Sometimes, the bad guy wins.Rookie FBI agent and ex-soldier, Mark Locke, is on his first field assignment. It’s a simple enough mission: tail the notorious criminal Angelo Vitali and help build a case against him. Working as part of a team of experienced operatives, he should be safe. He’s not.Angelo is everything the FBI thinks he is and so much more. Dark. Twisted. Cruel. Somehow, Angelo … Twisted. Cruel. Somehow, Angelo contains all the very worst traits of man without being tainted by them. He makes them beautiful and alluring.
Within days of being set on Angelo’s tail, it’s Mark who is taken.
Federal agents who fall into the hands of organized criminals don’t often get a happily ever after. Mark knows his days are numbered, but Angelo isn’t going to kill him.
That would be too easy.
Bad men like their games, and Mark just became a pawn in a game designed to do one thing: break him.

Mark had only been an FBI agent for three months. Not really enough time to contradict his partner or the older agents. They were on a stakeout trying to find something, anything, on Angelo Vitali and his son/love Robert Vitali. Mark is sent into a gathering of the Underground, alone and unarmed, as a male escort. Shortly thereafter, gunfire comes into play and he’s shot in the arm. That’s when Angelo helps him up off the floor and escorts him out of the building and into his vehicle where Robert drives them to the estate. Loki Renard has created such a nail-biting, gut-wrenching, sit at the edge of your seat book with this one. I thought the first book, ‘Taken Boy’, was intense but ‘Perfect Evil’ just took that prize for me. I can’t wait to start ‘Pure Evil’.
I’m pretty sure that Loki Renard is completely evil. If you don’t believe me, you should probably ask Bobby Vitali or Mark Locke. They will probably agree with me, and give you a whole list of reasons why she is. The biggest reason, of course, is going to be because she created Angelo Vitali, who is, without a doubt, purely evil.
Mark is an FBI agent. He’s a rookie and his first mission is to be part of a team that’s trying to take down the Vitalis. When the FBI decides that Mark should go undercover at a party as beefcake, he ends up injured when there is a shooting.
Angelo and Bobby Vitali grab up Mark where he is laying on the floor, wounded and bleeding. Angelo isn’t 100% sure why he did it at first, then he realizes that there is something that triggered his instincts to grab Mark.
When I heard that there was going to be another book with Angelo and Bobby and it was going to add a new guy into the mix, I was really curious as to where the new guy would fit in with the dynamic that Angelo and Bobby have, where Angelo is unmistakably dominant and Bobby is his boy, and where Bobby loves Angelo but also hates him and plans his death. I was wondering how Bobby was going to handle the situation, since he is still young, just in his early 20s, and incredibly impulsive and doesn’t always think through the consequences of his actions. I love where Mark fit in and how he handled everything, as well as how Bobby managed his feelings, and how Angelo deals with it and feels about it.
Angelo is the perfect game player and planner. He is always one step ahead of everyone and loves the ultimate mindfuck. I think he breathes his games and his plans like the rest of us breathe air. Without them, I don’t think he’d be able to live. I need so much more of him. So much more. I need all the Angelo, along with Mark and Bobby.
In this book the story of Angelo and Bobby continues and a new player enters the stage. I can be very short in my review. I loved every word.
What I love about Angelo is that he isn’t a good man nor does he pretends to be. there is a line in the book that says “We are not men bound by love”, Angelo explained, : we are men of the shadows: . That is a good way of describing him.
Bobby made me laugh. And I loved the interaction between Mark, Angelo and Bobby. They are complexed and layered characters.
And the story….. It is full of twist and turns. You just have to read it.
4.5 STARS
“Mark truly was a rare prize for a man like Angelo. There weren’t many Marks in the underworld. Most men were like Bobby, sharp and dangerous. Snakes and wolves. But Mark was different. He was a sheepdog. He wanted to be loyal. Needed to be honorable. Angelo would warp those drives to suit his need. He had no doubt that within a matter of months, Mark would defend him to the death.” Loki,115.
Hello Lovelies! After having finished reading book #1, I knew book #2 was right around the bend(Pocahontasreference ) for me to read next! Another FANTASTIC, DARK READ I COULD NOT PUT DOWN! With the addition of a man of law versus the criminal duo? A great adventure into seeing how such a “virtuous” man has literally fallen into the depths of the Underworld hell!
“Mark had long ago allied himself with the good guys of the world, but now he was coming face to face with the seductive power of a real devil – and he wasn’t sure he could resist. “You’re too pretty to kill,” Angelo declared. “And you’re going to be mine. Just like Bobby.” “All due respect, sir…” “You’re going to do as I say,” Angelo purred softly, tapping Mark’s cheek lightly. “You’re going to do everything I ask, and you’re going to do it eagerly.” Loki,53-54.
“Mark nodded quickly. Angelo released his throat, admiring the red fingerprints which bloomed where his hand had been. He plucked the pills from his pocket and shook them in front of the agent’s panicked gaze. “You can forget about these too. You’re not going to have any chemical proxies propping you up. I want you scared, Mark. I want you fucking terrified. These help you hide from your fears, but there’s no hiding from me.” Those stunning blue eyes widened with awe. Mark was fucking beautiful in that moment, his brawny body bowed with frustrated masculinity. He wasn’t broken, not yet. And actually, he might be harder to break than some others. Men who thought they were strong and had no fear were often brittle. Put enough pressure on them and they’d shatter. But men who could bend? They were the ones who presented the biggest challenge. Looking at Mark, Angelo was certain that this man was a bender.” Loki,32.
Continuing on from book #1, Angelo and Robert (aka Bobby) find themselves being tailed by Mark; an FBI agent on the case to bring Angelo down. When a planned undercover operation goes haywire from loose gunshots, Mark finds himself rescued and healed by the very men he is hunting.Yet, who is really hunting who? Is Mark strong enough to withstand both Angelo and Bobby long enough to get enough dirt on them to keep them locked away for good? Or is Mark much darker than he thinks he really is?
“Bobby knelt there and took it all, his expression impossible to read as his darkly sweet features were covered in cum. “Next time you lay a finger on him without permission, he fucks your ass,” Angelo told Bobby. “So make sure to be an obedient boy.” It was hard not to feel superior and smug in that moment. Bobby had started out so cocky and so rude, and now he was wearing Mark’s seed. A thick string of it was smeared across his lips. As Mark watched, Bobby extended his tongue and licked it up. The sight damn near made Mark cum all over again.” Loki,39-40.
“Cum inside him,” Angelo invited. “Cum inside that hungry ass.” Mark didn’t need more prompting. He grabbed Bobby by the hips and railed him hard, the little gasps and squeals emerging from the gangster only serving to heighten Mark’s pleasure. Maybe one day Bobby would kill him, but for the moment nothing mattered more than spending his seed deep in Bobby’s tight little ass. He came with a roar, his cum shooting deep in Bobby’s bowels. With jerky, panting strokes Mark emptied himself fully, his balls draining into this deserving little asshole’s asshole.” Loki,76.
“again, forcing a rough cry from Bobby as he rode the boy to a mutual climax which swelled between them, hatred meeting with tenderness in a stormy orgasm that began in Mark’s balls and travelled between their flesh, seeming to emerge from Bobby’s cock as they came at the same time, seed shooting both inside Bobby and across his belly. “Don’t forget,” Mark said as he pushed his cock back into his pants. “Die, asshole,” Bobby panted. His comment might have held more sting if his ass weren’t drooling Mark’s cum.” Loki,84.
The steam and filthwithin this book is just as it’s predecessor, DARKLY SATISFYING!!! Not only are Angelo and Bobby still strong as ever with their imbalance of power, Mark adds even more to the fray when he dominates Bobby, yet yields to Angelo as well. I also enjoyed the storyline as well just like the first book. An FBI man going rogue in the end? The blurring lines of loyalties and the tellings of so many lies really turns this dark romance into another angsty situation as in what will happen next? I know I could not put this book down at all! Just wondering will Mark truly follow through with his promise to Angelo, or would he switch sides again for his own reasons?
“Fuck!” He cried out as Angelo’s dick hit his prostate, a bolt of pleasure racing through his body. Angelo wrapped his arm around Mark’s neck, nearly choking him as he started to thrust with hard, possessive strokes that demanded everything from him. “You’re mine. I own you,” Angelo hissed in Mark’s ear, short, brutal, stabbing statements reinforcing everything that had taken place between them. Mark felt Angelo’s ownership like a force of nature. He sensed everything he’d thought he knew about himself being ripped away beneath Angelo’s desire with rough thrusts which took him to the brink of insanity, making his cock so hard it hurt as it rubbed against the carpet over and over again in time to Angelo’s demanding strokes.” Loki,90.
“Cum,” Angelo demanded, grabbing the back of Mark’s hair and pushing him hard against the carpet, the side of his face pinned as his ass waved in the air, welts stinging with every slap of Angelo’s hard hips and abdomen. “Cum for me, boy. Show me you’re mine.” He began to pound even more roughly and without any semblance of care, fucking Mark ragged, branding his ass from the inside out. Mark’s orgasm was forced from him, banged into the carpet, ejaculate smearing Mark’s lower body as Angelo matched him, shooting thick loads of cum deep inside Mark’s ass. There was no choice but to take them deep inside his well fucked rectum, Angelo’s seed marking him forever.” Loki,90-91.
Although I enjoyed majority of this book, the main reason why I gave this one a .5 off (wish it was an option on GR, but oh well) was because of Mark. I totally get his difficulty of knowing what to so since he is 1. abandoned by hime FBI agents during the shooting and 2. Being around two dangerous men and trying to not only stay alive, but stay sane too. That is very hard and again, I get how conflicted Mark is. Yet, he knew being an FBI agent (as well as ex-military) that as soon as he was off of Angleo’s premises, he and Bobby would surely move since Mark would tell the FBI where he was. Not only that, but he made a deal with Angelo and LIED THERE CHANGING HIS MIND LATER ON! His choices led to the deaths of 12 FBI agents during an explosion sadly. I know this is a dark read and that is fine, but even in book #1, Bobby did not get innocent individuals involved. He target only Anglo and did not LIE to go about it. As is the quote near the bottom section after this paragraph, Mark knew his choices and yet, still chose to doublecross and ended up in deepshit. The issue with his medical problem was not explained well enough to me. He was taking pills. What for? Was this due to his stint in the military? Boyhood? When? If it was explained, it was very brief and not long enough for the reader to remember about it. Other than that, I still loved reading this book!
“You’re the worst of all of us, Mark. You’re perfect evil. We don’t really feel the difference between good and bad, but you do. You’re the kind of man who knows what evil is, but does it anyway.” Loki,112-113.
“A trinity of evil.” Loki,112.
So aside from a couple of critics about the reading, I again, liked reading this book all they way through! Was very interesting, dark, and you really get to see how character’s minds (Mark especially) get twisted in the end. Another HIGHLY recommend read that is available with KU! Hope you are all enjoying your reads!
Temptation and damnation have never been so beautiful, enticing, or stunning!
SPOILER ALERT: WHILE TAKEN BOY, BROKEN BOY, AND PERFECT EVIL ARE NOT TECHNICALLY A SERIES, READING BOTH TAKEN BOY AND BROKEN BOY IS RECOMMENDED TO GET THE ENTIRE BACKSTORY ON SOME OF THE MAIN CHARACTERS IN PERFECT EVIL. IF YOU HAVEN’T READ THE PRIOR TWO BOOKS, THIS REVIEW MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS.
Agent Mark Locke. The rookie FBI agent is on stakeout scrutinizing every move of Angelo and Robert Vitali. So why does he feel like the prey instead of the predator? Maybe because Angelo’s been one step ahead of every law enforcement agency who’s ever tried to take him down? Could it be due to Mark’s own insecurities? Or is it something far more compelling with a greater hold over him that even he’s willing to admit? When the FBI’s investigation slams into a brick wall, a last-ditch plan is cobbled together, one Mark couldn’t have dreamed up in his wildest dreams. Why him? Because he’s gay? It doesn’t matter. He has no choice. He either goes in, alone, unarmed, with no backup, or he’s gone. But from the moment Mark makes his entrance, the op goes sideways, inside out, and upside down. Gunfire blazing, chaos ensues, and Mark’s soon in the hands of both Vitalis. Don’t panic. That’s all he has to do. Don’t panic. There’s always a way out, right? Only, is there? Severe anxiety disorder, taking heavily addictive meds, is hardly conducive to not panicking. Escaping a heavily-guarded estate in the middle of nowhere? Not likely. When Angelo finally appears, he’s like nothing Mark’s ever encountered. The man is gorgeous! He’s also the devil incarnate, knows Mark’s every strength, each weakness. Pitting Robert and Mark against each other is devious but effective. Soon Mark doesn’t know which end is up or even who he truly is. Angelo makes demands on his body and soul that should crush him. Mark soon learns not everything is black and white. There’s a connection, however thin and tenuous, that pulls him toward what’s offered. There’s just one hope for salvation. If he goes along with Angelo and Robert’s physical and emotional demands, he’s free. But can it be that easy? As Mark gains his freedom, has he truly escaped? When all hell breaks loose, Mark realizes exactly where he’s landed. Does he have the strength to fight Robert, and especially Angelo, Vitali? If not, then perfect evil has won!
I thought I knew what to expect when I started this story. I couldn’t have been more wrong! But then, I should know by now to expect the unexpected from Loki Renard. Angelo Vitali is Lucifer incarnate, beautiful, irresistible, and unrepentantly evil. In my opinion, Mark is the most stunningly surprising character Ms. Renard’s created to date! To all outward appearances, he’s the consummate FBI agent. He may be a rookie, unsure, a bit untried, but he also seems to have it all together. But beneath the surface? There lurks a very uncertain and broken man looking for something. Just what’s missing even he’s not sure of. But it’s there in the deepest, most secret parts of his soul. That Angelo has the ability to plumb the depths of Mark’s being is eerily terrifying. How can he know what Mark doesn’t? When you throw Robert, cruel, unpredictable, jealous as hell, and psychopathic, into the mix, it’s like throwing a match into a fireworks factory! Appearances are never as they seem. The outcome of every event in this book initially seems to be set in stone. And that’s the hook that captivates! You can assume absolutely nothing about anyone or anything in this book. Convoluted? A maze? Oh, no! Machiavellian would be far more accurate. The book’s title says it all. This story is perfect evil at its most brilliant and beautiful! Loki Renard excels at over-the-top, spine-chilling thrillers, but this one is her best yet. This is definitely NOT for the faint of heart. Congratulations, Ms. Renard! Perfect Evil is perfect in every way! Five stars is hardly enough for this book!
A final note. This is an ADULT book. It contains explicit language, dark themes, and sexual scenes. If you don’t enjoy this genre, this may not be the book for you. There are book synopses and reviews available on Goodreads and Amazon. Use these resources. DON’T LEAVE A NEGATIVE REVIEW WHEN YOU KNOW YOU WON’T ENJOY THE BOOK. It’s not fair to the author. She works hard to provide a quality work product. If you know you’ll object to a book’s subject matter before you buy it, you’re doing yourself and the author an extreme disservice.
Thanks for reading my review and happy reading!
