Born into chaos. Baptized in the gutter. I was raised by the violent laws of the streets, spilling blood without the hindrance of useless emotions or connections. Unfeeling. Unloved. Alone. My life was perfect.Until her. While on a manhunt for a mysterious enemy, one hellbent on taking both my business and my life, I find Mickey. She’s covered in mud, rambling nonsense, and clearly out of her … nonsense, and clearly out of her mind.
She’s also a distraction I don’t need.
That is until I discover a connection between the girl and my enemy.
Mickey isn’t a distraction anymore.
She’s the perfect weapon.
One I’ll use to exact my revenge.
The plan is an easy one, but there’s something about Mickey that’s making it more and more difficult.
A familiarity I can’t place. A need I can’t explain.
A want I have to deny.
After all, she’s not mine to keep. She’s a tool. My pawn.
My sacrifice.

The Logan’s Beach gang is getting bigger!
This book fits right in with the rest of the King series. Pike is best friends with N9ne and he is working with King on a large deal which includes a lot of money when a gang of thugs rips him off. That gang tells Pike and N9ne to tell King that there is a new King of the Causeway in town.
This book takes place during the same time period as the last book, King of the Causeway, which I read and loved also. That book was centered on the relationship between King and Rae as she was pregnant. There are some points in this book that intersect with this one (such as the one above) that appear in both books. Another is the Hurricane that blows through Logan’s Beach.
Before Pike bought his Pawn shop and prior the deal that goes bad, Pike is driving down the road and sees this girl stumbling along. He stops to help her and she seems a bit crazy, especially because she is talking to her family that she thinks is with her, though nobody else is there. Pike drives her to her house, but they get ambushed by guys that are shooting, so she gives herself up and they take her away.
Four years later after Pike’s drugs have been stolen, Pike is looking into who this new player could be when the same guys break in to his Pawn shop and steal more drugs from him. However, as they are leaving, Pike catches one of them and it turns out to be the same girl he met before. Her name is Michaela, or Mickey. Pike keeps her captive and tries to get her to talk about who she is working with.
I am not going to give away what happens, but I will say that this book has some Preppy in it, which is almost an automatic 5 stars for me. I love him so much. He is absolutely crazy after his time in captivity but still as hilarious and lovable as ever. King appears a few times as well and he is the King of all bad boys, and as tough as can be. N9ne appears quite a few times as well. You just gotta love this group.
For a captive romance I thought this could be a bit steamier. There was a lot of sexual tension but Pike and Mickey were not intimate until late in the book. Though there is another book so I assume most of the hot and heavy stuff will happen then. Not that this book wasn’t spicy. It was and I really like Pike and Mic as a couple. I can’t wait for the next book!
One thing I thought was a bit odd, that was never mentioned in this book was how these thugs knew about the deal in order to stop it and steal the drugs. Pike and N9ne were on the highway at the time in a van with the product. Then when these guys broke into the pawn shop, they knew exactly where Pike kept his drugs (hidden in a painting). So where did these guys get the information? I hope that is answered in the next book.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
“A blend of rockstar, biker, and fallen angel…with the devil’s eyes.”
Logan’s Beach will be a place I’ll NEVER tire of visiting, because it holds some of my most favorite characters of all time!! Pike, like our dear Clearwater brothers who still hold my heart and most of my giggles, has been raised in the gutters, and wants absolutely nothing to do with emotional connections of any sort. He is focused on power, respect, and bloody revenge. In pops Mic and it all falls down!! Her story is crazy complicated and she keeps weaving in and out of Pike’s peripheral until he is powerless against the pull they share. The story gets even more muscle, and my jaw dropped to the floor more than once, until BAM the cliffy that has me salivating for the second book. These two are insanely hot, sinfully sexy, and I welcomed the burn!! Can’t wait to see how this story ends up!!
“An angel wearing a halo of hate and pain that penetrates my soul.”

The first book of this duet grabbed me and wouldn’t let me go. I have loved everything about the KING series…and PIKE did not disappoint!
Oh my! Pike is the first book in the Pawn Duet and TM Frazier has brought every dark, edgy deliciousness to a new level.
Pike (The Pawn Duet #1) by TM Frazier. If you are new to Pike, he is a owner of a pawn shop, loyal friend to Nine and the local molly dealer in Logan Beach. He was abandoned by his mother at 5, was in foster care and in and out of Juvie. For us who have been reading this author’s books we have been waiting for Pike’s story. He has been a character in several of her other books and now is his story, part of which we knew about in King of the Causeway. However Pike’s story begins one night after a delivery. He sees a disoriented young woman on a road looking like heck. Picking her up he tries to take her back to her parent’s rental where gunmen snatch her. 4 years later their paths cross again. Michaela aka Mickey. Mickey not only has a high IQ but a photographic memory. She has suffered a tragedy that has set her on a course that has her in direct contact with a guy she met 4 years ago. The initial attraction is still there but now they seem to be on opposite sides when she is caught robbing him at the pawn store. This was a good start to this series. Secrets were revealed. People where kidnapped and killed. And the ending left me in shock and awe, making my head wanting to explode due to the fact I have to wait for book 2. Thanks TM! She gets me every time and I love it. 4.5 stars for me.
„When it comes to this girl, my instincts are at war. One tells me to punish. The other to protect. Only one can win.”
I have said this several times already, but I will say it again – I will NEVER have enough of the world that T.M. Frazier created. Every time I go back to Logan’s Beach I’m full of excitement and goosebumps appear on my skin. I was waiting for Pike’s book with bated breath and ohhh boy, it was worth the wait! Frazier delivered a story full of tension, mystery and steam. My eyes were glued to the pages and nothing else mattered until I finished. I was totally engrossed with this book!
Pike embodies everything we can expect from Frazier’s hero. He’s raw, rugged and dangerous. He doesn’t care about much in his life besides his business and a handful of closest friends, but when you catch his eye you’ll be flooded with intensity and passion. He’s certainly not a good man in the traditional sense, but we can definitely see many great values in this guy. He’s brave, loyal and overall badass.
Mickey was an incredible surprise for me. We got to know her as a young and innocent girl with deadly intelligence, but time and circumstances hardened her. She’s a girl on a mission and nothing would stop her from reaching her goal. She’s determined and courageous. We get a glimpses of her quirks and vulnerability and that only makes her even more likeable.
Their story is not sweet. It sure as hell ain’t pretty. But with its severity and roughness it’s totally breathtaking. It’s a raw and real love story that was born in the middle of chaos, surrounded by lies, deceit and vendetta. Pike and Mickey took roots deep in each other’s souls, which no force can rip. Their connection and unrestrained passion was completely off the charts and I was constantly fanning myself from the palpable heat. I’m biting my lip just from the thought about these two.
T.M. Frazier created another gritty, addicting and unputdownable story, full of suspense and unexpected twists and turns. This book keeps at the edge of the seat and amazes at every turn. I cannot wait for the epic conclusion in the Pawn!
Pike was everything I wanted and exactly what I needed amidst the chaos in the world right now.
From the witty humour and edgy dark writing style T.m Frazier has once again delivered a grity, suspenseful and engaging story with plenty of WOW factor.
I was already intrigued with Pikes character from meeting him in Nines book, I couldn’t wait to unravel his secrets.
Pike oozed danger and mystery, he came across as very emotionally cold and detached but it all added to his allure.
Mickey was a badass, she was strong, resilient and a born survivor. I liked that she was a bit unusual, I admired her motivation and quick witted intelligence.
I really loved the first part of Pike and Mickeys explosive story.
I’m very excited to see how this Duet plays out, that cliffy was a spectacular surprise I never saw coming. It’s left me anxious and desperate for answers.
Ms. Frazier can write no wrong!!
Pike is the newest story from the mind of T.M. Frazier. She brings her readers and fans back to the gritty world of Logan’s Beach and the ruthlessness that thrives there.
Pike is a product of his environment, he was born and survived in Logan’s Beach his whole life and he has fought and bled for the life he has made for himself.
Mickey is an enigma. She is off the charts smart and because of that can come off a little crazy. She too is a product of her environment and her need for vengeance for her family. She literally carries the scars of her past and is trying to make sure that they don’t define her in the future.
The dynamic relationship between Pike and Mickey is riveting in its hate and its emotions. As you read this story, you will realize how much alike they really are!
This story has twists and turns aplenty and when Ms. Frazier gives away new secrets, well they are going to leave you breathless!
It was amazing to see past characters make appearances in this story. It was like a twisted family reunion!
I have read everything that Ms. Frazier has written, and every time I finish something new I say, there is no way she can beat that last story…then she blows that statement out of the water like a cat 4 hurricane!
Get your hands on this story, even if you haven’t read anything from her before, you are going to fall hard for Pike and Mickey!
Wow this as all the promise to be yet another amazing duet from TM !!
Glued from the first word as always as we enter back into the chaos of Logan’s beach, pike is the target and Mickey is the thief but nothing is ever what it seems!!!!!
I love Mickey shes no push over and doesn’t bow down to pike she stands her ground and is intent on revenge, her only problem is pike hes now her captor and for her plan to work she needs to eacape, but he wants answers and won’t stop till he gets them.
A sinfully sexy read that keeps you turning the pages to find out what’s coming next its brilliantly written with amazing characters and some good old favourites thrown into the mix ( it wouldnt be Logan’s beach without them) and dont get me started on that ending ahhhhhh I really need book 2 .
Pike (Pawn Duet #1) is exciting and thrilling with fantastic twists. It’s deliciously dark, hot as hell, and had a cliffhanger I never saw coming. I loved Pike and Mickey they’re a great addition to the King series family. I highly recommend it!
I love everything Logan Beach, and this is no exception. I wasn’t sure how this was going to turn out (and to be honest, it’s a cliffie which I knew going in – it’s in the title folks, Duet #1, so as expected I was left with a few questions). Of course it’s written in the King world, so it had that dark ‘King’ feel to it, which I love. It’s definitely not for the faint hearted. Pike has always been a bit of a non entity to me, until now, and of course I’ve fallen in love with the guy (not sure what that says about me). I’ve not completely warmed to Mickey, but I’m thinking that might change going forward. Lots of action and dodgy dealings throughout and I was on tenterhooks towards the end, now I just need to get started on book 2. The audio was narrated by Teddy Hamilton (perfect) and Elizabeth Hart (the jury’s still out).
Holy Smokes
In a nutshell, this story is up there as one of TM Frazier’s best stories in my opinionShe is notorious for allowing the reader to be drawn in with her characters, as she essentially allows you to unwrap the layers surrounding the story and then she SLAMS you with an ending, that NO ONE could’ve seen coming….because I definitely didn’t see that one coming
Pike is a must read story and I’m absolutely loving it Now to finish off the duet…..
TM could write about anything and I’m all in.
This book was phenomenal.
I almost didn’t want to write this review so I could move into book two, Pawn, because this cliffhanger is a serious shocker.
Before you stop reading, pawn is out already. So keep going.
This is Pike’s story. Once upon a time he saved a disoriented girl who disappears.
Our heroine in this story is Mikaela or Mickey…
I seriously loved this duet. It. Was. Awesome.
Highly recommend
T.M. Frazier
Loved this book. With every page I needed to know more about what Mickey was hiding and what exactly was going on with her. This book had some twist that I did not see coming and that only made me want to keep reading to find out the answers. I am glad that I waited to read this until book 2 was released because I think the wait to find out what happened would have killed me.
What another amazing read that I couldn’t put down. Mickey & Pike are absolutely a couple you won’t want to forget. Once I started reading I was so captivated by the story and the characters. I cant wait to see what’s going to happen next.

Pike was the first book in the duet by TM Frazier as a spin off of the King series. It wasn’t necessary to have read that series to enjoy Pike; however, if given the opportunity, I recommend it.
We met Pike previously as Nine’s best friend. He owned a pawn shop, had other illegal businesses on the side and was loyal to King and his group.
Mickey was a mystery. She was Pike’s captive from a group that was messing with his business and trying to take over King’s territory. But she wasn’t what she seemed.
As Frazier was creating the foundation, I was confused, but once it was being unveiled (which took awhile), I understood the direction and mystery behind the storyline. Stay with it. IlIt was dark – as expected by Frazier, and frankly, the experiment aspect of the storyline didn’t make sense to me, at all. And did I say it took awhile, yea it took a long while. And it kept going, so I was lost for a large part of it. But I wanted it to eventually make sense, so I kept at it. It was the mystery behind Mickey that kept me intrigued.
As a duet, it ended in a cliff hanger and of course nothing was concluded yet; however, it set the stage for the conclusion in the next book. Since the storyline moved a little slow at times, I think it could have been told in one book, but Pawn is next so I’ll reserve full judgement for now. Bring on Pawn!
I freakin loved this book! Hello cliffhanger! I cannot wait for the next one! I need it now!!!!! I was sucked into this book from the very beginning! I could not put it down! TM Frazier is the anti hero queen! This is a definite must read!!!
Received an arc for an honest review.
