This story was first seen in the Mists and Moonrise multi-author boxed set that is no longer published. However, this is the extended version with a new cover, and never-before published scenes, as well as an epilogue with a surprise ending. This is the story of the secondary character, Brody from the Legendary Bastards of the Crown Series. Brody’s story picks up where it left off in Reckless Highlander – Book 3 of the Legendary Bastards of the Crown Series. It is best to read the Legendary Bastards of the Crown Series first. Also, it would be good to read the Seasons of Fortitude Series before this, so it doesn’t ruin the surprise in the epilogue. Either way, the book can still be read as a stand alone.
Watch for more stories in the Second in Command Series to follow. Each will be a stand-alone book featuring a secondary character from one of Elizabeth’s many series.

Great introduction!
I have just discovered Elizabeth Rose’s first story in the Second in Command series. I really enjoyed her novella titled ‘Pirate in the Mist’. Omg, If you want to read some wonderful short novellas filled with lovely romance, then you won’t be disappointed with Ms. Rose’s series. Even if it’s part of a series, this short and fun novella can still be read as a stand alone.
It tells the story of Brody, captain of the Sea Mirage and Gwendolen, a fisherman’s daughter. Together they will embark on a wild journey filled with twists and turns. When his crew starts a mutiny, Brodie is thrown overboard and lands on a deserted island where he is rescued by the Gwen and her father. As a fisherman her father soon recognize a wild pirate. Brody only wants revenge against an old man responsible for the upheaval. As soon as he is aboard his rescuer’s ship, during a sea storm, Gwen falls into the raging sea but Brody jumps to rescue her. Danger lurks around these two new friends. Is love possible between an ex-pirate and a fisherman’s daughter?
I have not read the other books in Ms. Rose’s second in command series except this one. I read the legendary bastards at the Crown Series and I always wondered what happened to Brody and now I know. If you’re looking for a lot of Adventure and not much intrigued then this book will definitely be for you. It is a very sweet Romance. I usually don’t read them but I liked this one.
What a lovely sweet clean romance. There was no real action for a pirate story, but I thoroughly enjoyed the emotional side to this story. A bit corny but it still had me turning the pages. Very much a HEA story and well worth the read. Thank you Elizabeth Rose for a couple of enjoyable reading hours and a lovely set up for future stories. Looking for ward to them.

___________
Pirate in the Mist by Elizabeth Rose is another extraordinary Historical read by Ms. Rose. It is fast paced, a novella and very entertaining. This is the story of Brody, who only became Captain of Sea Mirage for a very short time, when he was made to “walk the plank”, by his crew. I enjoyed learning more of Brody’s story. And Gwen was a perfect match for him, although, she is a bit naive about her father and brothers being pirates. A riveting tale for sure! Recommended for fans of “Legendary Bastards of the Crown” and “Seasons of Fortitude” Series. While, “Pirate of the Mist” can be read as a stand alone, it DOES reveal some details from these two stories, as well. Not necessary to enjoy PIRATE OF THE MIST.
Great for an afternoon read! Can’t wait to read more this new and exciting series.
