Don’t miss the classic tale from King of Horror and #1 New York Times bestselling author Stephen King, described by Publishers Weekly as “the most frightening novel Stephen King has ever written.” When the Creeds move into a beautiful old house in rural Maine, it all seems too good to be true: physician father, beautiful wife, charming little daughter, adorable infant son—and now an idyllic home. … home. As a family, they’ve got it all…right down to the friendly cat. But the nearby woods hide a blood-chilling truth—more terrifying than death itself…and hideously more powerful. The Creeds are going to learn that sometimes dead is better.

It’s Stephen KIng…what can I say more…
It’s a Stephen King. What’s not to love. Very heartbreakingly scary and has you wondering if this was really possible – bring things back from the dead, would you willingly do it or not. Loved it and wished for many years a sequel – Mr. King, are you listening?
Stephen King is the master. Never disappointed with his novels!!
Love Stephen King great writer.
I remember reading it when it first was released and thinking to myself, “Even Stephen King wouldn’t go there”….oh yes he did!
Great King book.
Always on the edge of your seat kind of book.
I wish they would stop making those silly redos and parts forever to the movie. Which was horrible
But I couldn’t finish it because I had a four-year-old son at the time and couldn’t stand to see how it ended. I’ve read almost every book Stephen King has written and loved them all.
[There are some spoilers down below, which I don’t normally include in reviews—but I felt it merited here. Don’t worry, I’ll set them off with ***big asterisks*** if you want to read the review while skipping the spoilers.]
Since I’ve been doing something of a Stephen King revisiting of late, I made a stop back in Ludlow, Maine. A town with a …
One of the best earlier written King books. The book is much better than the movies, you can read what the Dad is actually thinking. Page turner that will keep you up until you finish. Highly recommended!
One of Stephen King’s best.
I love Stephen king’s books He takes u on a rollercoaster ride and then he’ll leave you in suspense for the next book or hits you right in your heart strings. I love when he leaves chills down my back. Pet Semetary does just that. Its a great book you don’t want to put down.
Be very careful what you wish for. Just because you love something doesn’t always mean it’s good for you.
I’m a big Stephen King fan.
If you like Stephen King you will like this book
All books are better than the movies made from them in my opinion
Not the best King novel …
Man that was dark… But Stephen King does this sort of book best, not only was this book an enduring read but it was very much intriguing throughout. Most of the plot swayed heavily towards the paranormal intertwined with everyday events. Much like many of King’s books it’s a long read and the punch line begins to kick in around the halfway …
I read this years ago and the final line is one I remember very well. Entertaining book that kept you reading from the start.
Quite scary, but that’s Stephen King. MUCH better than the movie. The movie was a dud !
Sad and terrifying take on The Monkeys Paw. Had me crying and then horrified at the end.
