Growing up in one of Florida’s fifty-five plus communities, Charlotte never expected life to be wild. Golf cart racing with her surrogate mothers Mariska and Darla was about as nutty as life got…until she found the hot pawnbroker’s mom buried in her backyard.
Talk about making a lousy first impression.
Armed with nothing but her wits, Pineapple Port’s questionable cast of characters and a … characters and a growing crush, Charlotte is determined to solve the mystery of Declan’s mother’s murder.
Hey, at least this guy’s skeletons aren’t in his closet.

I really enjoyed Pineapple Lies. It is a fantastic, fun and entertaining book. The characters are interesting and fun. The mystery is interesting and has many twists and turns to keep you guessing. This book has witty characters and dialogue, intrigue and romance. So much fun. I look forward to reading more of this series.
Cozy mystery is definitely NOT my normal genre, but Ms Vansant makes it such fun I’m totally hooked.
She has the ability to make you care for her characters and live their lives with them, no matter how unusual. Loved the warmth and authenticity of the “Golden Girls” characters, and Charlotte is one of my fave-ever contemporary heroines. Like a …
I worried after reading some of the negative reviews on this book but I tried it and I absolutely loved it! The characters were quirky but in a fun-quirky way, not a boring or irritating way. I especially loved the interactions between Charlotte, Darla and Mariska, the Three Trouble Musketeers. It made me want to move to Pineapple Port just to …

I received a free copy of Pineapple Lies: Pineapple Port Mystery 1 by Amy Vasant and this review was given freely. Read in March 2017.
Pineapple Lies started out a little slow and “Folksy” with our heroine Charlotte expressing her sarcastic wit and her thoughts going on multiple side tangents. Mariska , Darla, Bob and Frank ground the …
Well written, enjoyable and funny:
Reading this first book of a romantic mystery/comedy series was a big step for me as I tend to like straight-forward mysteries. The premise of a 20 something woman, not just living in, but having grown up in one of Florida’s senior communities piqued my interest. The backstory of Charlotte, the protagonist, is a …
Living in a 55+ communiy myself I like the characters and their livestyle.
20 something living in a 55+ retirement community with lots of ‘mothers’ to watch over her and she finds a body in her backyard….and everyone in the community wants to solve the mystery and find her a boyfriend too… funny stuff. Lookin forward to reading more from this author.
The idea of a 26 year old woman living in a retirement community is certainly unusual. The plot was interesting, and the cast of characters was quirky but charming. Best of all there were times the book was LOL funny.
Great read.
Good light summer reading, with some laugh out loud characters.
Was having a down day and this book totally had me laughing to tears
Set in a Florida senior community, this funny and entertaining cozy is the kind of G rated mystery many people like. Well written with a good group of the usual eccentric seniors and one young woman who finds a body in her yard. Light summer read.
This a hysterical…a twenty-six year old living in a retirement community. Raised by the surrounding people, she is quite at home with her golf cart, embroidery business in her shed, and the activities.
Between swimming, meals, card games and her “aunties” setting her up on dates, she is busy…..but feeling unfocused. So Charlotte decides to …
“Pineapple Lies” earns 5/5 Bones in the Garden!
Audio version narrator: Rosemary Benson
Charlotte has grown up in a fifty-five plus community since she was eleven. Her mother had passed and she went to live with her grandmother, but when she passed, Mariska, her grandmother’s dear friend, arranged to be her primary caregiver. She became a …
A light hearted romp thru a retirement community. A fun loving twenty something year old grows up among the residents after the deaths of her mother and grandmother. She is raised by most of the members of Pineapple Port, but especially Darla, Mariska and Gloria. Sheriff Marshall and Charlotte’s dog buddy Dizzy round out the central cast. …
