Mick
Serve. Honor. Protect, are the only things I’ve ever cared about until her case was dropped on my desk. As we searched for her missing daughter, the last woman I thought I’d fall in love with became my reason for living.
Then the world came crashing down around us.
One secret would change everything, but I had one more hand to be dealt. And if I played my cards right, maybe, just maybe we’d get our piece of heaven.

Mick has a complicated life. He’s been through the wringer and continues to dwell in the past. He complicates his own life refusing to change his habit. Drinking doesn’t help. Women don’t help. He can’t bury the problem in work. Until a case shakes him to the core…
She lives for her daughter. Always trying to make everything right. It’s hard but she would doing anything for her baby. And she does. But when her daughter goes missing, she is hanging on by a thread. That thread is pulled taut by a snarky judgemental cop who riles her up. If only she could get him out of her head.
It was an interesting story. I didn’t realize it was part of a series. I was a little lost trying to play catch up. There are references to the first book that tend to lead you astray. Don’t worry, you can catch up quickly.
This was my first book by this author and although it took some time for me to get into the story, it was overall a really nice read.
I really liked the suspense brought by the disappearance of Lori. It had me anxious of what might have happened to her. But since there was so much else going on at the same time, it was all a bit distracting and too much to process. The story went too quick from one thing to another and I felt it was a bit too packed. It could have been easily split into two books with everything going. Sometimes less is more and instead of having lots of different things going on, I would have preferred to focus on just one thing or two.
The Story:
When her daughter Lori disappears, Marissa is devastated and does everything to find her. She didn’t think her life could get any more complicated until Mick Moro enters her life and turns her world upside down.
Although Mick judged Marissa because of her job the first time he went to her to get details on the last contact she had with her daughter, he can’t shake this feeling about her. She is such a sassy and real beautiful woman; he feels this case being more personal to him than any others and he promises her find Lori and get her home safely.
Can Mick keep his promise to Marissa?
Thoughts:
This book had so much potential which wasn’t fully used.
What bothered me most was the beginning, when Mick met Marissa for the first time. While I am not against insta-love in general, I think it could have been handled better in this book because there was just no base for their love. I wanted to see their love grow and get to know their thoughts on stuff but everything was kept close to the surface and didn’t really get deeper. Maybe it was just me because I couldn’t connect with the characters as we didn’t really get to know them properly. That’s at least how I felt.
Becauhse when I, as a reader, experience emotional stuff through a character, I want to feel everything they are going through. I want to know what goes on in their minds and when two strangers meet I want to read about them getting to know each other especially since I don’t know anything about them.
With the lovely epilogue at the end, I’m not sure if there will be another book for some other characters, but I felt like there’s a story left open. (Chris)
This is most definitely the best book Natasha Madison has written so far!!!! I couldn’t put it down and I was in love with the plot & characters from start to finish. Natasha does a fantastic job of creating one hell of a alpha male and an equally strong heroine. Pieces of Heaven is filled with gritty emotions, strength, perseverance and love. This is a five star must read!!!!
Meet Mick.
Young, independent and sinfully delicious.
He’s a detective searching for missing girls.
They have been taken, and it’s his job to make sure he finds them.
He won’t stop until he does.
But what Mick doesn’t realise is the hunt for these girls will ultimately change his life.
Meet Marissa.
Her teenage daughter is missing.
Gone without a trace.
Marissa needs the police to help her.
But what Marissa doesn’t realise is the hunt for her daughter will ultimately change her life.
Meet Lori.
She’s been taken.
Chanied and used, she can’t see a way out.
She just wants to go home.
But what Lori doesn’t realise is her saviour will ultimately change her life.
This is Mick and Marissas story.
This is Loris story.
This is their story, their voice.
Well guys Natasha Madison has done it again. Her second novel to date Pieces Of Heaven was sheer brilliance. Again I was completely transfixed, losing myself page after page. I couldn’t put it down.
Emotional….God this book was highly emotional. I laughed, I cried, I held my breath.
Action packed….What a roller coaster ride. Not once could I pick what was going to happen next.
Raw, gritty and at times dark and confronting.
Heartbreaking, breathtaking.
Simply put….Beautiful.
Guys I seriously can’t rate this book high enough. If dark and gritty, raw and emotional, action packed with a twist or two and sassy and sexy is your thing, then you definitely need to read this.
Believe me you will not be disappointed.
Natasha Madison….Thank you for giving me the opportunity to lose myself with your words.
5 stars.
Pieces of Heaven was just that a Piece of Heaven for me to read. Mick is a Freaking Smoking Hot Detective who is stuck in a relationship, he’s the side piece to a lady ,I like to call her cuntosaurus rex,(like really come on)(I would always put you first Mick)(You’d be my #1) He and his partner Jackson(Hell and Back is his story) gets a case about a missing teenager Lori. He is quick to think its just a runaway teen.
Marissa is a single mother, a stripper, a I have a really crappy life but you know what I am going to rise above this and take care of mine and my ex’s problems. Lori is Marissa’s daughter and she is missing ,knowing that she didn’t just run away she begs the police to help her find her baby. Detectives Mick and Jackson step in to take the case and Nobody’s’ ever the same again.
It is instant attraction for Mick and then he opens his mouth and spews insults and garbage.
Marissa she is a tiny thing , but don’t down her because she will put you in your place, and show you the door.
These two develop a relationship that is instant, intense and over the top Hot Hot Hot. I was a goner I love them, Mick and his Alpha loving heart who has been burned in the past, but he gives it all to Marissa. Marissa who is hurting everyday for daughter to come home, still is so fierce, I loved her attitude and selflessness and her Sassiness. Just when think these two will get together, you get Smacked in the face, it’s not over cuntosaurus rex comes back, as well as others who aren’t down hurting Mick, Marissa and Lori.
Natasha Madison is unbelievable, her talent is off the charts, I love everything she writes, I can’t wait for the next one.

Five Stars for Pieces of Heaven by Natasha Madison
I was invited to sign up for this ARC by a friend and to be honest I was a little apprehensive about signing up. The story was certainly darker and grittier than my normal reads. However, my friend was adamant, that I HAD to read this book. I am so glad that I took myself out of my comfort zone and read this story.
Pieces of Heaven is at times dark, gritty, romantic, sensual… I ran the gamut of emotions while reading the story of Mick and Marissa and Lori. Pieces of Heaven is the not just the story of two soulmates find their other half in the most unlikely of situations, it is the story of a family becoming whole.
Mick is the alpha every woman wants. He is kind, caring, generous, fierce, loving, and loyal. To serve and to protect is his life’s work.
Marissa is a strong, independent, fiercely loyal spitfire. She takes a figurative beating and just gets up and keeps kicking. Marissa is not only looking for her bliss she is work hard every day to obtain it.
Natasha has written a beautiful and suspenseful story of intrigue, danger and romance.
