This was a great story and was very entertaining. Once I started I could not put it down. The chemistry between the hero and heroine is sizzling hot. I would recommend this to anyone that loves a great love story.

This was a good read. Skye and Artair have a night of passion. She leaves for New York but soon finds out she is pregnant. When she shows up to see Artair he knows something is up. Sky thinks she can do this alone. Thankfully by the end he convinces her otherwise and they get their happy ending.
Oh my god! Fantastic, gorgeous love story with unconventional beginnings.
“A perfect storm of love, lust, and bone-deep need.”
Artair Longstaff and Skye McRae had met once before – a meeting where they exchanged sparks of electricity. However, their meeting was fleeting. When they meet again, the spark is still there. One passionate night stranded in a storm has life-changing consequences, but they have several obstacles to overcome, not least the fact that they live on different continents.
“The chemistry between us is fierce. First sight of ye, and I was ready to call off the search. I’d found the lass made for me.”
Artair is pretty much the perfect hero. He’s kind, thoughtful and loyal, as well as downright sexy! He had very broad shoulders to carry the weight of his responsibilities. What I loved most about him was that no matter the burdens he carried, he was absolutely committed to Skye from the start. Skye, herself, was no slouch. She had a brilliant work ethic and, although her career was important to her, I loved that she recognised how much she needed Artair in her life. I thoroughly enjoyed their passion and connection – they were infinitely sexy together – and their beautiful fall into love.
Absolutely fantastic book two in the Wild Scots series! This is a compelling, thought-provoking, passionate, steamy second chance romance! The story line is fast pace, well though-out, funny, witty, and emotionally deep. The characters are amazing; their chemistry is potent and off the charts! This book will captivate you from page one and hold your interest until the very end – there is not one dull page to be found. Definitely recommended!

Perfect Storm by Jolie Vines is book Two in the Wild Scots Series. This is the story of Artair and Skye. Skye and Artair have a hot one night stand. They both know that they have so much going on that it shouldn’t be more. Skye is heading out to New York to do a intern for her seamstress work with the dream to make the perfect dresses for the women on their perfect day. Artair has issues with his mother who isn’t well along with other family drama that keeps him busy. But neither can seem to forget the other then Skye starts getting sick and doesn’t know any better as to why until someone points it out. Artair wants to be a part of their new life that they have made, but nothing goes easy for them. Enjoyed their story and this series.
This story contained a man who took on responsibility and accepted circumstances as they arose. He also had a strong a wild dare-devil streak to counter all that responsibility. Artair was a wonderful man but still human. Skye was a strong, determined woman, wanting her own freedom until her options changed. With some steamy scenes between these two, I actually enjoyed how they worked out their futures. I recommend this story.
I received an ARC as a gift, and this is my unsolicited review
Skye and Artair were the perfect characters to fall in love with and want them to work out, the pace is great and there are plenty of ups and downs as well as sweet, challenging, steamy, frustrating, happy and sad times that keep you turning the page. The way we learn more about them as they grow together is fantastic and the family dynamics they have while opposite does nothing to deter each other, there are also some secrets that come out as well as surprises that makes this a great book and can’t wait to read the next in the series!!

Overall Grade:
When Jolie Vines announces a new book, it causes me to pause. Can she do it again? Is it possible that this book could be the one that might leave me a little disappointed? I know it’s wrong. I shouldn’t doubt these amazing authors who pour their souls and words into their stories, but there is sometimes a little doubt. And I don’t want it to happen because authors bring so much energy and respite into my life. But it’s always there, sitting in a minuscule part of my mind.
And here’s the reality. Jolie Vines has yet to dissatisfy me. Instead, with her newest book, Perfect Storm, she continues to capture my heart and interest. Just when I think I might question her skill, she shows me easily her amazing skill at writing heroes who grasp my heart and cause me to swoon for their love of the heroine. In every single book, Vines writes the hell out of her heroes. Artair, the hero of Perfect Storm, is no different. As such, I’ve decided to coin a new phrase when referring to a Jolie Vines book: the Vines Hero. This writer is writing heroes who encompass a multitude of traits that lead you confidently and carefully through the joys and tensions of their stories: alpha, compassionate, empathic, masculine, and passionate. In each of her books, you can trust, you believe, that her heroes will lead you out to the most glorious of happy endings.
Perfect Storm is the story of Skye McRae (Callum’s daughter) and Artair (a friend of Skye’s twin, Lennox). In the first book of the Wild Scots series (Lennox’s story), it is clear at their first meeting that Skye and Artair exude powerful chemistry. This story begins several months later when Skye and her uncle, Wasp, travel to Artair’s island in order to take photos for Skye’s portfolio of wedding dresses. Skye is prepared to leave Scotland for New York for an internship that will afford her advantages in setting up her future as a wedding dress designer. Like the first time they met, Skye and Artair’s chemistry is combustible, and they engage in a one-night stand with no promises for the future. Separated the next day, the two go back to their lives, but they think back on the other from time to time. Then, one day, Skye shows up in Scotland with a revelation. Are Artair and Skye destined for each other, or will their dreams and aspirations derail their future?
While a Vines Hero is something special, as evidenced by Artair’s devotion and care of Skye (even when his control is stymied), a Vines Hero cannot illustrate his traits without the force of a heroine. Honestly, the heroines of Vines’s books tend to create the complications for a possible relationship. Skye McRae has aspirations and dreams, and a relationship with Artair seems impossible as they live in different parts of the world. Artair also has challenges that cause difficulties for these two to have a relationship. Yet, even though much of the difficulties between these two reside with Skye’s decisions for her future, she is above all else intelligent, compassionate, capable, insightful, and she is trying to carve out her place in the world. Through her characterization, Vines reminds us that Artair is right in falling for her. She is the type of woman who can bring light and life into his world. Without her, Artair cannot become his best self. In fact, when you read a Vines book, you learn quickly that the hero and heroine are two sides of the same coin. Their struggles are similar, and they work together to resolve them. It’s this revelation in her books that hooks you.
I know what I love the most about Jolie Vines’s storytelling: it is safe even when it doesn’t feel like it. This isn’t to say that she doesn’t create the emotional depth necessary to grab her reader’s souls. It simply means that the strife of the story won’t sink your soul. It tinges it for a bit before it lifts you up in the end. Watching these larger than life, masculine heroes love their heroines to the depths of their beings makes you believe that you can be loved completely. This is the trust I find in Vines’s storytelling. Perfect Storm manifests this beautifully, and it offers a message about our futures: dreams and aspirations are important, but living a life loved should be a part of our future too. Our future can change to include the deepest of love because, in the end, it will make us better people. This is the depth of Jolie Vines’s writing soul in Perfect Storm.
Perfect Storm is an amazing book! It’s very well written, great storyline with interesting characters.
It is full of love, steamy romance, suspense, conflict and family drama.

4 1/2 Stars
Artair and Skye battled obstacles from the moment they connected in Scotland. Their one night stand was fruitful and their family drama and complications were plentiful.
Mini love triangles abounded with Skye’s failed but long term relationship with her best friend’s brother, Artair’s uncomfortable dealings with his best friend’s little sister, and Artair’s sister’s relationship with his best friend.
Truly not as sordid as that seemed as this was a sweetly romantic contemporary romance that was full of feel good moments. I loved that the author had Skye fly immediately back to Scotland as soon as she found out about her pregnancy. I also loved the way Artair was totally focused on Skye.
Easy to follow and written in an upbeat entertaining style. This was an enjoyable romance from start to finish!

So, I made the mistake of reading this at work. As usual with a Jolie Vines book, I was sucked in immediately. These books are ALWAYS emotional for me so I was the weirdo sitting in her cubicle crying and carrying on.
All that aside, I adored this so much. The main male lead here was perfect. I loved his and Skye’s relationship, the chemistry was off the charts. This made me swoon and I fell in love right along with them. Beautiful story. Plus, it’s always nice to catch up with the McRae’s! Favorite fictional family ever.
Bring on the next one!!

Thrillseeker bags his match: romantic, steamy and fast-paced
Great story, mostly set in lovely, wild Scotland. The passion sizzles between young wedding dress designer Skye (love the island, love the name), and Artair, who’s got a bit of island connection himself. The obstacles to the romance have enough but not excess angst. Artair’s mother is a destructive terror, his eldest sister is mysteriously moody and obstructive, and Skye’s designer boss could be mistaken for Attila the Hun. And the sacrifices these two are prepared to make for each other: O. Henry, move over!
This series is made up of standalone romances but they all connect through extended family and friends relationships centered around the McRae and Fitzroy families. They add a supportive atmosphere for a couple facing major challenges, including some life or death action that had me on the edge of my seat. Knowing the previous generation’s story told in the Marry the Scot series is useful but not necessary to enjoy this new generation’s lives and loves.
I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.
Skye and her man candy have what can only be described as the perfect one night stand. They both knew that was all they were expecting. What they didn’t see coming was that product of their fiery chemistry. This was my first Jolie Vines novel, but definitely will not be the last. The author has an amazing gift for storytelling that draws the reader in from the first page and holds them captive to the very last word on the last page. I can not wait to dive further into the world of the Scots.
