I cried, I sighed and I envied Emily but most of all I loved this book. Vanessa Fewings has a cadence to her writing that reflects the dialogue, she is able to evoke emotions through her words that allows the reader to become one with the characters. I was sorry to see it end and am looking forward with anticipation for Montego Bay
This his book is incredible, the way Ms. Fewings weaves this story. This is the first book that I read in one sitting in years. Emily is an up and coming violinist. She meets the handsome and charming Xavier. Everything goes wrong after he mysteriously disappears. In comes James, the devil himself. He has the power to make changes that would affect many. Pervade London has me at the edge of my seat, it was hard to put down. This MMF story is intriguing and suspenseful.
Review copy was received for a honest opinion.
So exquisitely written and read. ~Janise’s Jivin’ Book blog~
This was my first time listening to a book by Vanessa Fewings and I loved it. Pervade London has just enough suspense and mystery and romance to keep me intrigue. Lucy Rivers read the story for us and she was perfect for this book. Her voice was captivating!
Pervade London
Pervade Duet, Book 1
By: Vanessa Fewings
Narrated by: Lucy Rivers
Vanessa Fewings, how have I not listened to you before? This book is my first listen, and I was completely captivated. Emily is a talented violinist with the dream of playing for the London Symphony. She meets Xander in the most peculiar of circumstances, and these two are inseparable. But there are secrets lurking, and when James is brought in, it is clearly evident there is a lot Emily doesn’t know about her Xander. And the thought that she is even drawn to James is hard to imagine! But this story is so intrinsically woven, we are captivated and have to keep listening just to see where things are going. Now I love Xander. He is warm and loving, just wants to keep everyone happy in his life. Emily is an interesting woman. She is drawn to the men in her life, but her dream of being that famous violinist keeps nudging her. And James, well he is just the one I love,…and hate. I just am not sure about him, he is under my skin and I can’t figure him out. This just leads me to wanting to continue with book 2 to find out some of the answers to my questions. I will say this. Fewings has sucked me into their world, one I want to know more about, decide who to trust and who to love. It’s erotic and intriguing!
Lucy Rivers rocks this narration. She is one of my top female narrators and her accent in this one is phenomenal. She found a voice for each character that fit their personality perfectly and made the listen that much more entertaining. Incredible.

Violinist Emily Rampling’s life changes forever when, one day was playing at Piccadilly she meets a mysterious man in need and she feels compelled to help. That man turns out to be Xavier Rothschild—a sexy, eccentric genius who makes her promise she’d never ask him about his past. They fall in love and live together happily for six months—until his past, in the form of a man named James Ballad, comes back to claim him.
Pervade London is a riveting story and I loved listening to it! It’s beautifully written with lots of intrigue and mystery. I HIGHLY recommend having the second book, Pervade Montego Bay, ready when you start this one!
Lucy Rivers did an incredible job narrating.
Pervade London is a contemporary ménage romance written and performed in first-person narrative. It’s the first book in a duet, and it ends on a cliffhanger.
I received this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review.
I didn’t know what to expect with this as the first book by this author for me. But I was intrigued from the very first sentence. It was enthralling, exciting, mysterious, and downright sinful. There are so many twists and turns and I felt for Emily and I felt for Xander and James just about had me with my mouth wide open the whole time. I listened to the audio book of this and that just added to the feelings. The narrator had the inflections and emotions down to a science that it was hard remembering I wasn’t really there.
This one sucked me in. I’m so glad this was so unpredictable! I really liked it! I can’t wait to see how the conclusion ends.
Lucy did a great job narrating.

What can I say about this story? It was not what I was expecting and yet somehow, Vanessa Fewings knew exactly what I wanted and needed. This story had twists and turns that kept be glued to my iPad. Emily has found the perfect guy… maybe too perfect. Before she realises it, everything is gone. Poof! No trace. Like it never happened. And one man is responsible for this injustice. But nothing is what it seems. Xavier and James were two enigmatic men and Emily is drawn to them. Who could blame her? They are opposite sides of the same coin. One is playful and loving, the other is stern and cold. But that cold heart melts although he isn’t willing to admit it. Emily is at times a contradiction. She can be tenacious in her refusal to let her love go and that dedication is endearing. She can also be naïve at times with her unwillingness to listen to warnings. The three of them together? Holy hotness Batman! It was incredible. But it is temporary and as hard as Emily may want it, they cannot be together. At least that’s what James continues to say. And it breaks your heart. The ending has given me some hope but I don’t know how it will end with all the ups and downs. I loved reading this story and loved the characters even more. I cannot wait for the next book in this duet.
This is a story of relationships, power, and choices wrapped in a steamy, velvety package. Fewings’s skills and talent as a writer shine; this is a must read for fans of steamy Romantic Suspense! Plus there’s more to come.
This book is fantastic! Emily Rampling is a violinist at one of the top schools in London, and Xander is the Prince Charming everyone wants to find. He has so many secrets that are insane and he is trying to protect Emily from. However, Emily is way too headstrong to back down. This book was crazy captivating, and I could not put it down! I read most of it on my daily commute, and I almost missed my stop because I was so entranced. Such a good read!
Was I really prepared for what I was going to get on the inside of this read? No, but that did not stop my complete enjoyment of this one. I loved Emily. I loved that she wanted to take charge of her. Power was the one thing that she felt she fully understood. She knew nothing and there were two men that were more than willing to show her what she did not know. I am very excited to see what comes next. And I will most certainly read this one again just before reading the second. I got a charge from this one the first time. I can only expected to get much more from it when the second part comes with it.
Fully charged.
This was a roller coaster of a story. I loved the heat, the love-hate relationship, all the intrigue and danger. Emily was a simple person, trying to follow her dream. Xavier/Xander was sweet but mysterious. James was quite an enigma, seemingly cold as ice and hot as the sun. I recommend this story, and I look forward to the next one.
I received a copy of this through Enticing Journey Book Promotions, and this is my unsolicited review.
Book one of the duet is an awesome opening act and Pervade Montego Bay can’t be released soon enough. The storyline is compelling, twists and turns you don’t see coming and you’ll fall in love with Emily, Xander, Xavier and James.
Have you ever pondered about what happens right under our noses. Living in a bubble, giving little to no thought for the men and women who play a part in orchestrating our world. We all have our part to play, as composers, conductors or musicians in order to receive a standing ovation. A broken string, an out of tune instrument or bad timing is the difference between a masterpiece and a catastrophe.
Emily is studying at the academy of music, her instrument of choice violin. She meets him at the tube station and her life will never be the same again.
Engaged to Xander, in love and everything is perfect until James comes on the scene. It seems Emily has been living an illusion, where things are definitely not as they appear. Where the truth is hidden, evidence disappears and one questions your sanity. Emily is being orchestrated, she needs to find some answers to the puzzle.
This book….holy heck this book….it is absolutely EVERYTHING I love in a book. Complex characters, complex plot, vivid descriptions of places, people, artifacts, music, and yes steamy AF situations. It is like trying to put together a 10,000 piece jigsaw puzzle. You find yourself IN the story, trying to piece together what you are reading and come up with what you think may be a final products. Be aware that this is indeed part of a duet so you don’t get your HEA or even a HFN at the end, but I am intrigued to find out where the author will be taking us to next. It is indeed MMF, with many surprise twists and Alpha male situations that have you swooning (I have already said on more than one occasion that I absolutely want to play Emily in the movie lol), and racing to the next page and the next chapter, but also has you wanting to go back and read the Castle scene again and again (you will thank me when you get there lol). Vanessa weaves a story that combines political thriller with some of the best suspense and steamy moments.
I received a free copy of this book from the author.
I’m not really sure what to tell you about this new duet from Vanessa Fewings. It’s a mix between a suspense and a thriller with some sexy time thrown in. We have two males that have been lovers and one female who comes into the mix.
Emily is a violist who finds Xander on the streets of London looking homeless. He’s anything but homeless. Eventually she meets James. Now let’s just say that James is the pulse of UK politics. Xander is the tech mastermind behind James’s games. Emily is a casualty of the two. If she could be a casualty.
This book is hard to explain without giving anything away. We have a relationship between Xander and Emily then add James to the trio. The men’s lives are very complicated and they try to leave Emily out of it.
The situation is a mess. You must keep up with it all in order to really understand what’s happening with these characters. Thankfully there’s a second book to tie up some loose ends left from London. I’m looking forward to reading how Mrs. Fewings wraps these characters story up in Pervade Montego Bay.
This was my first Vanessa Fewings’s book, and won’t be my last. This is the first book in the Pervade Duet. The storyline is complex, intriguing, twisted, and captivating. The characters are intriguing! Lucy Rivers did an amazing job with the narration. Now, I can’t wait to know what happens next in Pervade Montego Bay!
What a unique, and wickedly sexy romance. I was captivated from beginning to end, trying to figure out the secrets that Xander(Xavier), and James were keeping from Emily. They are both completely captivated with Emily, a gifted violinist. She had always dreamed of playing for the London Symphony Orchestra and was working hard to realize that dream. When she met Xander, her relentless nature to get what she wants, now included protecting the love they now shared. What she never saw coming was James, a powerful, and controlling man, who now inhabits her every fantasy. This story is exciting, mysterious and seductive. The twists and turns keep you on a roller-coaster of emotions. Lucy Rivers is perfectly cast to narrate this sophisticated and sexy story. She delivers a moving performance making me feel all the complex emotions of all three characters. She also does a great job delivering dynamic, and authentic sounding male and female voices. I was completely lost to her storytelling and can’t wait to find out what happens next with Emily, Xander, and James in the second book of the Pervade Duet, Pervade Montego Bay.
This book gives all the feels. I felt like I was on a roller coaster ride and it was fantastic! I love the main characters James Ballad, X. Rothschild, and Emily Rampling so much. This has to be one of the sexiest books I have ever read and I could not put it down. Vanessa Fewings is a very talented author – she blew my mind. You need to read this duet.

Incredible drawing out of mystery, intrigue, and suspense! I am on the edge of my seat to read what happens to these three incredible characters!
