PHOENIX is one of my favorites in Ms. Crouch’s Linear Tactical series!
While the LT books are all romantic suspense, this one is lighter on the suspense (more of a subplot) and focuses on the romance between two unique, special characters. There are touches of humor with Girl Riley and Boy Riley, there’s certainly some action as the main part of the plot revolves around an annual survival competition. But there is a touching, emotional thread to it, as well, as the heroine has recently been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. So as not to be a burden to her X-factor, all-action, world-traveling media sensation boyfriend, Girl Riley breaks off their relationship. This is about getting down to what’s really important in a relationship, discovering the best parts of being human and loving someone, and learning to trust when your world is falling apart.
And, of course, you get to revisit some favorite LT heroes/heroines and meet some future heroes and heroines.
An Entertaining, emotionally charged adventure story, with extreme sports, a romance that sweeps you off your feet, and a touch of suspense that makes your heart race. Mainstream quality writing, in smoothly flowing story that made me smile and sigh.
All I can say is OMG ! Your going to love this book.
I would give it more than 5 stars if I could. Janie’s writing ability amazes me. I love all the Linear Tactical books. And you know I didn’t think this one would be as good as the others, but I was so wrong. Janie Crouch is a great storyteller! This is another great book. This is book 8 of the series. It is a standalone book. But you guys should really read all the books you won’t be disappointed. I received the ARC for my honest review.
I loved the well-written plot. There were fun times, sad times, and beautiful times. Love all the characters in the Linear Tactical stories. Boy Riley and Girl Riley have great chemistry, but is it enough? Looking forward to the next book.
Loved boy Riley and girl Riley. Lol too cute and funny. I do have to say though girl Riley annoyed me to no end most of the story. Yes she was going through something horrible and life altering but come on. If it was a brand new relationship I could see maybe having this reaction but not a three year long relationship. As a nurse this annoyed me because she was only looking at the worst possible outcomes. Yes we do that to be prepared but there is a possibility that they would NEVER happen. And also this annoyed me because my step mother was recently diagnosed with myasthenia Gravis. It’s different from MS but it is an auto immune disorder that can lead to progressive paralysis and flares and it was a hard fight to get tot that concussion after months of not being able to breath or walk or do anything. But now after treatments she is doing better. You don’t just leave and abandon those you love even if it’s to protect them. I didn’t like that. I get that she thought she was doing it for him but it’s not right to make that decision for him when all he wanted was her. Hate Bo wish he got his. Loved the ending and the meaning behind the tattoo. Then OMG the epilogue!! Yay for the Riley’s!! I am nervous about what the bad news is about that Annie needs to tell baby’s wife and Ray. It’s just sucks cause she has already been through enough.
Let me just say first I knew all the twist that would be thrown at me from the start. That is not what caused the 4 stars instead of 5. Girl Riley got on my nerves with the woe is me attitude. I understood her trying to come to terms with things, but not the making decisions for Boy Riley. I really loved Girl Riley in the other books, so her attitude was a little disappointing for me. I loved Boy Riley and his determined actions not to let Girl Riley go. Overall I did enjoy Phoenix, but wanted a little more from Girl Riley. I read on Kindle Unlimited.
Mystery, murder and mayhem mixed with secrets, lies and hearts will keep you glued to your comfy zone trying to figure it all out. Can Boy Riley prove to Girl Riley that she is his everything??? Loved it!!
This book’s storyline was okay. I liked the hot steamy scenes. Both Riley’s characters boy /girl were okay. The ending was okay.
Hearts on fire – a dare devil with a need for adventure finds his greatest adventure yet
Speaking as someone who’s married to a person with an autoimmune disease, Janie Crouch did a fantastic job expressing the overwhelming emotions often felt by individuals & their loved ones when coming to terms with a medical diagnosis such as Girl Riley’s. I felt a deep connection to this book and it’s characters.
My heart soared and I cried happy tears reading about Boy Riley’s newest tattoo even before he revealed its true meaning. Boy Riley faces several major decisions that affect not only him, but Girl Riley as well. It’s his choices in the face of these decisions that reveal the kind of man he is and I couldn’t be more proud. I fell in love with these characters and their story. This was a wonderful book to get lost in and I look forward to getting lost in it again soon.
Crouch takes a turn away from her high octane romantic suspense in this installment of the Linear Tactical series to focus on the relationship between Riley and Riley. If you love her romantic suspense, you will love this more character focused installment.
Great book! This is my favorite book in the series. Touching and sweet.
This book touched my very soul as I sped through the pages of this beautiful love story. I have never been touched so deeply as I was reading this book. Girl Riley has a very valuable lesson she needs to learn.
Extreme sport athlete Boy Riley is a strong man who has a heart of gold and eyes only for girl Riley. He knows his heart and he knows girl Riley is his better half. Girl Riley has to come to terms with some pretty major issues in her life and she thinks that she has to do it alone. She doesn’t understand what love truly is or how important love is to her life. This story is exciting, full of twists, with plenty of adventures and has some heat mixed in.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking for an all encompassing storyline that will make you forget about anyone else in the house while you are reading. Dinner? Who needs that? I couldn’t stop reading this book! Loved it!
4.5 stars.
A very well written compelling read. Full of action and entertainment. Boy and Girl Riley have a journey to take. So glad Not Riley convinced her she was not alone.
Another great book in the series, this book is for a big part about the relationship and the feelings Boy and Girl Riley have for each other. It’s a great and sometimes emotional read, I loved it! Can’t wait for the next book in this awesome series by Janie Crouch . If she’s new to you , start reading the series in order , so you won’t miss anything!, this review is my honest opinion
I love that the hero and heroine are both named Riley. Boy Riley, known by the nickname Phoenix, is into extreme sports and travels the world. He and Girl Riley are in a long distance relationship. Out of the blue, Girl Riley, breaks up with him without an explanation. Phoenix returns to the states to confront Girl Riley and get answers. Turns out that there is a pretty big secret that Girl Riley is hiding.
Janie Crouch’s Linear Tactical series are romantic suspense. I found this book to be a little different than the 7 books before it. There is a suspense element that seems randomly thrown in. However, most of this book is Phoenix adjusting to Girl Riley’s big secret. It is more of an emotional story.
Like all the Linear Tactical books, this was a fantastic romantic suspense. But, unlike the others, this one was heavy on the romance with not as much action. It’s about Boy Riley (Phoenix) and Girl Riley (Wildfire). They met 3 years ago at a WAR competition where Phoenix was competing and Wildfire was a nurse. In this story, you really feel their intense love. They didn’t let Phoenix’s travelling interfere with their relationship. Everything was going well for them. That was until Girl Riley got some news that made her feel like she needed to let Phoenix go. Determined to find out why she wanted to break up with him, Phoenix went back to Oak Creek to find out.
Even though this book was mainly about Boy Riley and Girl Riley’s relationship, there was still drama, danger and action along with it. That ending! It left me feeling all warm and happy. Complete with a big sigh and goofy smile. I was so glad to get a complimentary copy of Phoenix so I could share my thoughts. If you like romantic suspense with all the feels, Phoenix is a must-read.
Phoenix is yet another exciting addition to the Linear Tactical series. What’s not to like? Both the hero and heroine are named Riley and AKA Boy Riley & Girl Riley. He’s a world renown extreme sports enthusiast, among other things. She’s a nurse who’s the girl next door type who captured his heart. Now her world has imploded and rather than drag him down with her she decides to cut him loose. Only one problem, he didn’t get the memo. He’s determined to win her back and executes his plan while participating in a rigorous endurance race.
All the Linear Tactical crew is on hand for this love story that has a great mix of sport, adventure, intrigue and danger. I thoroughly enjoyed the race backdrop of this book, very entertaining.
Excellent book!
Phoenix, aka Riley Harrison aka Boy Riley, is an adrenaline junkie who is also an undercover operative for Linear Tactical.
Riley Wilde, aka Girl Riley, is a nurse, and the love of Boy Riley’s life.
If you are a fan of Janie Crouch and her Linear Tactical series, you would have come across this couple from the start. You would have seen how they were with each other, witnessed the love that seem to radiate from them even when Boy Riley is out and about, participating in hair-raising stunts and sporting events.
You would have fallen in love with the two, but of course, Janie Crouch just has to make sure that Boy Riley will be participating in the race for his life, as he fights for his Wildfire.
I would encourage you to one-click the book, not just for the wonderful story, but for the hidden gems that you might find along the way.
Boy and Girl Riley finally get their story told. Boy Riley is an extreme adventure guy. Girl Riley is an ER nurse. They have been in a long distance relationship for over 3 years. Girl Riley finds out she has MS and breaks it off with Boy Riley.
This is not my favorite story of the Linear Tactical series. I am not a fan of when an author drags on and holds back information from one of the main characters through most of the story. I kind of wish she she would have came clean earlier on.
Over all I did love learning about the previous characters and where they were in their lives. The book did have intrigue and suspense which kept you reading. It was a solid read from Janie Crouch and I can’t wait to read more.
I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED the epilogue! I can’t wait to read more!
