The Dynamic Duo are at it again when a piano concert goes horribly wrong. When Suzie inherited Dune House, a beach front Victorian in the small town of Garber, she didn’t have the faintest idea that she and her best friend, Mary, would soon be embroiled in crime solving again and again. I love Suzie and Mary’s friendship. Their loyalty to one another makes them a formidable duo. They always have each others back no matter the circumstance even when it’s dangerous. With the many twists and turns, this book will not disappoint. I highly recommend this series as well as Cindy Bell’s other incredibly delightful cozy series. I know you will love them as much as I do!
What can I say, I love the series; the plots, relationships and characters are very interesting. Visitors at the Inn are not what they seem. Can Mary, Suzie and the gang uncover the truth? I look forward to the next book.
In this Dune House Mystery by Cindy Bell, Suzie Allen and Mary Brent have guests in the Bed & Breakfast. There is a concert scheduled with Gerber’s new resident, concert pianoist, Lara Timms. Suzie is helping Evelyn get everything ready at Lara’s house when she hears Lara’s sons, Ivan and Mike, complaining about the piano tuner, Gary, who has been in their mother’s life for many years. They think he is in love with their mother and is trying to talk her into leaving her current husband, Eric. Suzie and Mary invite their guests Vince, Janel, Rich and Ava to attend the concert as well. Rich quickly declines the invitation.
It is now time for the concert. When they open the doors for the concert a man is discovered hanging out of the piano “dead”. The doors are closed and everyone is questioned. No one knows this man or where he came from.
The investigation of this man’s death turns up some interesting clues. The author keeps you guessing until the end.
There are several twists and turns with a great plot. This is a must read!
Dune House is the 18th book in this well-loved series, that follows best friends, Suzie and Mary through many of their adventures. Dune House, a stately Victorian home, bequeathed to Suzie by her uncle, has been lovingly remodeled into a Bed & Breakfast by the two friends. Located the quaint town of Garber, and proximity to the beach, makes it a popular tourist destination.
As with many popular destinations, there brings many interesting people. Dune House is once again occupied with guests that seem to have an ordinary background although, a few are somewhat private about it. When a popular pianist, new to the area, offers a concert in her home, the excitement is contagious until a body is found in her piano. There are many suspects to consider when the story unfolds with information about the pianist. Suzie and Mary once again take us on a roller coaster journey as they begin their research. When they are threatened, they step up their investigation to locate the murderer.
Once again, this series does not disappoint. With many suspects available, narrowing them down kept me guessing. I read many cozy mysteries and this is one that I was totally caught off guard. I always look forward to the next installment in the series, as it’s a quick, fun read. This book can be read as a standalone, there is enough information to follow the characters. I received this book as a gift. The opinions expressed are my own.
