It starts like any other Monday for Ty Christianson. Fifty laps in his pool, a suave suit, a chat with his mum on the way to his office, dodging countless calls from women, and his faithful yet cynical assistant waiting for him with a coffee. Then a meeting with his business partner and life-long friend, Sal, upends everything. Sal’s hired a new assistant without so much as consulting Ty. That’s … That’s a cardinal sin in their world, but it’s the least of Ty’s worries. Sal hasn’t just hired a new personal assistant, he’s hired an absolute goddess. And she’s off limits to Ty.
Lainey Summer drives Ty crazy with her savage beauty, her effortless sexiness, and her unfathomable veneer. She plays her cards way too close to her chest, and doesn’t that just make her more enticing?
Unlucky for Lainey, Ty’s notoriously irresistible.
Unlucky for Ty, Lainey can resist him.
Or . . . can she?
As Ty sets on a mission to break Lainey, an intended conquest becomes a fixation.
And in the process, he’s thrown into perfect chaos.

I love the male POV for this one. It is always interesting to be in the male mind. Ty is definitely not your average Alpha
If you don’t laugh out loud on numerous occasions while reading Perfect Chaos you may not have a sense of humor. Ms Malpas has written one of the most delightful romantic comedies that I’ve read in ages. The perfect man meets the perfect woman and they have a perfect love affair. Well it would be perfect if they didn’t have to keep it on the down low. A cheeky PA, a sleep and sex deprived partner and a meddling mother round out the cast of characters in this charming romp.
One thing that Ty Christianson does not suffer from is the lack of a very healthy ego. The fact that Lainey Summer is throwing Ty off his game is cause for a lot of laughter. She definitely throws him for a loop when she gives him taste of his own medicine and he finds that he doesn’t like it much. Ty doesn’t chase women they chase him and yet he’s running as fast as he can to catch Lainey. She’s becomes his obsession. Is she enough for him to end his playboy lifestyle?
This has to be my new favorite JEM Book. (sorry jesse) reading a book from the male perspective only was amazing. Perfect Chaos has everything, Laughter ( and I mean falling out of my chair laughing kind) OMG moments, you’ll get mad, you be hopeful, you’ll get a little tortured, but most importantly you’ll get what you need from this book. I LOVED the honest conversations between Ty and Lainey, So mature and the quick to forgive after the talks, love it. That’s true love in my opinion. You take the bad, you understand it, you forgive it and you love stronger and Ty and Lainey couldn’t love stronger if they tried. Take two damaged people, their a bit off the wall ways and throw them in a book and you get Perfect Chaos!
Jodie Ellen Malpas is one of my absolute favorite authors. Perfect Chaos was a surprise release it didn’t disappoint, what an imagination that JEM has. The writing is effortless, I was completely hooked from the first word. I loved that Perfect Chaos was told from Ty Christianson POV, life was wonderful for him until he met Lainey. Tyler’s world was turned upside down. Perfect Chaos was wonderful from beginning to end. It’s five stars an incredible journey that was filled with bumps for Ty and Lainey to fall for each other. Perfect Chaos will give you all the feels and stay with you long after you finished reading.
I feel like it’s been too long since I truly enjoyed a JEM book but this one brought we out of that slump. I love when men get a taste of their own medicine. Boy oh boy does Lainey give Ty a run for his money. I knew Lainey had a “secret” but I never saw it coming. Such a good story but I reallllly needed a bit more from these two.
I liked this book and it’s great as is all of J.E.M. books but I just feel all her books following this man and one night series are not as good as them but still good reads just not great like those two
I’m not really sure what to think about this one; as far as JEM alpha’s go Ty Christianson fell far from the mark for me. I’m tempted to say this felt more like a parody of alpha males, a bit tongue in cheek.
I couldn’t relate to Lainey at all. She felt like a bit of a non entity. JEMs females normally have back bone, a brilliant sense of humour and are quite feisty. These two characters felt drab, lacking. In fact if I didn’t know who wrote this book I certainly wouldn’t have put JEM as a contender. The story was medicore at best, nothing really happens until we get to the last 10% then we are treated to a brilliant twist. It took me a long time to read this as I wasn’t in a hurry to rush back to it but I knew I had to see it through. If anyone else wote it I would have given up long befire th halfway mark.
Its a shame becuase I know this author can write books that literally hook you in from the get go! Maybe its becuase this is written entirely from the male POV; can a female get inside the head of a playboy and do him justice… Unfortunatley its a No from me.
Not my favorite JEM book. Both characters were very flawed and although they needed each other to become whole, the lying throughout was too deep and messed up. Not sure I could forgive. Characters were more difficult to connect with as a result.
I haven’t read a JEM book in a while so when she announced this surprise release, I thought, why not. I’m so glad I did because it was just brilliant. Ty just had me in stitches with some of the situations he got himself into and Sal too. They were like a double act – loved them.
Loved Lainey at the beginning. Lots of intrigue about her life going. Then I wasn’t sure if she deserved our dashing hero, then kind of loved her again.
I know it’s an old cliche, but I really couldn’t put this one down. I read Perfect Chaos back in February, but the story has stayed with me since and I’d certainly read it again. Overall, loved it and would be a great, light-hearted, easy beach read.
I just loved the book. I loved the constant tension and the fast pace. The heroine isn’t the stereotypical virginal and pure, she is just something else! From the first moment Ty sees her he is obsessed with her and his willingness to forgive and move forward showed his big heart and the immense love he has for her
Jodi does not disappoint! Tyler is a man who doesn’t want any commitment. He works hard and plays hard and is successful at everything he does. Until Lainey starts working for his company. Then nothing goes right. Ty needs to get his act together but how?
This book had great characters and story development. I don’t ever feel like I miss out on anything the way that Jodi writes! Not to mention the hot action that takes place!
I absolutely devoured this book! JEM writes the best alpha males and she didn’t disappoint with Tyler. he was the best alpha and it was fun seeing him discover his vulnerable side after his carefully crafted world was knocked off its axis by Lainey. Normally I prefer books with dual POV, but I really enjoyed reading this book from Tyler’s POV as it added to the mystery of Lainey since we really didn’t get to see inside her head.
On a side note, I have seen some reviews that stated there was cheating in this book, but I disagree. This book is definitely one click worthy and readers shouldn’t be scared off because of inaccurate reviews.
Overall Rating – +
“love is the only explanation for the chaos my heart and mind have been in since I met you.”
Wow! Jodi, you have outdone yourself. From the minute I started reading I was completely swept away with Ty. You got completely in his head and I loved the full male POV.
Ty Christianson has it all, great body, good looks, a successful business, a solid bank account and a harem of women on speed dial not looking for anything other than a night with him which is how he wants it.
In walks Lainey, and everything he knows comes into complete chaos when he is so wrapped up in her nothing will quench his thirst until he has her, no matter his rules about not dating an employee!
I can’t express how much I loved Ty. The way he works was alluring and his inner thoughts and actions were hysterical, I loved how on edge Lainey made him feel and there was nothing that could stop him from falling down the rabbit hole and only increased his desire, she was burning him up and was hysterical to read. I particularly loved the flower scene when his jealous/possessive nature came out and I loved his stalker ways!
Lainey has her secrets and seems like Ty’s counterpart. She’s forward, knows what she wants but she’s also been hurt and has to protect herself, so when she finally starts to let him in, I was swept away along with them. I loved the easy flow of them with sexual tension that was bursting to be set free.
I can’t recommend this book enough, there was humour and heat, lots of heat – with a few dozen condoms! They were an easy couple fall in love with. I loved the story, the twist and I didn’t want it to end. Jodi will always be a one-click for me and I’m so glad you gave us this surprise release and after reading the first chapter of ‘Artful Lies’ at the end of this book, I’m now on a countdown to April 30th for what is guaranteed to be another exceptional read!

Chemistry –
Perfect Chaos was an unexpected and pleasant surprise that I thoroughly enjoyed. This really is Jodi Ellen Malpas at her best!! I loved Tyler and Lainey and the dynamics of their relationship as it truly was a Perfect Chaos. Their chemistry was magnetic and Ms. Malpas certainly did not disappoint when it came to their sexual relationship as it was scorching!! The storyline was engaging with just the right amount of intrigue, witty banter, emotion and romance. I devoured this book and it’s a definite must read.
Goodbye Jesse, Hello Ty
What the hell did I just read!? Every new story from Jodi is better and better. I can’t ever put any of Jodi’s book down till the end. Ty and Laineys story is something refreshing and new, not a cookie cut story we find around every corner.
So if you haven’t met Ty yet, what are you waiting for. You won’t be sorry.
It is not my favorite book by Jodi Ellen Malpas – but she gets “extra brownie points” for this book as it is (in my opinion) very different from her normal plot style. Ty was … (not even sure how to describe him but I like her male characters more dominant / alpha) and Lainey is absolutely not my type of JEM woman
But as I said – Jodi gets extra points for throwing out this unusual book as a surprise reveal – but somehow I kind of understand why she was holding onto it for a while until now … because it is unusual and very different …
I’ll be honest. At first, this story was doing really nothing for me…at least nothing more than your average office angsty romance. A very nice twist ended up turning my feelings around and getting me interested in the final outcome. Lainey and Ty could be twins, they are so much alike in their sexual proclivities. Both have absolutely no desire to ever truly be in a relationship again and since she works for him technically, it shouldn’t happen anyway. The push and pull was kind of aggravating at first and then you find out the why and it makes it all worth it. Not my favorite JEM story but not horrible. 3.5 stars
I was surprised as everyone else to see this book and I was just as excited to read it.
Ty and Lainey are likable characters and the story is good but not great for me. I really liked it and I wanted to love it, it just didn’t get there for me.
In some parts, it moved along well and other parts moved along slowly. Sometimes it was hard to keep up with Ty and all his manwhoring ways but then Lainey’s bombshell was just WOW!
Anyway, read it and I hope you enjoy it too. You might even love it, not everyone will as it seems by looking at the other reviews.
I can’t wait for more from this author as she is one of my favorites and this book will not stop me from reading more from her.
Ugh! I’m so disappointed I was so excited to find Jodie had a book out and ready for purchase, and then I started to read. I was disappointed to say the least and wondering what happened. The first 80% of this 570 page book read incredibly slow – like Tortoise hare slow and we were left to deal with constant cheating – I just can’t believe this comes from one of my fav authors. I don’t get it. Then, after reading like 550 pages we get the fastest HEA I’ve ever read. After reading 550 pages we barely got a HEA and it was over! First I thought I was missing pages. I’ve read This Man series 3x and it reads slow and it goes back and forth frustratingly so but it also moves forward. I finally made it to the end and felt completely disappointed by the ending too. The story is about Lainey and Ty. The whole book is in Ty’s POV and this is an issue as it throws off the balance I think. If the story moved forward at a fast pace then it would have been a comfortable read in his POV but it wasn’t. We go round and round and round and round about the same issue and the same feelings left unresolved for most of the book until it becomes tedious. Spoiler: I didn’t like the fact that even though they weren’t together Ty has not one but a few sexual encounters – 3 or 4 I think, then we learn Lainey did as well even though at the very last page she retracts some of it. This wasn’t a feel good book. As well, I found edits. There is always certain sentences that make no sense to me due the regional verbiage and is never explained but I also found a half dozen edits -silly mistakes which shocked me from this author. I can’t imagine leaving a 3 star review for Jodie but I’m not one to leave stars that aren’t deserved and right now I’m not wanting to even give 3. I also don’t appreciate that we were charged a higher price the day it came out either.
This story hits you right in the heart.
This is the story of Ty (Tyler) & Lainey. Ty started an advertising agency with his partner, Sal. Lainey is hired by Sal to be his PA. Ty is really attracted to her, and it’s against rules to have anything sexual going on with employees. This is a real stunner of a story. I just love Ty. Although he is a playboy, he is vulnerable when it comes to Lainey. He doesn’t want to see anyone else but her. She is a total mystery, not only to Ty, but also to the reader. Yes, she’s been hurt, but the way she acts, it’s almost like she has multiple personalities; vulnerable, to professional, seeing other guys, she can switch in an instant. It drives Ty crazy. Then you find out how deeply rooted her issues and fears are. Ty slowly gets her to let her guard down. It’s the way Jodi writes her stories that is so intriguing. They pull you in every time. She just has that knack. Ty’s thoughts are funny at times. I found myself laughing out loud a few times. The name of the book suits the story to a tee. I also like that it’s from Ty’s POV. I love the man’s view of things.
