“Funny, charming, and utterly captivating! I devoured this sparkling read.” – New York Times bestselling author Annika MartinThe man I hate might be the first one to pluck my petals… get the point.
My excuse? I was too busy running my family’s flower shop and winning floral design competitions.
Suddenly that whole pesky virginity thing becomes a big deal when Jacob West walks back into my life. The boy I once loved. The same boy who humiliated me when he stood me up for prom.
This Jacob is no boy, though: he’s all man now—confident, charming, and so sexy my metaphorical blossoms are getting scorched. I can almost forget I’m supposed to hate him forever. Almost.
To make things worse, he’s my main competition now, since he took over his parents’ flower shop. If I give into this sizzling attraction between us, it could jeopardize everything I’ve worked so hard to achieve.
But if I’m not careful, he might not just be the first man to pluck my petals—he might also be the only man to capture my heart.

OMG, I loved, loved, loved this book so hard! I snickered, snorted, snuffled, sniffled, raged, fumed, cackled, giggled, and outright belly-laughed through the entire story. Pardon the pun, but Petal Plucker was the perfect bouquet of snark, wit, humor, angst, steam, and sweet, sweet romance! The narrative was beautifully written in the first person with a primary perspective from our quirky, spitfire heroine, Dandelion ‘Dani’ Wright, florist extraordinaire and current managing owner of her family’s florist shop, Buds and Blossoms. But the cherry on top of my ‘perfect sundae read’ was the epilogue from the hero, Jacob West, childhood friend, high school crush, son of her family’s competitor, and the man who broke her heart nearly 10 years ago when he stood her up for prom. I generally prefer narratives with alternating his and her perspectives, especially contemporary romantic comedies, but Morland’s execution was skillful and absolutely perfect for this story. Believe me; I don’t throw the word perfect out there very often, but everything about this book was perfect, at least for me – perfectly balanced elements of everything I adore in romantic comedies – humor, heat, and heart, with a side of snappy banter, a wonderfully quirky cast, heart-wrenching angst, and steamy, sexy times for our virginal Dandelion (yes, Dani was a 26-year-old virgin) – and this story had it all, in spades, or maybe I should say in dandelions! Because there were dandelions! Petal Pluckers is a sweet, sensual, and totally captivating ‘childhood friends to enemies to lovers’ second chance romance romp and the perfect, feel-good weekend respite! It’s also the outrageously adorable first release in a brand new series from Author Iris Morland featuring the three Wright Sisters, Dani (Dandelion), Mari (Marigold), and Kate. Oops, no flower name? That’s right and there’s a reason, but you’ll just have to read the book – though Kate actually was an oopsie baby, but that’s not really the reason! lol… No spoilers from me, except to say Dani and Jacob were a perfect couple, once they got past all the hurdles standing in their way! There’s that word again – perfect, but what can I say, if the flower fits the occasion, use it in multiples! lol…
So, did I like this book? I think I’ve already expressed myself adequately but to eliminate any doubt – I didn’t like it; I LOVED it! Would I recommend it? You bet, and I am but only for adult readers since it does contain explicit language and dreamy sex. (Go Dandelion! Slight Spoiler: Dandelion was deflowered and plucked – exceedingly well – but never fear, no flowers were harmed in the writing of this book! lol…) Will I read this author again? Abso-freakin-lutely! This was my first time reading the work of Iris Morland, but it certainly won’t be my last! I can hardly wait for the next book of this series! And finally, was I entertained? Completely! I devoured this book in one sitting on a Sunday afternoon. Once I started reading, I simply couldn’t stop! The hours melted away while the pages flew as I cheered for Jacob and Dani, laughing nonstop at the antics of them and their families. What a hoot! Fabulous entertainment and an awesome read!
Petal Plucker
by Iris Moreland
Dandelion (Dani) Wright the current owner/operator of Buds and Blossoms, her family’s shop, never expected Jacob West to ever walk into her shop. But, there he was, after nine years and a broken heart! Jacob, the boy she’d known and loved since she was young, was now all grown up, in all the ways that mattered! His family ran a competing shop, Flowers. The two families were almost like those in ‘Romeo & Juliet’. Dani is so cute as the “in-charge” jilted lover. And, Jacob is excitingly hot as the boy who got away. Can these two ever be friends again? Will family competition get in the way? This is a very sweet, hot and heartwarming story very well written and very well worth your time!

Petal Plucker was my first book by Iris Morland. I was completely enamored by the fun, spring colored cover, and the witty blurb. THIS was a book I needed to read. I dived right in as soon as the book hit my kindle, needing a fun-loving, rom com to brighten my day.
The first couple of chapters were great! Afterwards, I was missing a connection with the story and, specifically, the characters. Petal Plucker wasn’t touching my heart and it made me soooo sad! I really wanted to like this book, but the emotional distance between the two main characters was too much.
I would definitely try another book by Iris Morland; her writing was good, the character development was there. I just didn’t feel a connection with these two characters.
Loved this sweet and fun yet sexy romantic journey that has two childhood friends on a very hard and shaky road that just might lead to forever….. Was an emotionally thrilling action packed adventure filled with family drama, trust issues, witty banter, fierce loyalty and undeniable passion. Could not get enough and looking forward to Mari’s story.

What a fantastic, fun, and quirky start to a new series I am so excited for! Iris Morland has a hit with this witty new Flower Shop Sisters series.
Dani and Jacob’s relationship is like a second-chance, unrequited young love, frenemies, Romeo and Juliet type romance and Ms. Morland delivers it with the perfect mix of everything. It’s sweet, steamy, hilarious, sexy, sassy, and romantic.
This is a book you most definitely want to check out. I can’t wait to see what Iris Morland has in store for us next in the Flower Shop Sisters series!
I thought this was a quick, cute read. The writing flowed well for the most part, but I had my problems with both of the characters at different times. Dani was quirky, and funny, and I liked her for the most part. There isn’t a lot to their relationship besides the sex, in my opinion. They don’t talk about things that are going on in their lives with each other. Jacob seemed like a good guy, but this story is Dani’s POV until the epilogue, so you don’t get to see his motives. I thought what he did was pretty crappy, and although I understand there were circumstances beyond his control, you don’t betray the woman you supposedly love. The ending was sweet though, and they get their HEA. There is a little cliffhanger at the end of this story, but it’s for Dani’s sister Mari.

What an absolutely wonderful book! This series is going to be so good! I loved Jacob & Dani’s storyline. These characters were so realistic & entertaining.
A second chance romance (or is it the third), that I enjoyed. Dandelion (Dani) is now running the flower shop that her father started. She has always had a love for flowers and plants whereas her two sisters do not. Now nine years later, Jacob is back in town to take over the running of his father’s flower shop as his father’s health is not good after suffering a stroke. When he walked into her shop, she felt a connection again. But why was he at her flower shop. Did he come to the flower shop to see her or to scope out the competition? Dani has crushed on Jacob since she was five years old. Then at 17, she was heartbroken when he never showed up to take her to the prom. However, that being said, the rival between the two families couldn’t have been easy for either of them. A cute story. I received an advanced copy of this book and this is my honest opinion.
Wonderful, sweet and fun romantic comedy
Petal Plucker by Iris Moreland is a fantastically fun read! Exceptionally well written with wonderful characters, this second/third chance romantic comedy is full of heart as well as steam, with flirty, witty banter that often made me grin, Dani’s mishaps that caused me to laugh out loud. These two were so fun to read.
Overall, a really great book written from Dani’s point of view that kept this reader fully engaged and invested. I also adored the epilogue/HEA that satisfied yet left me hoping and looking forward to more.
I read an ARC of this book from Hidden Gems and voluntarily share my review.
I thought the female character was in her head too much in this one, I had hoped it would be like her other stories previously but the characters didn’t seem to connect and it seemed they were separate entities to me. I wanted romance and happiness but it seemed bitterness, jealousy and distrust was prominent in this one. I wish there was more rekindling of romance toward the two, Jacob didn’t do much to let Dani know he even cared about her while she worried about it throughout the story. Maybe the next one will be better.
I love books where I have a feeling about what’s going to happen but not the details – and this book delivers that in chunks. And, it’s a raunchy can’t-keep-their-hands-off-each-other friends to lovers to a relationship. In terms of the story that’s not the hot part, it builds to something you can feel approaching but you’re not sure exactly what. This is a fun, accident-prone, hot-as-can-be story that left me wanting more.

Petal Plucker is the first book in the Flower Shop Sisters series. Dani has taken over her family’s flower shop and is living happily enough until in walks Jacob, the man she had the biggest crush on, the man who broke her heart, and the man who is taking over his family’s flower shop. Trying to fight their attraction to each other, trying to find the truth about their past, Dani and Jacob start an adventure of trying to overcome their Romeo and Juliette status. But will one betrayal destroy their shaky relationship?
This book was sweet and steamy, had me both cringing and laughing out loud, Dani and Jacob drew me in and I just had to keep reading to figure out what would happen next! Told almost entirely from Dani’s point of view, we get to see her struggles with accepting who she is, branching out from what her family wants, and accepting the past and learning forgiveness. She’s kind of a hot mess at times, but she’s loyal and ready to help those she loves. I really loved Dani’s character. Jacob was a little harder for me to get into at first because he is often so hot and cold. He had some really tender and romantic moments, though, which helped win me over, too! Dani and Jacob had a lot to overcome, a lot of growing to do, but I loved their moments together. There were also some really amazing side characters and I hope more than just the sisters get their story told! I really enjoyed reading this book and look forward to anything that Ms. Morland releases!
Childhood friendship and betrayal never forgotten; is Jacob a reformed man?

This romance between the children of rival florists is heavy on the steam but I did not note much comedy. In fact, it’s very loosely based on Romeo and Juliet, one of Shakespeare’s great tragedies, though in this case the couple survives swimmingly after undergoing some strife and no warring clansmen were killed in the course of the family feud. Wilting flowers maybe, but no human casualties!
I really connected with Dandelion (Dani), the florist heroine, hero Jacob not so much. Jacob has been the instrument of Dandelion’s main disappointments through the years, though the story of their childhood connection was, for me, a high point. All but the epilogue is told from the heroine’s perspective; finally, at the very end, Jacob gets his say. I think I would have liked Jacob better if more of the story was told with his point of view.
The writing style is otherwise good and, truth be told, there are some very steamy scenes. Turns out Jacob is very vocal when he’s in the mood. The romance develops quickly but, in view of the couple having known each other since childhood, it’s not an Insta-love situation.
I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.
He had been gone for years.. What was he doing back? Her parents thought he was spying on their flower shop. But she had a huge crush on him when they were in school. It seems she still has feelings for him. Things were going well until he stole her design and won the flower show. Now what was she to do she was heart broken.
Ms Midland writes a story with a few tears and a few laughs about a couple that had a history and now were trying for a future. If only their families don ‘t get in the way. Very intertaining.

‘Petal Plucker’ is the first book that I have read by Iris Morland, and I absolutely adored it. I was hooked from the first page and could not put it down for love nor money. It was utterly addictive and I was always wanting more.
From the moment Jacob West walked into Buds and Blossoms, and rescued Dandelion Wright from having her hand stuck in a vase, I was immersed, completely hooked and non-stop page turning. Their story is a combination of everything; from friends to lovers, to sworn enemies and to childhood sweethearts who finally become reunited, all in one perfectly written book.
Dandelion is a very relatable character and is always finding herself saying something she wished she hadn’t, or ending up in an embarrassing situation that Jacob always manages to be a part of. One minute I couldn’t help but laugh, the next I was rooting for things to work out for her and just go right for once.
I loved all the sweet little stories that spoke of all the times Dandelion had allowed herself to fall in love with him, it was a good way of depicting real chemistry and had me screaming for them to get together. The stories of their childhoods are realistic, endearing and I could picture it all clearly in my mind.
Jacob is equally as endearing as a character , he is handsome, gentlemanly and despite all of his faults, he tries hard to not hurt Dani. Their families have been rivals in their businesses for decades, therefore an air of mistrust was always lingering beneath the surface, but Jacob is a character you fall victim to easily.
I loved how detailed the plot was with the inclusion of floral conventions and competitions, and how the rivalry between the two families remains at the heart of the story. It had everything I could possibly want from a romance novel and more. It felt well thought out, well researched and I believed every word of the story.
If I wasn’t already completely and utterly hooked, the last few lines of this book had me squealing and ridiculously excited for the next book in the series ! It is certainly going to be a good one.
I cannot praise Morland enough for her book, it has the right balance of everything and a beautiful cover that completely reeled me in. It’s a must read for all chicklit and romance lovers, or anyone just looking to read a good book.
I found this book to be a very enjoyable read with the well written storyline and characters that were very likable, believable and engaging which kept me totally enthralled as I turned each and every page of this must read book!
I have LOVED Iris Morland’s writing. Her other series are 5 star reads. This book was good. The humor seem over the top. I had a hard time liking Jacob. I found myself rolling my eyes. BUT there were several times my heart broke for Dani. I physically felt during this book. That’s why I gave it four stars versus three stars. A really good author makes a person feel.
4.5 Stars
This is a really good start to a new series. I love the Wright sisters and Jacob is a good match for Dani, flaws and all.
Favorite quote from Petal Plucker:nom, nom, nom,J is for Jacob and he is yummy in my tummy(I choked on my coffee laughing)
The story of Dani(Dandelion) and Jacob is sweet, hilarious and Enchanting.Just when you think the heart clenching feels for the characters is too much she throws in a bit that puts you in a fit of giggles! She somehow found a way to write a sensational love story that is steamy, touching and will put you in a laughing fit.All in one! This will definetly be one of those books I can read again and again loving it more every time! All the feels right now! That’s ending too!Hoping Mari has her own story coming soon because we need it!!
