In this Brooklyn Bruisers romance, a hockey goalie has to trust his instincts, even when taking a shot to the heart… play-offs, Beacon sees his chance to make things right.
Lauren hates that she’s forced to travel with the team she used to work for and the man who broke her heart. There’s still undeniable sexual tension running between her and Mike, but she won’t go down that road again. She’s focused on her plans for the future—she doesn’t need a man to make her dreams of motherhood come true.
Lauren plays her best defensive game, but she’s no match for the dark-eyed goalie. When the field of play moves to Florida, things heat up on the beach.
One of Mike’s biggest fans doesn’t approve—his teenage daughter. But a true competitor knows not to waste the perfect shot at love.

I love Sarina Bowen Brooklyn Bruisers Series. The character’s are great and I enjoy the overlap of each story.
My absolute favorite of this series. I loved Mike and Lauren’s second chance at love storyline. Their chemistry is sizzling and their journey bittersweet. Loving all the characters and their books. A must read!
I love the Brooklyn Bruisers. I have to be honest here, I know nothing about hockey, but I love hockey romance novels. I love sports, I’m that kind of girl, but we don’t hockey in my country. Sad but true. Anyway, I just can’t get enough of it, and nobody does hockey romance quite like Sarina Bowen.
I love everything Sarina Bowen writes because she’s an extremely talented writer. She’s smart and witty and smart. I mean it, she’s really smart. I love how she builds the worlds her stories live in, how relatable and real her characters are, the way she tells each story. She’s a master at making you laugh and cry, sometimes even at the same time. She writes stories full of heart and soul, and it shows.
Pipe Dreams is the third book in the Brooklyn Bruisers series, but it can be read—and fully enjoyed—as a standalone. I recommend reading them all because they are all amazing, but the order is up to you. Pipe Dreams is a story about second chances and forgiveness, and it is truly beautiful.
Mike Beacon is the star goalie of the Bruisers and a single father. Two years ago he had some difficult (try impossible) decisions to make and so he let the love of his life go. Now he has the opportunity to win her back, and he’ll do whatever is necessary to get the job done.
Lauren Williams is ready to make some changes in her life. She’s about to make the most important one when suddenly her life is thrown out of balance by her boss, who sends her back to manage his hockey team temporarily. The same hockey team his ex-boyfriend plays for.
I love Pipe Dreams very much. It’s emotional and steamy and fun. I love the fact that it’s set in different timelines, so you get to experience their past relationship. It’s an enemies to lovers story, so it shines with tension and emotion. The banter is great. And I particularly enjoy when the single parent is the guy. Makes it more fun. And it is hilarious at times.
I recommend reading everything Sarina Bowen has ever written because she is, in my opinion, one of the best writers I have had the pleasure of reading, and Pipe Dreams is a great example of how good she is. As I said before, her hockey is extraordinary and the Bruisers are an amazing series. You should give this book a try. Trust me, you won’t be sorry. Probably addicted, but never sorry.
A sweet book of a reconnected couple after a tragedy. A good guy trying to do the right thing by his daughter, and a woman trying to save herself from more heartbreak.
I love hockey romance books and this one did not disappoint me. I loved Mike and Lauren’s story and their second chance. I enjoyed the characters, neither was perfect but for me, they worked. I liked the storyline and the fact that there was lots of hockey playing.
This is one of those books where everything was just perfect to me. All of it! Mike and Lauren’s history, them reconnecting, and the build to it all. Hockey. Teenage drama. Tension and angst. I loved it all. The first two books were awesome but I have to say, this is my FAVORITE book in the series so far!!!
A love story about a man who’s wife cheated on him, the woman he loved after their divorce, only to find out his ex has cancer and he leaves the other woman. Years later he realized that he never stopped loving her and he wants to be a part of her life again

Pipe Dreams was the third book in the Brooklyn Bruisers series by Sarina Bowen. It was another enjoyable hockey themed addition to the series.
Mike Beacon was the starting goalie for the Bruisers. He was also a widow and a single father to a teenage daughter.
Lauren Williams was a beautiful workaholic yet also a high strung and pessimistic assistant to the Bruisers owner.
Mike and Lauren had history. To understand the intricacies of their history, the storyline bounced around between the present and the past until we were caught up to the present. Bowen then began building the second Chance story.
I liked the premise and even the direction of the story, to an extent. What I didn’t like was Mike’s attitude. For a competitive professional NHL goalie, he wasn’t as much a fighter in his personal life as I would expect. And he really needed to grovel more for my liking. If he really wanted a second chance with Lauren, I felt he would have done things differently, thus my 3.5 star rating versus a true 4.0. With that said, I liked the last third of the book and Bowen’s conclusion of the story.
I also liked how Bowen tied her series together. The story picked up where the last book left off and the Bruisers were working towards a playoff berth for the Stanley Cup. The books fed off each other and continued to showcase the whole team as the supporting cast of characters. Next up is Nate and Becca in Brooklynaire.
There were a few editing errors, primarily missing and extra words, so hopefully those can be cleaned up for future editions.
All in all, it went fairly quickly and was an enjoyable read. It was even a better bonus reading it while watching the real Stanley Cup final series simultaneously. Although not necessary, it added to my excitement and enjoyment.
Holy Hotness!! This was my favorite so far! Pipe Dreams was the third and final book in Sarina’s Brooklyn Bruisers series but don’t worry, it continues in her Brooklyn Series! I remember Lauren from Brooklynaire, which I read awhile ago (a little out of order since it was the first book in her Brooklyn Series). I knew there had to be more to her than her prickly exterior. It was hot, sexy, and utterly sweet!
Years ago, Mike made a tough choice which lost him one of the best things in life, Lauren. He knew there was still something between them, you could cut the tension with a knife. But how could he get her to give him a second choice?
Lauren was done with men; she was a strong woman and could do whatever she wanted on her own. But somehow Mike started to weave his way back into her life. Could they get their happily ever after this time or would his daughter keep them apart?
What a second chance! Mike did what was right at the time, even though it might have cost him several good years. Lauren melted my heart with his daughter!! Such a great ending to a heartbreaking journey!
Loved each book in this series.
Love the series
I really enjoyed this book
Love this series!
I am so totally in love with this book! i could not put it down 🙂
Oh man i fell hard for Mike ,he is such an amazing guy ,he really messed up with Lauren and i totally get why she didn’t want to be around him ,once he tells her everything they both start to move on from the past ,he knows that Lauren is the one for him and he does everything to win her back 🙂 i loved that they were able to get back to what they once had and i am so totally in love with them as a couple !
I love Lauren ,now i get why she was so cold to everyone ,what Mike did was so awful ,i get why he did it but he should have been honest with her, she hasn’t been able to trust anyone since and now she is forced to travel with the team and be around him the more she misses what they once had ,after they have a blow out and she tells him how she feels ,Mike finally see’s all the damage he caused with how he ended their relationship and he does everything to make it up to her ,she finally gives him a 2nd chance and it’s great ,they both still love each other 🙂 they are pretty perfect together !
I loved this series so much ,i can’t get enough of it ! Sarina Bowen writes characters that will have you rooting for them 🙂
he one thing you can guarantee with Sarina Bowen is you will get a fantastic book well for me every time I read one I love it. This is the 3rd book in the Brooklyn Bruisers series and I am loving this series. This will be a series I could easily read over and over again.
Being the 3rd book I wasn’t sure what to expect the other two books had such different story lines and this one was no exception. The fact this was a second chance love story with a single father who was a hot hockey player but what dealt a pretty crappy hand.
Mike Beacon was an honorable guy and that’s what I loved most about him, he always did what he thought was right even if it meant hurting people he loved. I loved seeing the relationship between Mike and his daughter Elsa and also their friend Hans I loved the chemistry between the 3 of them.
I enjoyed Lauren’s character in the other books she seemed really closed off and quite icy towards everyone and finally you find out why in this book, I loved seeing her thaw out and become a really great person. Lauren was very independent and strived for what she wanted and what she believed in, but when a certain Hockey Player broke her heart putting herself back together was hard, it was great to read how she put herself together and what she was achieving after the breakup, she had great tenacity and independence.
Loved everything about this book the back and forth between the characters, the intense hockey games, the romance, the family bonding. In the end I really loved the message this book brought and reading on how broken family brings themselves together.
Fantastic book and if you love Hockey romance you have to read this series you won’t be disappointed, well I wasn’t anyways.
For the past year, I’ve been a huge Sarina Bowen fan. Once I finally discovered her. I will always read anything that she puts out and her Brooklyn Bruiser series has been fun from the start. I’ve always wanted Lauren’s story. She’s the uptight assistant that we met a while ago and I was dying to figure out what happened to make her the way she was. So needless to say, I was excited for this book.
Lauren has a history with hockey and the love of her life left her 2 years ago. While her boss may own the Brooklyn Bruisers, her role to him has kept her away from the former pleasure that now causes her pain. However, circumstances cause Lauren to be right back in the hight of the team and now facing her former lover.
I won’t get into much more. I think you need to read this on your own without an opinion. However, I personally couldn’t connect as much as I wanted to. There was a specific part of the story that kind of pushed my connection a bit backwards and I never regained it. I’m 100% sure that it is a me situation and others will totally be OK with it. In fact, if you know my reviews, I can only overcome this scenario with one particular author. That isn’t fair to Sarina, I know, that but I have to be honest.
Please don’t misunderstand my 3 star rating. I really did enjoy this book. As I said, I’ve been waiting for Lauren’s story. I just wasn’t fully connected. However, I think a lot of people will really love this one. If you are looking for a second change romance with a hero that wastes no time in showing how much he needs this reconnection, then this is the book for you. Mike (hero) has total swoon potential.
I like all things Sarina Bowen. There’s no book of hers that I don’t like. Not possible. And this proves it. I can’t say that Mike and Lauren’s story is my favorite, but it’s still very emotional and sweet with touches of really funny as only Sarina can write. The beginning, say it was the introduction, flashbacks, of their first try at relationship – it made it a bit difficult for me to follow the story; but as soon as steady flow of story-line started, I couldn’t stop reading, not for a moment. Damn, but Mrs. Bowen writes some of the best hockey – and the sexiest players for sure! Pipe Dreams is a great addition to this amazing series. If you’re a fan of the sports romance and/or second chance romance, definitely give it a chance. Recommended!
I’ve really enjoyed all three of these books in this series. I thought it was a great second chance, single dad romance. I can’t wait for Becca and Nate’s story. I like those two the most!
Audible Review:
Overall 4*
Performance 4*
Story 4.5*
4.5*
This was a terrific second-chance romance! Lauren was such an enigma in the previous 2 books in the series that it was great to finally get in her head and to see things from her point of view. Actually, Mike was quite the mystery too. We never really got to know much about either one, but what a history we came to learn that the two shared.
I’m not sure I could have been as easily forgiving as Lauren was, when it came to the way things went down between them- it was very surprising. I honestly couldn’t believe how Mike handled things, it kind of ticked me off if I’m being honest. I really feel like he could have handled things much better, but I guess at the time he was between a rock and a hard place and believed he was doing what was best. Although I was angry with him, I did feel for him, as he was in a tough position.
As the story progressed I did become deeply invested in their reunion. Lauren had been so hurt by Mike’s actions and he was working so hard to make things up to her, he endeared himself to me. There’s no doubt that they both still loved each other so much.
I loved how strong and independent Lauren was. I loved that she had plans for herself and wasn’t going to let Mike’s reappearance in her life derail them. And I liked that Mike was so suportive.
Pipe Dreams was a sweet, emotional read.

Loving this hockey series so much! The narrators did a great job with these characters. Mike and Lauren’s story is an awesome second chance romance in addition to the exciting playoff hockey in it. Mike and Lauren have a bit of a rocky past but it is evident upon seeing each other again that their feelings for each other never really went away nor did their chemistry. Mike broke Lauren’s heart but he actually had a really good reason. Because she still loves him she gives him the chance to explain, and the rest is history.
I really enjoyed this story so much and how it plays out, where it goes, how we come to see where it was years earlier and even where it will be.
Lovable characters, super hot and steamy scenes, exciting hockey and great storytelling, will keep you invested from Chapter 1 !!
