Absolutely loved this trilogy from N.R. Walker – an emotional rollercoaster that didn’t let up until the last page and the wonderful happy ever after 🙂
I was lucky to receive an ARC for this book. I read it in 12 hours. Good thing I was off from work. Pieces of you is a rebuilding of love. Justin is a sitting duck in a car accident and winds up in a coma. When he wakes up, he is missing 5 years of his life.. Including his relationship with Dallas, Let their journey now begin. Dallas is patient, honest and loving. Refusing to believe Justin will not remember him. When you love with your heart , the soul remembers. I love N.R. Walker. I knew she was going to take me through it and it was worth the ride.
Life is full of moments, some are monumental, and some are minute. Every day we make more. Over time we build up a mountain of memories, but what happens when that mountain is just gone? This is the story of two men and the disappearance of 5 years worth of memories. It is not a standalone book, and the author said there will be three books altogether. There’s no happy ending in this book because of that.
After a horrific car accident, Justin is left with a damaged body and a traumatic brain injury. He wakes up to massive pain, and his last memory is being 25…and single. Only, he’s really 30, and the last 5 years he’s been in a relationship with Dallas. Not only was he supposedly living with him, but Dallas was also his boss.
This book was written with so much care. The emotion throughout is palpable. You will tear up, smile, hope, and experience everything alongside Justin and Dallas. The words pull you in and circle your heart like a warm hug. The attention to detail in the way the author wrote the book is apparent. There’s no magic cure, moment, or fairy godmother. This book is about life, and how to find a way to deal with the cards you were dealt. This book is beautiful.
I cannot recommend this book enough. It touched my soul to the point I cannot find adequate words to say, other than You really, really need to read this book, this series. In a world where hope can be fleeting, it’s nice to find a beacon of hope in the pages of a book. Read it; experience it. You won’t regret it.

This is the first book of Missing Pieces series which included Pieces of Me and Pieces of Us. Another heart-felt love story well written by Ms. Walker. A must read.
“Now it was me who got teary. “I hope so. If not, he’ll just have to fall in love with me all over again.” I tried to smile, to laugh it off, but couldn’t manage it. Because what if he didn’t? “And if he doesn’t . . . Well, I’ll do whatever he needs to be happy. Because that’s what you do when you love someone, right? You’d do anything to make them happy. Even if that means letting them go.”
Pieces of You is the first book of The Missing Pieces trilogy by N.R. Walker. It follows Dallas Muller, the owner of a successful motorbike mechanic shop in Newcastle, and his co-worker and boyfriend of four years, Justin, a man who has always struggled to fit in and doesn’t recognize his worth—until he met Dallas. One day, a terrible accident leaves Justin with no memory of the last five years, including his relationship with Dallas.
I don’t have a lot to say about this book. It was an easy read and I enjoyed the writing style. However, I really didn’t like the pacing nor connected with Justin or any of the side characters, and After he was released from the hospital, the story got kind of boring—in my opinion—and the ending felt dragged. Also, i really enjoy the slow burn trope, but I didn’t like it in this book; it felt too slow for a short story.
I don’t want y’all to think this is a bad book because it isn’t, this review is solely based on my experience while reading, besides I really liked Dallas character; he was so caring and supportive and just wanted the best for Justin even though he knew it would hurt him, and I know some of you will think he was “too perfect” to be true, but I really do not care and I recommend to check on the men you all are interacting with… maybe they are the problem.
Overall, it was short, easy read and I’ll eventually read the rest of the books in trilogy but just not right now.
CW/TW: Medical Trauma, Amnesia, Car accident, Injury/detail, Homophobic parent (mentioned)
A second chance at love after a tragic accident. Pieces of You will have you swooning for Justin and Dallas and their once seemingly perfect future. This book was so beautiful and real that you cannot help but have faith in the sheer power of love. Can’t wait for book two Pieces of Me, so I can see how Dallas and Justin get to their happily ever after.
I’m a sucker for the amnesia trope and this one did not disappoint!
My heart ached for this couple!!!! Dallas was such a strong, compassionate and patient man who wanted nothing more than for the love of his life to be able to remember what an incredible bond they shared.
Justin’s accident and recovery put both main characters through the emotional wringer! Ups and downs throughout the entire story. The support from all of the side characters in the book was refreshing. There truly wasn’t one single person in this book to dislike. Through struggle, everyone rallied around D and J.
The writing was solid. The dialogue was realistic and flowed well. The book ended on such a sweet cliffhanger! I can’t wait to read the rest of the series and see what comes for these two men.
The narration by Glen Lloyd was great! I really enjoyed listening to this book with his accent and felt that he captured the essence of the characters very well!
5+**
This is my first book by Walker. I knew she was a great writer, I regret not reading her books sooner. She’s now been added to my favorites!!
This book is an emotionally charged book. I had tears in my eyes for most of it. Most of the time, they were tears of sadness for the characters but some were of joy as well. I can’t wait to dive into the second book of the series. Here I go!!
This has been very poignant story of love and almost of loss. The whole story straddles three books and over each one, I experienced every single emotion you can think of. I swear that I’ve smiled, laughed, sighed, cried and gone though utter devastation with the two MCS.
Both the author’s story and character development were spot on. Dallas’ despair positively leapt from the page, as did Justin’s frustration.
It is very evocative writing, Ms Walker has written, as is usual, with a great deal of knowledge and sensitivity. Over the story Justin and Dallas are developed with empathy and feeling, that I was drawn effortlessly into their story.
I have to agree with a former reviewer, that this series is one of Ms Walker’s best. It’s a real emotional roller coaster, which immediately grabs your interest and pulls you in. I highly recommend all three books.
Loved this series so much, it just tugged on the heart strings.
N. R. Walker researches so thoroughly it’s like she has personally lived through the same as her MC.
Justin and Dallas are incredibly well written characters, well thought out, extremely well written, can’t wait to hear these books in Audio.
The love and angst that these boys ho through over the course of 3 books is amazing. But stay with it until book 3 as we all get an HEA.
These books should win Nic (NR Walker) lots of awards,. Complete master piece, thank you for writing these for us.
Pieces of You is the first book in the Missing Pieces series and, let me tell you, N.R. Walker does not pull any punches here. No sirree. This is a gentle book with only remembered steam which, once you read it, makes perfect sense. It is an emotional book. I think I read most of it with a lump in my throat but whenever Justin said something or couldn’t remember Dallas, it grew a little bit larger!
The writing is smooth and the contemporary setting all too believable. The supporting characters provide a bit of light relief whilst providing a back-up system to Dallas. There is not a single superfluous scene or character in this book. Everyone and everything has been placed for a reason.
This is the first book in the series so you only get a HFN ending. It finishes on a bright, hopeful note though so that’s something. Who knows what the future holds for Dallas and Justin. It won’t be easy no matter what but I seriously can’t wait to continue their fabulous story. Highly recommended by me.
* A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book, and the comments here are my honest opinion. *

Archaeolibrarian – I Dig Good Books!
N.R. Walker is an author who has been on my ‘must read’ list for quite some time, and now I’m kicking myself for not having read her earlier. Wow. This story yanked me in immediately and I couldn’t put it down to the point that I sat up late reading because I had to finish it in one sitting. It’s beautifully written, emotional, and raw with very real characters.
I loved Justin and Dallas and their story. I loved how Justin’s POV bookended the narrative, and showed the huge difference in him before and after the accident. I felt for Dallas in particular when Justin doesn’t recognise him, and they have to re build everything. So heartbreaking, yet with the glimmer of hope that Dallas clings to, although doesn’t quite always achieve. I loved the scene where it’s revealed what Justin’s dream means. The emotion resonance in this story was fabulous, and felt very real.
I liked the realism in Justin’s injuries after the accident and the struggle he has to regain everything he’s lost. I appreciated that he has a long hard road ahead and that the author didn’t pull any punches in that or make it an easy fix. It’s not just Dallas who is suffering, but Justin. I could feel his frustration and his determination.
I also loved Dav and Sparra. They’re the type of friends we all want and need, and I liked how they provided a little bit of light relief amongst the angst, yet stepped up and more to support Dallas and Justin, and keep the garage going. I thought Justin’s sister was a very strong character, and I liked her role in helping Justin to realise that he has lost memories and he’s not when he thinks he is.
As an added bonus, this story is set in Australia. I love reading stories set in the southern hemisphere. We need more of them!
his book drew me in from the first page, N.R.Walker can do that ….
Her writing is down to earth and it is all for very real.
When you have a love that holds you as one , then it has gone , just disappeared for Justin .
Justin has amnesia and five years have just gone !
Dallas is Justin’s partner they have been together for five years, the same five years Justin has lost..
Book two will see an improvement in Justin hopefully , and their love .
Another wonderful Australian story written with love for her guys , how I didn’t want this book to finish…
Sweet, well written, and so full if love. A beautiful start to their story.
The saying “Every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end” is brought to life in N.R. Walker’s Pieces of You, in the story of two men who have loved each other for five years, lived together, worked together, made a life together, and then lost it all in one singularly fateful moment.
When discussing the theme of second chances in the Romance genre, we often refer to it as two people who are given the opportunity to right the wrongs that caused them to fail the first time around. In the case of Pieces of You, however, Walker offers her characters, Dallas Muller and Justin Keith, the truest and, frankly, most poignant definition of a second chance. They didn’t fall out of love. They didn’t make mistakes or succumb to misunderstandings or a lack of communication. They are the victims of an accident, a cruel cosmic wrench thrown into the gears of their life together when a semi driver loses control of his truck in the rain and hydroplanes at full speed into Justin’s van. In a matter of moments five years were erased as though they’d never existed. Justin suffers a traumatic brain injury, and his life with Dallas, the love they share, suddenly ceased to exist. And perhaps the cruelest of twists is that it only ceased to exist for Justin, so Dallas is left alone with every single scrap of love, and all those memories, unrequited.
Through Justin’s long recovery, which is not fully accomplished in this book, nor does it begin without it taking an emotional toll on Dallas, Walker shows readers what a deep, abiding, committed, unconditional love looks like. Dallas is nothing but invested, in no uncertain terms, in helping Justin through this…even if it means losing him in the process. Even if it means Justin doesn’t fall in love with Dallas all over again. And then the story goes on to show readers exactly why Justin won’t be able to help but to fall in love with Dallas all over again. This first leg of their rebuilding time culminates in a profoundly romantic way which sets up the continuation for the next book in the trilogy.
The established couple is like the Romance genre’s unicorn—or nearly so—and I love it, so kudos to N.R. Walker for going there as well as for offering up a love story that’s sweet, touching, dramatic, and uplifting. I was intensely invested in this story from page one, and I didn’t put the book down until I’d seen Dallas and Justin through to the end of their old and the start of their new beginning. Pieces of You is a romance built upon hope and faith and trust, and it delivers all the promise of something even more beautiful to come. This may be Walker’s most deeply romantic book yet. If not the most, it’s absolutely in the running for first place.
Amnesia romance at it’s best! How much I wanted something this awesome, and now it’s here and I’m the happiest ever. NR Walker did it and wrote such an amazing story, my mind just blown away.
Justin and Dallas’s story was so romantic while painful but full with hope. Cute and adorable from the first letter to the last. The story gave me all the warm feelings and I really loved reading it.
The ending was perfect and I almost cried – it was so beautiful with the tattoo and the feelings. Your brain can forget but your heart won’t, and awww I just can’t
I adore this book so much. I need more. I need them right now. Justin and Dallas are pure perfection, and their love is the best ever
Highly recommend it!

A beautifully written book that makes you feel like you are right there with the main characters. Dallas and Justin have a great relationship until a horrible accident almost cost Justin his life. N.r. Walker has a way writing that once you start reading you don’t want to put it down. Justin and Dallas has a lot to deal with but they prevail in the end. The book is sweet, romantic, a lot of angst, funny and I love it.
The depth of true and devoted love is demonstrated beautifully in NR Walker’s latest masterpiece. Justin and Dallas are wonderful characters who find themselves in a traumatic chain of events which test them in the best and worst of ways. The emotional journey this book takes us on is beautifully crafted and I gobbled up this read very quickly. Pieces of You wraps itself around you and envelops your mind in this vivid world – making you wonder what the boys are up to when you put the book down! A most perfect HEA is included so you are guaranteed to finish the book with a sigh. Readers who enjoy being pulled along by their emotions will adore this story – it’s achingly beautiful, full of poignant moments with the loving and sweet moments so stunning, it will take your breath away.
