Another Good Middle-Aged Couple Romance
I so love the idea of the series that features middle-aged couples. I don’t think that age range is explored enough in contemporary romance, and people of a certain age certainly bring a lot more baggage to a new relationship, which can be such great fodder for a story. Plenty of baggage in this case. The book opens the heroine at her husband’s sentencing hearing where she learns he’s going away for 30 years because of embezzlement and fraud. Their divorce is nearly final as well, as his lawyer reminds her after the judge sentences him. The next day, the house she thought she would retire to and ultimately die in is foreclosed upon. A friend suggests she come for a long visit as she sorts out the next moves in her life. After some going back and forth, that’s what she does. There, she literally runs into another man, though she has no interest in dating whatsoever. But fate has other plans, of course. I thought the author did a good job showing what it feels like when you have such a tectonic shift in your life like the heroine had. When I was divorced, I remember feeling some of the exact same things this character felt, like it wasn’t just the dissolution of a relationship but of shared dreams and shared futures. I wasn’t quite sure what I thought about the hero, though. Finally, I wish this cover truly reflected the age of the heroine. If you’re going to have a middle-aged heroine, be bold enough to put a regular middle-aged woman on the cover, not someone who could pass for late thirties or early forties. This heroine is at least 50, actually having had a 28-year marriage. All in all, I enjoyed this book.

Life really does suck at the moment for Kate and an invite by her best friend to spend some time away at Moonshire Bay sounds good, but yikes she manages to have a car accident there on her first day which leaves her and Zach dancing around how they feel about each other the more time they spend together whether by chose or a sort of blackmail by Zach. Unfortunately further trouble is brewing so you have your fingers crossed that Zach doesn’t stuff things up and Kate finally gets her happy ever after which isn’t just love, but her real passion in photography.

This clean romance had likable characters and a good plot line, and I enjoyed it for the most part, although not quite as much as the previous books in the series. It felt like there should have been a few other things wrapped up at the end. Although we saw Kate and Zach find their happy ending, and that was no surprise, Zach and his dad’s relationship, as well as his dad’s run for political office, was left hanging. I would also have liked to see what happened with Kate’s dream of a photography business. Perhaps we were supposed to just assume that it took off and became enough of a success to keep her busy and happy during this time in her life. It would not have been an issue for me if the author hadn’t made Kate’s desire for a fulfilling career such an important part of the storyline. Other than those few things, I liked the story, and Ms. Sweet did a good job of keeping me engaged from start to finish. I received an advanced copy of this book through BookSprout, and am giving my voluntary and honest opinion.
I have recently been introduced to Ms. Sweet’s books and they are absolutely delightful. This is the third book in her small town series, Moonshire Bay. This is a very touching and heartwarming story that follows Kate as she tries to put her life back together after suffering so many challenges and difficulties. She leaves her home and travels to Moonshire Bay where she meets Zach, who just may be the one to help her get through these difficult times and finally find happiness. But due to misunderstandings and betrayals, their path might not be such an easy one. This story is all about love, second chances and learning to trust again. A beautifully written story that was such a delight to read. Ms Sweet is a very talented author and I look forward to reading more of her books.

Kate’s been married for 28 years. Her husband is headed for prison, having been convicted of embezzlement, fraud and money laundering. Several rulings about their assets have been against her, leaving her to start over at 50. She puts everything in storage, and heads to Moonshire Bay to visit her best friend, Claire. Zach is a lawyer in town, and a confirmed bachelor. They meet when she backs her Volvo into his Alfa Romeo. He’s interested in her, and would like to help her out so she’ll stay, but knowing that she won’t accept, he engages in several deceitful actions. Moonshire Bay is a wonderful small town, where everyone know everyone and their business, and there are no secrets. People are kind and caring, and genuinely nice. Kate realizes that she has more real friends there in a few weeks than she ever had in New York. I enjoyed reading Kate and Zach’s story, as they navigate a new relationship. This is the third book in the series. One of the things I like best is that the books focus on women who are a bit older, trying to start a new life after a tragic event.

I so love these books. This love you, hate you storyline starts out on a low note then things pick up to a high note the two protagonists of the tale take an instant liking to each other. Then it’s down again due to misunderstandings that a conversation between aggrieved parties would take care of. Neither can do that though since they both only have past relationships to go by. In the end, they realize things aren’t what they seemed and the story ends on a Happily Ever After. Yay! Highly recommended to clean romance readers.

The third book in the A Moonshire Bay Small Town Romance series another well written story in this series, and I want to read the next book. Kate goes through a lot before she gets a happy ending, I am glad both Zach and her friend Claire where there for her. Why would a smart lawyer trick a woman into working for him? Because he wants to get to know her better. However, this tactic backfires because she is a woman who has been lied to and deceived most of her married life, who is now single and starting over. This is a complex story about forgiveness and regaining confidence in yourself, then learning to trust other people again.

Welcome to Moonshire Bay – the small town lakeside community that has love in the air
A romantic story line you find hard to put down. It flows smoothly from page to page and is an enjoyable read. The characters are amazing, lovable and realistic. The location is described in wonderful detail making you wish you were there. A perfect summer time romance you’ll be glad you added to your list of books to read.

Picking up the pieces after your Life implodes is hard, and doing it in a small town might both be good and bad. There are a lot of personable characters and a thread of whether or not to trust running through. I felt like the conflict might have been more than I expected, but maybe that’s just me.

I really enjoyed this sweet romance set in the delightful town of Moonshire Bay. I felt so sorry for Kate and all she’d been through and was glad she had a friend like Claire to be there for her. I really liked zach too, though he had a few hangups he needed to work through if he wanted to make a go of things with Kate. This was a lovely read about second chances at a new life and learning to trust after having had your trust well and truly broken in the past.

Kate’s husband is going to prison for 30 years for cheating and stealing from his clients. Kate didn’t know anything about it and now she’s lost her home and all of her assets. Her husband has filed for divorce and the divorce is almost final. Her kids are grown and her friend Claire has invited her to stay in Moonshire Bay for as long as she wants. On her first full day there, Kate literally runs into a lawyer when she backs into his vintage car. He is instantly attracted to her and trys to find ways to keep her in Moonshire Bay.
This is a sweet, uplifting romance – with some angst, involving an older couple. The town is friendly and welcoming. This is an excellent summer read, especially now with so many scary things happening in our real lives. I recommend this book and this series.
Some second chances need a little time, and another chance
Can Kate trust her heart again after all she went through with and because of her ex husband?
Will she be able to forgive when she learns all from the new man she was hesitant to trust?
This little town has its own special magic
Is there enough for Kate? For friendships? For love?

I absolutely enjoyed following Kate through a very devastating time to finding herself anew and starting over. I would say the ending didn’t feel completely finished like I was missing an epilogue maybe, but otherwise I would absolutely recommend this book if you enjoy mature romances and starting over books.

This new addition to the series takes us back to Moonshire Bay. A town where many come to recover from their past and end up staying.
In this story we have Kate Hamilton and Zach Elstoy.
Kate’s friend Claire invites her to come for a visit and get away from New York after her ex-husband, a lawyer, is found guilty of embezzlement and sentenced to prison.
On her first day in town she literally runs into Zach, the local attorney. Needless to say, Kate’s trust in lawyers and men is non-existent, but Zach is smitten by her.
As a friendship develops, so do the lies by omission. When Kate finds out what Zach has done, will she be able to trust and forgive him? Or will the mistakes cost this couple their future?
What I liked about this story was that it’s main characters were in their 50s. Mature individuals that even with the ups and downs of life, still had a future. It was also a reminder that one should not judge a person by the company they keep. What might seem on the outside of a relationship, isn’t always what is happening in the inside.
Thought the story was good, for me it was just ok and not as good as the previous 2 books. It was more of a 3.5 stars . But I respect the efforts made by the author, and having loved the previous stories, I will give it a 4 stars rating.
I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
Kate goes to visit her friend, Claire, to get a break from the mess her soon-to-be ex-husband, Todd, created. She soon decides she loves it in Moonshire Bay. She’s blackmailed into working for lawyer, Zach Elstoy, after she hits his prized, vintage Alfa Romeo Spider. When she finally decides to stay and finds an awesome deal on a rental house, she can’t believe her luck. Oh, but luck didn’t have anything to do with it, lol. That’s all behind the scenes work of Zach, lol. What’s going to happen when it comes out that he’s the owner of her rental house? Will this be the end to their friendship? Grab your copy and see what happens, especially when Zach’s dad, Phillip, tells Kate what he thinks.

Another beautiful story about Moonshire Bay and how life in a small town with a very closely knit community helps people to find a north and to rebuild their lives. A housewife who finds herself being guilty for not asking, not making strong friendships and living a life of appearances just to keep a marriage alive. She also realizes she was mistaken in giving more value to her husband´s wishes and career than her own and finally has to take her destiny in her hands again and to discover where her true aspirations lie. She not only discovers in Moonshire Bay what are the values she should pursue but also a beginning of a career and a romance. This is an easy to read book that also gives food for thought for all of those people (women and men) that are leaving a broken relationship and are trying to find their new path in life.
I downloaded a free copy of this book and this is my honest review.
This book starts with Kate’s ex-husband being sentenced to 30 years in prison and as a result of that Kate loses everything and must start over, so she finally decides to visit her best friend, Claire in Moonshire Bay. Shortly after arriving Kate is involved in a fender bender with Moonshire Bay’s resident lawyer, Zach, needless to say things do not get off to a very good start. Kate soon finds out that she accidentally forgot to pay for her car insurance due to all the upheaval in her life lately and she tries to figure out how to tell Zach. In the meantime, Zach is taken with Kate and is trying to figure out how he can spend more time with her. He figures out why she looked so familiar to him and he doesn’t plan to hold her ex-husbands actions against her. When he finds out about the no insurance deal and comes up with a plan that he thinks will “help” her, it just might backfire big time. Kate is so overwhelmed with everything losing her house, all her money (except for what is left in her kids’ college fund) and all her friends but Claire; she decides to take her camera and shoot some photos of the beach. This action gives Kate an idea of possibly doing something with her photography which is then reinforced by Claire and her group of friends. You will need to read the story to see if Kate can find her way into a new life and see if Zach will be a part of it.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
