’s asleep in post-coital bliss, he leaves without a word, note, or phone number instead choosing to abscond with Daisy’s camera. Let’s fast-forward a number of weeks and darling Daisy realized that it’s not a matter of wanting to get in touch with Kyle, it’s a matter of need. As in, he neeeds to be told he’s going to be a daddy. When Daisy can’t find another way to get in contact with Kyle, she decides the best option will be to gatecrash his grandfathers retirement party and announces to all and sundry that she’s Kyle’s fiancé.
From the very first pages, Aston had me laughing and highlighting. The characters and their descriptions are vibrant and fun; you can’t help but fall in love with them and cheer them on – with jazz hands and all. Kyle and Daisy are complete opposites yet they complement each other perfectly and Aston’s sense of humor – which appeals to me insanely – was on every single page. I wait for each new book from this author with eager anticipation and I actually had this arc waiting for dayyyyyyys before I read it because I knew once I started it, it would be last book of hers for some time which is sad!
While you certainly don’t need to read Sure Thing before Plan B, I definitely suggest you read it because it is was just so damn good! I always recommend Jana Aston if anyone is in need of a good RomCom as she always delivers and Plan B is no exception.
*I voluntarily read an early copy of this book.
**Reviewed by Melinda for Joandisalovebooks Blog.
I was such a giggly mess while reading this book. If you’ve read any book by this author before, then you know what you’re getting yourself into.
Here’s what you need to know: vow of celibacy gone wrong. In the most hilarious way. I freaking love Daisy. She was spunky, witty, and so damn sarcastic. The perfect addition to my ever-growing love of Jana Aston characters. The different things that she finds attractive were simply perfect. Ties and handkerchiefs? I’m totally down for those now.
And Kyle? Geezus he killed me. I love how he just went with it. His bemusement with Daisy quickly turns into something so charming that I couldn’t wait for the next chapter where we got his point of view. He humors her throughout the book, and in doing so he became the swooniest character I’ve read in a while.
Add in the twinning moments between Daisy and Violet, and the cameo of all cameos (OMG I died!), and this book is officially my top read of the summer.
Jana Aston definitly my go to author if I want to have a good laugh. Unfortunetly I can’t read her books in public cause yes, she’s just that crazy with her wicked, dirty, crazy sense of humor.
Daisy is perfect example for that. She’s adventurous. Ms. I am fun not clingi kinda girl so let’s have fun while it last kinda girl. She spent her young age being adventurous spreading her amour to the male population. Unfortunetly they all are jerks. That’s why she decide she’s having a D diet.
Yep all’s good until Kyle.
Kyle Kingston is total opposite than Daisy. She know this man is trouble for he make her cheat her D diet. But what hurt can it make from one night stand? Beside unexpected pregnancy because apparently Kyle use an old expired protection and a missing camera???
Yep all’s good until Kyle wants a marriage of convenience.
Except, what if it’s not convenience at all?
I mean, with their great chemistry in bed. Or how attentive and mature Kyle is. Or how pregnancy hormones always makes her hot just by seing her husband loose his tie every night. Or how she’s so ready to give her luvin everytime Kyle read her all about taxes.
Yep all’s good conveniently until the evil witch called ex and uncertainty comes along
Jana writes men you instantly love and women you want to be best friends with. Plan B is hilarious, sweet and sexy. I know I’ll read it again because it made me that happy.
What a fun book! If you have read Sure Thing, which you don’t have to read before this one, you get to see what Daisy was up to when she asked her twin sister to do a switcheroo at Daisy’s touring job. I found Daisy and Kyle’s book to be just as funny and entertaining as Violet and Jennings.
Daisy and Kyle were such an opposites attract couple that really just clicked. He handles her crazy very well and their banter is what made this entertaining for me. I also like that he wasn’t what I would have expected for her.
There was a little surprise appearance in this book that I just loved, and that epilogue was dreamy! This book went way too fast for my liking. I want more but not because the author didn’t leave me satisfied, she just had me loving these two so much. I highly recommend if you want a fun, low angst read!
That has to have been the best read of the year so far!
Oh Daisy! Your a star and the best comic female character I’ve read for ages…well since Violet 😉
The best thing about Plan B is the chemistry. No one does insta attraction like Jana and mix that with the LOL moments, the things we’ve all thought during our inner monologue….just never wrote down…and a hit you in the tum love story with the perfect HEA and you’ve got a perfect read. I smiled all the way through, it was like me and my hubs story (Jana when did you meet my hubs?? He might not have Kyles abs anymore but he’s just as patient ), a sprinkle of my BBF Luke (yes he’s mine, call me Sophie) and you’ve got a fabulous feel good read for the summer.
After reading Sure Thing I knew Daisy would have a good story and I wasn’t disappointed. I would recommend reading Sure Thing first just for continuity’s sake as it happens across the same timeline, just somewhere else. Cleverly entwined and beautifully written, thank you Jana for the opportunity to get first dibs on your stories. Rom-Com forever
This book!!! Can I have a Kyle? Please? I laughed out loud so many times. Daisy was hilarious and Kyle was just so swoon worthy. I read this in one sitting. I love Jana’s writing and can’t wait to see what’s next.
Jana Aston has absolutely become my go-to author when I want to read a laugh out loud story that’s going to keep me smiling and giggling long after I’ve turned the last page.
I first met Daisy in Jana’s story, Sure Thing. She’s the twin sister of Violet, and she’s the one that started Violet’s whole journey in that book by talking her into filling in on her tour guide job for a week while Daisy takes care of “something”. Well, now we know what that “something” was!
Daisy cracked me up from beginning to end in this book! Girl has no filter on her thoughts at all, and the direction her thoughts go most of the time were just hilarious to me. And when she finds out she’s pregnant and wants to tell the baby daddy about it, she concocts a pretty out there plan to deliver her news.
Even though Daisy is a free spirit and shoots from the hip most of the time, she really does want the best for her baby and I was impressed with the decisions she made in how she wanted her pregnancy to go and how she wanted Kyle to be involved if he chose to be. And Kyle, well he was nothing like I expected him to be. He and Daisy are two total opposites. He’s analytical and composed and she flies by the seat of her pants. But they actually complemented each other perfectly, and it was just heartwarming to see their interactions. When Daisy would go on a tangent or get worked up over something, Kyle would masterfully steer her back to sanity like a seasoned pro.
This story is SO funny! Daisy is an absolute riot. And my favorite character of the story was Tubbs McGee! SO many cute scenes between him and Daisy. We get a cameo apearrance from a character in Jana’s very first book, and that just made me miss them so much and hope Jana does another story or novella or something with them again very soon!
This story is low on the angst meter which I was so very happy about. Even though Kyle isn’t very forthcoming on some very pertinent information with Daisy and there’s a bitchy ex-girlfriend hanging around, those situations are resolved smoothly and I didn’t end up wanting to bitch slap anyone, so WIN! LOL! The epilogue is just heart melting and had me smiling huge. I so, so hope we’re going to see much more of Daisy and Kyle in the future!!
Added to my favorites of 2019.
If you’ve read book 1 (Sure Thing) and you’re like me, you have been WAITING for Daisy’s book. I will say I remember hoping it was a #hatefuck book. But what Jana has given us is 100 times better. I one night stand turned pregnancy.
Daisy is everything we knew she would be from her interactions with Violet in book 1. I laughed more times then I can count. I snickered, I snorted, I gasped. It was wonderful. I loved her spunk, her whit, her ‘get what I came for attitude’.
I whelped a bit by the Colechester reference. I love that Jana and Sierra have added these little things within their books for each other. It makes my heart melt.
Then you have Kyle. OMG is he ever book boyfriend material. I mean be prepared to swoon and maybe change some panties. I love his love of oral sex, maybe not as much as Daisy loves it, but DAMN SON!!!
Ok one thing I want and I hope Jana will read this or my post in Grind Me. We NEED a baby shower novella.
~I volunteered to read an advance copy.
What happens if your not-so-carefully planned out life takes a left turn? Everyone should have a Plan B, right?
Jana Aston’s latest romantic comedy, Plan B, is a hilarious second installment in her Best Laid Plans series. Daisy is first introduced in the absolutely adorable “Sure Thing”, where she has forced her identical twin sister, Violet, to cover for her at work for a week. In Plan B, readers discover the reason behind Daisy’s needed twin switcheroo.
I adored Daisy. Ms. Aston has a knack for creating relatable, quirky heroines who have the perfect balance of self-esteem and self-doubt. No whiny self-loathing, just pure-gold, crazy inner-dialogue. The author creates women who are naturally appealing and reflect the thoughts, desires, doubts that most of us harbor. I don’t know how much of the author is in her heroines, but I feel like she has captured some part of me in each of them.
“Kyle overfeeds me too. I wonder if I’m also a rescue project.”
When Daisy hunts down her one-night-stand-turned-baby-daddy, the laughs begin. Since the woman is not much for planning, she easily gets in over her head rather easily! Kyle Kingston—the baby daddy–is yet another example of the author’s fantastic leading men. Again, Aston gives her readers exactly what they desire most, a successful in his field, slightly more experienced, gorgeous hunk. Kyle must have some flaws, right? I only saw a guy who made a couple small mistakes as a result of protecting the family legacy/image. The guy is near perfect and totally lovable.
The secondary characters are equally endearing. Kyle’s sister, Kerrigan, is delightful. Her bubbly energy is charming. I would have loved a little more of the Kingston grandparents.
Ms. Aston’s natural comedic timing is evident throughout the book. The elevator scenes with Kyle’s neighbor are laugh-out-loud funny. Whether a comedic scene or a sexy scene, the author’s writing flows. The plot is realistic and focused. The characters and dialogue always felt organic, no matter how zany the situation. The vibe between Daisy and Kyle is absolutely electric!
The straightforward storyline and engaging characters make Plan B by Jana Aston a funny, quick read. The mild conflict and easy resolution make for a perfect reading escape. A super fun read that I highly recommend.
