Born into chaos. Baptized in the gutter. I was raised by the violent laws of the streets, spilling blood without the hindrance of useless emotions or connections. Unfeeling. Unloved. Alone. My life was perfect.Until her. While on a manhunt for a mysterious enemy, one hellbent on taking both my business and my life, I find Mickey. She’s covered in mud, rambling nonsense, and clearly out of her … nonsense, and clearly out of her mind.
She’s also a distraction I don’t need.
That is until I discover a connection between the girl and my enemy.
Mickey isn’t a distraction anymore.
She’s the perfect weapon.
One I’ll use to exact my revenge.
The plan is an easy one, but there’s something about Mickey that’s making it more and more difficult.
A familiarity I can’t place. A need I can’t explain.
A want I have to deny.
After all, she’s not mine to keep. She’s a tool. My pawn.
My sacrifice.

Interesting characters and an extremely plot full of mystery, twist (and cliffhanger, but it has been said that it is duology, and therefore, has an upcoming book with the true ending).
Mickey is the main focus of the story, with a photographic memory, which ends up putting her in a serious problem, having to protect those she loves.
I didn’t feel connected to the story.
The covers are hot.

I was really hoping that Pike would get his own book when I was reading Nine and I was so excited when Ms. Frazier announced that she was indeed writing his book! I couldn’t wait to get inside Pike’s head and see who his heroine would be. I didn’t know what to expect going in and it’s been quite the ride reading his book and I loved it so much! Pike was full of suspense, heat, heartache, and moments that made my jaw drop, made yell, grab my head, and times that just shook me. It was hard to pull myself away at some points because this was a flipping fantabulous book and I can’t wait to see what happens next in Pawn!
I liked this one MUCH better than the last few King series novels. Pike is exactly the bad boy you want (in fiction, not real life, obviously). Mic was an amazing character as well. So this is a great read if you like dark, twisted romances.
My Rating: ****1/4
Type: Duet Series – Book1
Genre: Contemporary Romance, Romantic Suspense
Narration: Dual POV
Primary Characters: Pike and Mickey
Note: Ends with cliffhanger
This book is my first TM Frazier’s book. Pike is a man with many burdens upon his shoulders. He is trying to make something more of himself and not in a very illegal way. When he is trying to do an assignment with lot of money involved, things get messier. His shipment, investment and reputation has been stolen. While he is still recovering from this, he gets into another situation. In that case, Pike caught something ooorrr someone more likely. He couldn’t wrap his mind around that, because, he has met her before few years back for some brief moments.
“Torturing her is an unexpected pleasure. Watching her suffer only to steady herself and prepare for another round––it’s doing something to me.”
Michaela or Mickey is child genius with high IQ. She has a photographic memory. She comes off sweet and strong. She is intelligent and tries to make better out of the situation she is always caught in. Now that she is a captor, she has her own motives to not induluge the info Pike wants.
“What? You think only boys can be assholes? That’s sexist. This is twenty-twenty. People don’t think like that anymore”
Their entwined fate is getting thicker. I enjoyed the banter between them since the first moment they meet. Their strange situation as captive and captor complicate this strong pull between them.
Preppy’s guide to kidnapping? Priceless! I laughed so much at this! A Kidnappers Commandments: A Complete Guide to caring for your Captive!! I haven’t read his book, but I guess, it has something to do with it.
Secondary Characters: I haven’t met King, Preppy or Nine before, but I sort of liked them with their small interactions here. Throne was lovely. Totally liked Jo Jo, hopefully we will see more about her in next book.
Overall, I loved this one. It does end in a cliffhanger and the twist. It has explosive action, passion and intrigue and second book will release soon so you don’t have to wait much, give it a try.

Vivement !!
I couldn’t wait for Pikes book after meeting him in the Nine book. I was not disappointed. He is so complex but I love him ready for the next one!
I love all of her books! Pike is no exception! I can’t wait for the second book in this duet!
3.25-3.5 stars. This book was pretty good, but not my favorite by this author. Pike is book one in the Pawn duet and the beginning of Pike and Mickey/Michaela’s story. Pike is a drug dealer who sells gets drugs from sources in other countries in mass quantities and distributes them to the lower level dealers. He also owns a pawn shop. Mickey is very strong, but she has a tragic past and had excruciating losses that she wants to extract revenge for. She has a plan to get that revenge but things go bad, landing her on Pike’s doorstep. I don’t think I can say much more than that without spoiling the story. I’ll just say that this is a fast paced, twisty story full of action and suspense.
This was not a bad book. The story was interesting and easy to read. It kept my attention throughout and kept me wanting to read the next book in the duet. But I had a really hard time connecting to the characters and getting a grasp on their personalities. I felt like I knew facts about them, but that it was all surface level without much depth. I also felt very little chemistry between the couple. But the story and the writing were enough to keep my interest and my hope up that the next book will be a satisfying conclusion to this duet.
Overall, I enjoyed this book in general. I look forward to the conclusion of Pike and Mickey’s story and whatever Ms. Frazier comes up with next!
When the author first announced this book I may have squealed just a little…..ok a lot! Pike is a spinoff from one of my favorite series and I knew that I needed it in my life ASAP. I wasn’t disappointed. Pike takes us back to the beautiful Logans Beach. It was gritty and suspenseful & had me white knuckling my kindle the entire time.
Pike, this poor lost boy that does everything in life to hide how much he wants to be loved. He comes across Mickey, a genius of a girl that can’t make sense of the world, as in what is up or down; or right or left. Will that short kiss from years before be enough for either of them when they run into each other again?
Of course not! They are in Logan’s Beach…it’s time to bring on the suspense, angst, a little gun fire…oh, and Rage!
Doing my best not to spoil but if you aren’t reading this yet, you are so missing out! Grab it now!
Loved Pike!!!
Pike by TM Frazier is a fantastic story. It is book 1 of a duet so it is a cliffhanger. But I loved it. I love this world of Logan’s Beach that author TM Frazier has created with my favorite characters, especially King and Preppy, but can’t leave out Bear and Nine. Of course I love all the women characters, as well! Pike can be read even if you haven’t read the King series but why haven’t you read that? It’s awesome.
Seriously, though, Author TM Frazier had me hooked on Pike. I loved his character. He is sexy, tough, intimidating and totally alpha. My fave! Our heroine, Mickey is smart, beautiful, and sassy. Their story is told in alternating POV, which I love because I get to be in both their heads. I become privy to things the other character doesn’t know yet. Of course, that builds my anxiety as I’m like just tell him/her.
The push/pull is fantastic. The chemistry is palpable. I loved their banter. I became invested in their journey. Their story left me wanting more. It is a twisty rollercoaster ride that will have you shaking your head with WTF moments. I laughed out load at some of the one liners and situations the characters got into. I loved seeing my favorite Logan’s Beach characters and how they all fit into this story. I read this book cover to cover and cannot wait for book 2! Definitely recommend.

Oh my, where do I begin with this book. I was enthralled from the very beginning and had a hard time putting this one down. Pike and Mickey are drawn to each other and it’s like they can read each other’s thoughts. The push and pull between these two is what makes this book so good, it will definitely keep you on your toes and eager to turn the pages to find out what is going to happen. Of course, we have a cliffhanger and the ending will blow you away. I can not wait for the next book, I look forward to seeing these two again and see where this story goes for both of them.
I felt in love in T. M. Frazier’s writing since I read “King” and here we have first book in “King” spin-off “Pike”. Oh how the time flies. Especially when every next book steals you again and again. So once again will go to Logan’s Beach where everything can happen especially murder, revenge and mayhem.
“Logan’s Beach. It’s a town made up of equal parts sand and saints. Beach and blood. Saltwater and sins. Canals and chaos”
This story is definitely connected and is a continuation to the “King of the Causeway” when we saw Pike for a brief time. Even though it’s Pike’s and Mickey’s story and it may be read as a standalone the best way is to read previous stories as well cause our favorite characters will appear in this story such as King, Preppy and Nine. And I have my suspicion that we may see Bear too especially that some things may happen but I will tell you nothing more… Yup this story is another spoiler minefield.
As to characters I like them both equally. Pike’s and Mickey’s both encounters couldn’t be more crazy and from than things got even more complicated. And Mickey’s abilities are both equally an amazing gift as a curse. And I was so sorry of what she had to get through in her life after that one moment in her life four years ago that changed everything… And what she found out in the end just broke my heart in pieces… At the same time I can’t wait for second book sooo much. Cause all I can say here that the war is coming that will end for some characters hopefully with painful, brutal death and there will be only one King of The Causeway and hopefully happy ending in T. M. Frazier’s kind of way so we all know that these definitely won’t be easy to accomplish.
And that’s all I can say here without saying too much. Things in this story happens so fast especially near the end and cliff hanger will leave you with huge wtf happened here face… Believe I’m still not over it. That ending made me almost yell where is book two??!! Luckily we will get it soon. That’s definitely a must read and strong contender of my favorite books of 2020 list.
It seems like it has been forever since I found myself in Logan Beach, so the fact that TM Frazier sends readers back to where King and Bear were created, where the dark and dangerous find a way and a place to thrive comes with a set of preconceived ideas about her newest anti-hero and heroine.
Pike definitely fits the mold of many of Frazier’s anti-heroes, which makes sense, because anyone who is a part of King’s crew, even in a limited capacity, is a man to be feared, to see as a threat, but also to revel in his grittiness, his need to protect what’s his, and while he doesn’t want to see Mickey as anything but a pawn, as the story line continues and the sexual tension and push and pull between them builds, Pike’s singular view of Mickey becomes something that takes on a life of its own, complicating his life in ways he never thought he wanted and leading them both down a path that was never supposed to happen.
Mickey, because she’s viewed as Pike’s enemy, is supposed to be treated as a pawn, supposed to be seen as someone to be used for his benefit, but while there is definitely plenty of hatred on both sides, the emotions are not all negative, and that in and of itself is problematic because both Mickey and Pike have their own agendas to follow, their own objectives to be realized, but the fact that they are now in each other’s space makes everything more dramatic, more intense, and more dangerous, given the people gunning for one or both of them.
It was so great being back in this world; so many amazing stories have been told in this setting, and while it took me a bit to feel like there was a connection between Pike and Mickey, other than a heavy does of hatred, once she becomes something more than the pawn she’s supposed to be, I then moved on to figuring out just how everything was going to play out and with the cliffhanger readers were left with in book one, book two has a plethora of truths to reveal, and I can’t wait to see how it all is worked out.

Captivatingly gritty, this story had me on the edge of my seat the whole time, needing to know what happened next. Someone is seriously screwing with Pike, and he’s determined to find out who. What he didn’t expect is the girl that was captured in front of him several years earlier. Pike and Mickey couldn’t be any more different if they tried, but they are like magnets with an unbreakable connection. Seriously, once I started this one, I didn’t put it down until I was finished. And that ending…I need the conclusion to this one now.

TM Frazier has done it again and brought her A game with this one. She has a brilliant ability to give us a tale that captivates us from beginning to end, will leave you on the edge of your seat in anticipation for what is going to happen next and then leave you in serious anticipation of the next part of the Duet thanks to her clever cliffy’s!!
Absolutely love Pike and Mickey! the chemistry between them is off the charts insanely hot! We have been given another f**ked up hero to love <3
Being set in King's world it was lovely to see my favourite characters from her previous books. Mickey is a great addition to the kick ass women these men attract.
If you haven't read TM Frazier before then a) WHY b) DO IT NOW. Whilst this can be read separately from the other books in the King series I would recommend you start at the beginning as honestly you wont want the spoilers from this one to ruin all your emotions that you will feel when you read those phenomenal books
This book was everything I wanted for Pike. But talk about a slow burn! Mickey and Pike have that undeniable attraction but there’s a little something keeping them from acting on it. All I wanted was to push the two together and watch the sparks fly. The beginning of this duet definitely had mystery, suspense, twists and feisty flirtation coming off the pages. Killing me softly with all the words. Can’t wait to see what happens next.
If I thought T.M. Frazier’s writing couldn’t get any better, she proves me wrong with Pike. The overall storyline, the mood, the depth of it, I was purely blown away with every single word of it. With the development of Pike, the unexpectedness of Mickey, I am taking into a dark world of revenge, twists and turns that will have your jaw drop. I loved the sizzling passion. The unique storyline. I found myself lost back into Logan Beach and in love with everything. All I can say is bring on the second book!!!
“Love is a plague, infecting the masses with the lie of happily ever after.”
I always love returning to Logan’s Beach and I couldn’t put Pike down!!! Everything about him lured me in. His attitude, his protectiveness, his loyalty, his anger, everything about him screams badass mofo. Mickey is beyond smart, strong and a survivor. She actually really surprised me at times by her ability to adapt to any situation. This is a continuation of King of the Causeway so I would recommend reading it before Pike. I was not expecting the ending at all and can’t wait for the conclusion of this duet!!!
“I can already taste revenge on my lips. It’s not sweet. It’s sinful. It’s decadent. It’s downright fucking erotic.”
With each T.M. Frazier book that I read, I think they can’t possibly get any better and then. She proves me wrong. Each book just gets better and better, each story more dark, dangerous, sexy, and full of angst.
Pike is just epic. Angry, sexy, dirty talking man that he is just stole my heart. And Mickey? Well she’s not like any other book heroine. The strength and determination it takes to do what she’s doing just makes you root for her instantly.
I haven’t been reading much lately, but this book caught and held my attention all the way to the end. And of course that ending packed a huge punch. Eagerly awaiting book 2!
