I can still hear the counting in my head – one, two, three – I dropped my weapon before our enemy reached ten. I couldn’t bare to watch the man I love be killed right in front of me.I threw my weapon over the ledge and surrendered. We both lost our lives that day to a hellacious prison. I was rescued, but Kell didn’t survive, or so I thought.Thinking the only man I had ever loved was gone, … man I had ever loved was gone, physically I existed, but my heart died with him. Every day I would put on a cool mask of indifference in order to continue living, focusing on saving others.
Then one day, out of the blue, I get word that there is a possibility Crew is still alive. I will risk anything to save him and I mean anything.
If he’s still out there, he’s not the same man. No one could come out of that prison the same. I know I didn’t. What if he doesn’t love me anymore? Will I have to lose him again, if I rescue him? That’s a chance I’m willing to take.

This is an amazingly emotional romantic suspense book!
I love this book! It is book four of a series of five books and is better when read in order but it can be read alone… it’s just much better if it’s read in order.
Gray has spent the last two years believing that the man she loved died in a prison camp that she was rescued from. Unfortunately for Kell Crew, he survived but he never made it out of the camp and the monsters told him that she had died. When word finally got through he was alive, Gray knew she had to be part of the team to extract him. What she wasn’t prepared for was what came next. No one could have been.
This book and series will break your heart and then stitch it back together. It’s full of danger, intrigue, passion, and love.
Outstanding characters, fully developed! Out of tragedy, hope springs for a great heroine I could enjoy calling a friend.
Kelly Moore seems always to amaze me with her writing style and use of words. This story was again so captivating and engaging that I just had to read it in one sitting. I got caught up in the story and the characters. It is so well written and has a storyline and plot that is different. The picture of the titelpage is so awesome made that you can feel his torture and troubling mind.
To live with the thought of your soulmate and love of your life died in prison must be terrible. Then to discover the truth and act on it is also not easy.
The author has filled this story with chemistry, passion, heart and twists.
A must read that is enjoyable, dramatic, unexpected and captivating.
What an addictive read the passion the Grey has for Kell is crazy and so well written you can just feel how much she loves him and the pain of having to walk away after going to hell and back just to recuse him after being a POW for years. Even though she is surrounded my family and those who care about her it just isn’t enough and once chance encounter soon looks to unravel all time and procedure taken to remove her from his life so he wouldn’t continue to torture himself over what he went through and the horrors of what happened. This is definitely an emotional roller coaster as see how things unfold for grey while she tried to keep her distance from Kell but also feel the pull as much as he doesn’t even though she knows she is risking her mind ripping apart and he becoming the shell of the man she knew again.

OMG……. OMG I knew after I finshed reading Piece by Piece(book 3) back in August that I had to get my hands on Gray’s story. I was so overwhelmed and excited for it that I just couldn’t wait. So when Kelly Moore contacted me and asked if I wanted an ARC copy I jumped all over that like a dog with a bone. And the second I got it in said hands I didn’t put it down til the end. You know you have found a great book when you literally start it the second you get your hands on it and you sit up all night long and forgo sleep to finish a story because you just can’t bear to put it down. It was so good. Worth every sleepless minute. You know sleep is for the weak!
I am going to try to keep this review spoiler free which is really hard for me. This book is so good and suspenseful that I feel something would be ruined if readers knew what to expect. So let me just say that this book was everything I hoped for and more. Gray was an amazing heroine. My heart bled for her. I cried few times while reading this. There is such a sad and beautiful journey to Gray and Kell’s love story that it broke my heart a few times then pieced it all back together again. Gray was so strong and brave and I just adored her. Kell was amazing as well. He was just so cocky, charming, sexy but sweet at the same time. I just couldn’t help but fall madly in love with him. They truly made a beautiful couple.
Their road was not an easy one but it was worth the ride. The connection between these two characters felt so real. They felt so real that I was completely invested in them and rooted for them the whole book. I really enjoyed getting to catch up with Steel and Ady and seeing how they were doing. The action and the plot was so good in this book and they were executed perfectly. It kept me on the edge the whole time. I had to keep stopping myself from skipping ahead because I was dying to know what would happen. I was almost too anxious to wait the time it would take just to read it. I loved getting to know Syn more. I know his book is coming up next and I can’t wait to see what his heroine is going to be like. I know I will enjoy the other books in this series but I also know this book is and will remain my favorite of the series. There was just something about Gray and Kell that really connected with me. They were so special! This book was amazing and I enjoyed every sleepless minute of it!
Gray has lost the only man she’s ever loved or so she believes until she hears Kell may be alive. Kell has so much trauma and PTSD from military experiences. Will Gray be able to make the right choice for Kell without losing herself in the process? A wonderful military, full of suspense read.

My heart…God, Pieces of Gray about tore it apart!
Gray Milby is an expert Army sniper, placed in Kell Crew’s platoon. When these two meet, the sparks are flying. She may be a badass sniper, but she’s also an innocent woman and Crew’s all man enough to notice how beautiful she is. Reading about them falling in love set against the backdrop of war was a pretty beautiful thing. But then they’re both captured during a mission in China and tortured for years. Thankfully she’s rescued, but she’s told Crew’s dead. Her beautiful Kell, the love of her life. And yet, she never really believed he was dead, she felt in her heart he wasn’t gone. So much so that when she’s told there’s a chance he’s still alive, she’s on the first plane out to China to go rescue him, the man she loves. Thank God she’s got Syn, her best friend and cousin and fellow badass soldier.
But when they get Crew back, of course he’s not the same man. He’s a shell of the big, beautiful warrior she thought she’d never see again. And she’s devastated when he tells her he never wants to see her again. She’s even more devastated when the doctors tell her to save his mind, they have to wipe his memories and replace them with others, so that he’ll never remember her and their love.
But there may be hope when they cross paths a year later and something in him recognizes her, and they start up a forbidden relationship. Forbidden because any ties to his old life may damage his precarious hold on his mind in the present. And when they part AGAIN, Gray knows she has to truly and permanently give him up, for his sake, for the sake of his sanity and his heart. Because she loves him, she knows he’s better off without her in his life.
God, Gray and Kell’s journey was a devastating, raw tale that broke my heart so many times. I can’t even tell you how many tears I shed. This was one truly touching story that I will not soon forget. One that reminds me that true love is just that – TRUE love, love that doesn’t die even when on the face of it one doesn’t remember the other. True love lies in the heart where you can’t ever really forget.
Now I’m off to cry a few more tears as I think about their journey, and read the other stories in this series. I’m hoping they’re as beautiful and even heartbreaking as Pieces of Gray is.
