The two of them are not compatible on the surface. Is all they really need just a little puppy love to nudge them in the right direction?

Absolutely perfect holiday read: it’s festive, sweet, satisfying, full of great characters and dogs and small-town personality.
This was a short read for me and an excellent way to spend a couple hours.
Good characters, and not just people. Hilarious family dynamic and so much charm!
Wouldn’t mind reading more but no cliffhanger.
4 stars.

This is a sweet small town romance. I thought it was cute and the characters were good. I liked the interaction between the main characters. It was fun to watch them learn more about each other after their initial meeting. I liked the secondary characters as well. I think others will enjoy reading this too especially if they like a quick light read.
I loved this well written book that has great characters and a smoothly written storyline. The chemistry between the characters is strong from start to finish making for smooth flowing storyline.

Pizza Pockets and Puppy Love is a short, sweet romance. This introduction to small-town Lantern Lake is a very good read. It has wonderful characters who I am sure will become central to future books. In this book we meet Gail, Robert and Murphy the dog and this is their story. This book subtly mentions other family members and I am looking forward to finding out more about the brothers and seeing how Gail and Robert get on over time. I enjoyed this book, even though it is much shorter than I like it still felt like a proper story. I definitely recommend it.

A great start to the Lantern Lake series. I fell in love with the characters and the story line. It’s the perfect read for the holiday season. This is book one in the Lantern Lake Series. Each book can be read as a stand alone but you’ll have more background to the story lines and characters of each book if you read them in order. Don’t miss the chance to add this series to your reading list.

This is book one in the Lantern Lake series. Gail’s life is currently in turmoil as she is let go from her job and moving in with her pregnant little sister. She has her constant companion, her German Shepard, Murphy. When Murphy starts sneezing blood the world stops and Gail is looking for the closest vet. Gail finds Robert. These two met previously and did not seem to feel at all so this visit is a little awkward but it’s all about Murphy now. Can Murphy be the gel these two characters need for a second chance? This is a quick, short story read but it is packed with details and great characters. A great start for a new series. Enjoy!

Book one in the Lantern Lake series, a short well written story. Murphy a German Shepard owned by Gail Evans is taken to vet Robert McAllister because of something that happened when she was travelling to stay with her sister. I enjoyed reading their story. Robert and Gail get off on the wrong foot when they first meet and he thinks she’s not a responsible dog owner. But her concern for Murphy when he’s sick, how much she accomplished as temporary office manager of his vet clinic, and how well she fits in with his relatives changes his view of her. But her stop in Lantern Lake is only temporary. Can he convince her to stay? I loved Murphy and Robert’s two boxers, but I am a dog lover. Robert was a little bumbling with his feelings trying to convince her to stay, but I found that endearing. Gail’s former boss was a piece of work firing her and then thinking she’d come running back without any additional incentives when he wants her back. She must have been so scared, out of work, and dealing with a potentially large vet bill when Murphy became sick. That was a scary moment, but there were plenty of funny and sweet ones in this novella too.
I have always loved books with dogs in them. This one is a great read. Dogs are special and help us thru good and bad times in our lives. When Murphy, Gails German Shepard starts sneezing blood she knows if she doesn’t get him to a vet ASAP she might not have her best friend anymore. But can the vet, Robert save Murphy before it’s too late and maybe find his one and only along the way…

I thought this was a super cute novella that gave us the small town romance and am amazing family dynamic that made you feel like you belonged with them. Gail is down on her luck after being laid off her job and being replaced by someone with less experience and then her dog ends up sick so she drives to the nearest vet. She is struggling, but she finds herself working off her debt to the vets and at first Robert has made judgements against Gail and treats her kind of like crap then he realizes he misjudged her so they started over. They end up realizing they have a lot in common and a chemistry that’s hard to deny. I loved this read and I wish we could get more about these two because they were so cute and I would love to read about Robert’s brothers.
Gretchen S. B. delivered a heartwarming and sweet romance that will fill your romantic heart. Especially if you love small town romances like me. This was my first book by Gretchen and I was blown away with how sweet and romantic this book was!! Definitely picking up next book up. Happy reading!!
Gail and Murphy, her German Shepard, were on their way to her sisters house to stay for awhile. She had pulled over at rest stop to let Murphy relieve himself. As she was letting him out of the car, she ran right into a guy that was passing by. He was very rude to her because she was not paying attention to what she was doing.
As they were back on the road, she noticed that something was wrong with her baby. She put the nearest vet into her GPS and got there as fast as she could. Upon opening the door to the office, she did not see anyone there. The guy that came out of his office turned out to be the rude guy from earlier. She was not ready for another confrontation from this guy again.
Will he be able to help Murphy or will he fall for the woman in front of him? You have to read the book to find out.
