A bit juvenile
It was a page turner had you guessing who was sending the pink slips. Very light reading.
There was a constant, palpable tension throughout the plot, as if you never knew when something else awful would happen. If you happen to love nail-biters this might be great for you; it just gave me such a feeling of panic I almost stopped reading it (and I usually LOVE thrillers). I kept on though. As other readers have stated, there was far too much detail. Let me specify that it was unnecessary detail. Clothing, cars, her dad’s favorite lemonade, and endless cups of coffee or tea — a lot of the details were just guns that were never fired. They seemed to tease that there was a risk, and there never was– it was just wordy waste. The whole business with the silent communication between the main character and her dog and/or her husband was flatly bizarre. I don’t discount the possibility, but it was awkwardly handled by introducing it in this novel.
The story line kept you guessing until the end. The writer has a great way of drawing out suspense and allowing the reader to feel the tension in the characters. Enjoyed the story very much!
This book had a main character that did very stupid things under her circumstances which made it hard to care about her. She irritated me.
Story was okay.
Too predictable. I don’t usually read 1st person book but this wasn’t I I I all the way. If I had not been reading from my phone, I would have trashed it.
You know that the person who is the #1 suspect is not going to be the culprit but I still did not figure it out.
Entertaining but predictable in the end.
It was hard to put it down. Never sure who was leaving the pink slips
Page Turner Suspense Novel of a stalker following a young woman even after leaving Chicago and moving to a small town. The story is exciting and has romantic elements. Heroine has a great Mom and Father to help her. Her husband is in a coma with someone trying to kill him. Characters are likeable and real.
This book sounded like it was going to be very exciting and rather scary. It ended up being neither. There were too many suspects, and it didn’t seem as if the police were doing their job very well. I also thought the main character was making poor safety choices as her life and the lives of her children were seriously threatened.
This book was a little too cutesy. I don’t believe the author has any idea what happens when one’s life is threatened. Still, I read the entire book…….
I already reviewed this book after I read it.
Excellent thriller. You just cannot figure out who the “bad guy” is until close to the end. Read in its entirety in about 18 hours; could not put it down.
Perseverance needed to finish.
Almost didn’t buy this book because of the title…job related. Glad I did. It was a real surprise. Loved the characters.the down side..ended abruptly and the fate of some of the more important characters are in limbo. I will read the next book in hopes of solving this delima.
I only just started reading it. Ask me Next week. Liz P
Interesting story with a true surprise at the end — the story is pretty fast paced and kept me wanting to continue to read when I had other things I needed to do.
This book was a classical whodunnit. I was kept in suspense until the end.
