From best selling author, Annie Seaton, a beautiful story of female friendships, and the unbreakable bond that sees friends stay together through the ups and downs of life. When Pippa Carmichael inherits a house on a deserted tropical island, it couldn’t have come at a better time for her. Life’s been tough lately; she’s lost her job, given her boyfriend the flick, and now it’s time for her to … now it’s time for her to make a new start. With her two best friends, Pippa heads off to Pentecost Island to investigate her inheritance and is surprised to find there is another resident on the island.
Reclusive author, Rafe Rendell, is not impressed when a boatload of women turns up on his island, interrupting his peaceful existence. He is less impressed when he meets Pippa, the sassy new owner of Ma Carmichael’s sprawling house.
Can these two live in harmony on the same small island, or is Pippa’s dream destined to fail?

I thoroughly enjoyed this story, I read it in one sitting today, it is a beautifully told story, set on Pentecost Island in The Whitsundays, we get to know Pippa and Rafe two people who have been hurt in the past and both deserve happiness, I hope that you will pick this one up and enjoy it as much as I did.
Pippa Carmichael has just lost her job and dumped her boyfriend when she receives a letter that could be the making of her, she has inherited an island, an island she spent her teenage years on with her Aunt Vi, now she is going to make her dreams come true with the help of her best friends Nell and Tam off they go to Pentecost Island only to discover that she shares the island with a recluse, someone who may not agree with the plans Pippa has for the island.
Rafe Rendell has been living on Pentecost Island for two years now after moving from England and loving his solidarity, he is far from impressed when a boat turns up with three woman onboard, when he meets the new owner Pippa he is even more unimpressed by her plans for the island, and getting to know her is not easy considering how well he got on with her Aunt when he purchased his half of the island.
Maybe Aunt Vi knew something when she sold half of the island to Rafe, she always wanted Pippa to return to the island she knew this was the place that made her feel strong and good about herself, and Rafe he needed to put the past behind him and look to the future and his career. Their first meetings are feisty and it takes a tree and a long chat to get them to open up, but the future looks great for them both and I am looking forward to the next book in the series to see where they are heading. This really is a great story, a story about friends, true friends who are there for each other and a romance thrown in, thank you MS Seaton, this is one I highly recommend.
PIPPA is a standalone read. It is the first of a new series. There are 4 young women determined to set up a resort on an island off the coast of Australia. Pippa has inherited 1/2 the island plus the house that has been there for generations. Pippa seems to court bad decisions. Her latest is the boyfriend that she allowed to use her both financially and emotionally. She is determined to get her life in order and make better decisions.
Her two best friends are at a dead end in their lives and are ready for something new. They join Pippa on the adventure. Each will have a main job and then pitch in to do whatever needs doing. There is a 4th girl that joins them. She was friends at uni and she now runs a landscaping business. She is going to get the overgrowth in order. The girls/women are turning 30 in a few months.
The ending. Now this is up for grabs as to whether it is HEA or a cliffhanger. The book does end with a lot of irons in the fire that will be all explained in future books. The ending shows the girls are on their way to achieving their dream. There are a lot of unanswered questions and love affairs that will be explained in future books so in a way it does end and it does have somewhat of a cliffhanger. I was happy with the ending as it was until I read another review and it suggested the cliffhanger. So, it will be up to you to decide which. I am anxious to see what happens in the next book. I know another girl will find love and that will be a good story so I am happy with the books so far and I would definitely recommend this read.
I was not paid for this review. I am not a writer nor do I know one. I am not kin to this author. I am a reader and this is my opinion, nothing more, nothing less. 2/16/2020
This is a very slow burn of a Story and so far no romance, it was left with a cliff hanger and it must be read as a series at this point. Outside of the ending it was a good start to a story, the 3 girls are fun to read about and also to learn about moving/living on an island. We meet Rafe and he turns into a loveable guy that hopefully has more of the story in the rest of series. I liked how the girls were all working together but built each other up to complete the dream so far.
So far it’s nice, clean, team girl friends of a story. I look forward to the rest of the series and to find out what happens with the girls and well the mystery at the end!

This looks like a fun, new series. I can’t wait to see what happens next. Girls with baggage, lost jobs, exes etc decide to make a new beginning together. They’ve been tight since their school days and lift each other up. Pippa has inherited half an island and has big plans. Could the recluse on the island stand in her way? Is the project too big for them?
I haven’t travelled to this area of Australia in many years so it was lovely to revisit through the eyes of the author.
Great read, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
A sweet, clean, tropical island story. I loved the characters and think this is a great start to a new series. I didn’t like the cliffhanger! So many unknowns.. 😉

Pippa – I loved this book and then I reached the end, a cliffhanger! I still love this story with its variety of storylines and the likeable, enjoyable characters and the emotions and the humor.
For a bit, Pippa was acting the idiot but she straightened out and was actually a good person. Her best friends and loving Aunty Vi made for a good supporting group. Well thought out, especially the cliffhanger – over my dismay now, the story flowed from page to page and too soon came the cliffhanger. I did mention the cliffhanger? Anyway, I am looking forward to the next bit of this series.
The easy to read writing style and the interesting descriptions gave an interesting read full of emotions, yet did not rip your heart out. So the story is full but not depressing; with the dark, comes the light. The reader still participated in this delightful, heartwarming world of Ms. Seaton’s. I found this book on Booksprout. 5*
Worth the Wait – This is my first read by this author and I enjoyed this delightful romance mixed with a bit of intrigue. Of course, it helps that it is set New South Wales, Australia.
Interesting storylines blend together well with a good cast of characters and the author’s talent of storytelling. Her vivid descriptions build a great picture of everything from characters to locations to emotions.. awe
The writing style is laid back making it easy to get lost within the pages. I found this book on Booksprout. 4*
