Dog Eared Delinquent, The Cat Caper, and Chihuahua Conspiracy are three quirky and humorous cozy mysteries. Angie Russo loves to learn and has earned seven degrees from the local community college. But a girl needs to work if she wants to take more classes (I know the feeling). She loves shopping at the local dollar store and her clothing has an 80s vibe (she really does not fit in at the law office). After being shocked by the old coffee maker, Angie can now talk to Octo-Cat. I am glad that she can now talk with other animals without needing Octo-Cat’s assistance. I laughed frequently while reading these three tales. I love the zany incidents and the unique characters. Octo-Cat’s comments are witty and snarky. He is a cat with fancy tastes (Evian water, Lenox teacups, an opulent residence). Octo-Cat’s little paybacks are hilarious and give me insight into what my cats are thinking (makes me want to hide my all my Converse sneakers for protection). Nan is a great character. I am glad we are seeing more of her. The little squirrel in The Cat Caper was so cute. I could just picture the squirrel jumping around and willing to talk for peanut butter. Pringle the racoon was hilarious. I hope we see more of him. I was happy to see Charles once again. He is the perfect man for Angie. I like the author’s casual writing style and the story progresses at a speedy pace. Pet Whisperer PI series is one where you need suspend your disbeliefs and just go with the flow (you will not regret it). The mysteries are straightforward but entertaining. Pet Whisperer PI stories are amusing and playful cozy mysteries that will brighten your day.
I really enjoy the many interactions in this book (especially between the animals & Angie) the whole series. I look forward to the next book.
Three more hilarious episodes in the life of Angie and Octo-cat. There are the usually characters and we get to meet some fun new friends. Mayhem ensures whenever Octo-cat is involved but they always manage to solve the mystery.
This was an entertaining, well-written set of books. In book 4 (Dog-Eared Delinquent) of the Pet Whisperer P.I. series, Angie’s back at work at the law firm, only to find they have hired an intern to help with her workload. She immediately feels something is off about him, but no one will listen to her. She rallies Octo-Cat and her Nan to help her investigate, but none of them are ready for what they discover. In The Cat Caper, Angie and her cat, Octo-Cat, can talk to each other, and together they have solved several crimes. But now he has gone missing! She will do anything it takes to find him, no matter how crazy it may seem. In Chihuahua Conspiracy, Angie’s Nan brings home a dog (Paisley) she just adopted from the shelter, shocking Octo-Cat into staging a silent protest. Angie is trying to get her P.I. business going, but when she discovers someone is stealing from the animal shelter and the animals are at risk of being homeless. Angie has her hands full trying to save the shelter, earn money and help Octo-Cat and Paisley learn to get along. I enjoyed this set of three stories and look forward to reading more books by this author.
All three stories are fun. Octo-Cat and Angie are up to all kinds of adventure. There is magic and Octo-Cat gets kidnapped. Angie needs her best buddy to help her out. When he is gone or he isn’t talking to her, she really misses him and his sarcastic wit. Then her Nan brings home a dog! Now he is really upset. Fun for all.
Totally enjoyable and fun read! Perfect stories for animal lovers!
I totally enjoyed reading Pet Whisperer P.I. Books 4-6 Special Boxed Edition by Molly Fitz. I have been reading this entire series so far and have enjoyed each mystery story. These are fun and fast reads. The stories feature a young paralegal assistant turned private investigator. After an electrical zap at work, our heroine, Angie, discovers she can talk to a cat named Octavious (Octo-Cat for short). Here the adventures begin. This box set includes books 4 thru 6 of the series:
Dog-Eared Delinquent (Pet Whisperer P.I. Book 4) featuring a dog shifting criminal and magic
The Cat Caper (Pet Whisperer P.I. Book 5) featuring the kidnapping and rescue of our hero Octo-Cat
Chihuahua Conspiracy (Pet Whisperer P.I. Book 6) featuring the newest addition, Paisley, a feisty Chihuahua
These are light heated mysteries with plenty of plot twists. However the animals steal the show. What I like best is that the author captures the real essence of dog and cat personalities, as well as a few other animals like raccoons, bunnies, and squirrels. The animal’s words and actions are so typical. The stories are rounded out by a cast of human characters who add to the fun. I cannot wait to read more books in this series. Loads of fun and happy reading
This series is great.
I enjoyed Dog-Eared Delinquent. It is a bit different than the previous books in the series and I was a bit surprised. I did not like it as much as the previous couple of books. It is a lot more paranormal and deals with magic more than the previous books and this didn’t seem to match the usual feel of this series. I do love the characters and enjoyed their interactions together. This book did not have the usual murder mystery either. Overall the book is interesting and fun. The ending did leave me interested to read the next book in the series.
The Cat Caper is an interesting and fun book to read. The characters are great. The mystery is interesting. There are lots of entertaining and fun interactions with animals. I really enjoyed this book.
Following an accident with a coffee machine Angie Russo can talk to her cat Octavius, or Octo-cat for short. Having books 4-6 together in this box set is a treat. These are the books that introduce new characters, both human and animal, and start to really build the Pet Whisperer P.I. reputation. These cozy mysteries are so entertaining and easy to read, I thoroughly enjoyed them and definitely recommend them to all cozy mystery fans and all animal lovers. Molly Fitz is a very talented author who brings her characters to life and she definitely understands animals.
Three cozy and funny story featuring Angie Ruso, her Nan and October-Cat and all the trouble that follow them. What with Angie ability to talk to Octo-Cat and other animals and how that helps her solve some mystery.
A collection of short, fun reads about a woman who can talk to her cat. Angi stumbles upon mysteries and has help solving them with Octo-cat and her Nan.
Who has not wished that they could actually have a conversation with a pet? This is a fun, lighted look at just that situation.
Dog-Eared Delinquent, while just as much fun, is dramatically different than the first three books. There is the usual cast of characters plus Peter Peters, Angie’s assistant. There is something seriously off about this guy! You can learn why Angie and Octo-Cat are able to communicate.
In The Cat Caper, Octo-Cat is missing! Plus Angie discovers he has to be in court Friday. As each day passes, Angie questions if she will ever find Octo-Cat, especially find him by Friday. With the help of some forest critters, Nan, and Charles will Angie and Octo-Cat be reunited?
In Chihuahua Conspiracy Octo-Cat is grumpier than ever. How dare Angie and Nan to bring a dog into HIS home! Paisley is the cutest chihuahua ever. I loved this book. Ms. Fitz does a great job capturing the “voices” and “personalities of both dogs and cats. Paisley’s arrival leads Angie to discover that finances are strained at the local animal shelter.
These are fun capers. Don’t miss them.
Dog-Eared Delinquent****
Pretty entertaining & informative addition to the series. The sleuthing level is rising a bit, danger wise which I think makes this less cozy. Author also added a bit more paranormal aspects, which is cool.
The Cat Caper****
Angie is on her own this time because the mystery is her missing cat. Instead of building on their sleuthing teamwork, her whisperer skills have advanced or rather opened up and so does her relationship status. Fast paced adventure and entertaining group of mystery solvers, in the absence of Octo-Cat, assist a very determined Angie.
Wonderful boxset!!! Loved all 3 of these books!!! Get better as series goes on. Humourous and pager turners.
Frustratingly fun, always intriguing and totally unpredictable. Unpredictable is Fitz’s greatest asset and she proves herself worthy of the title.
Dog-Eared Delinquent (Pet Whisperer P.I. #4) – The crew is back and this time it’s serious. Fun takes a back seat to danger. Dog- Eared Delinquent steps away from the humor, but keeps the ability to be unique. (4 star)
The Cat Caper (Pet Whisperer P.I. #5) – Octo-cat is on the move and it’s up to Angie to get him back where he belongs. Her best asset has become her greatest weakness. Will the dynamic duo find their way back to each other? Fitz continues to score gold points with one of the most unusual sleuthing duos in print. (4 star)
Book 4 This one gets more “magical/supernatural” and was IMO different than the first three books in this series. I love Angie and her granny. Loved the secrets revealed and look forward to the next in this series. The ending was such a teaser for book 5!!!
Book 5 I love how Angie can talk to other animals!!! Octo-Cat is missing and Nan has recruited Cal and Charles to help. There was some romance in this book. Love Pringle!!! gotta read to find out who that is. …
Book 6 Nan has adopted a dog named Paisley and Octo Cat isn’t happy. Another case for Angie to solve and her helper is someone new. This series is so funny and very entertaining.
