Wow…this is killing me
Pennies is book one of five. Yes, five! Waiting is not my strong suit.
What an incredible story written in a way that paints the picture of unspeakable evil without forcing the reader to experience it. You get a glimpse of the horror without being outright traumatized.
This is way abuse should be written about. It’s sounds messed up to say, but I’d rather feel the effects of the abuse then live through the physical, emotionally, and sexual aspect as it happens. Pepper had an incredible formula to make you feel without causing irreparable harm to the reader.
I have to say the Word of Warning alone had me so intrigued I couldn’t not read it. I’m so glad I did. The twists and anticipation will probably eat me alive, but I’m more than happy to suffer.
It’s a dark romance that may or may not end…but I intend to be along for the amazing ride.
I didn’t know what to expect with this book when I first picked it up. I’m not the kinda girl that reads romance novels due to the gushy feels. This was something I have not had the pleasure to try before and it surprised me in a lot of ways. The emotions were raw and and connected to what was happening in the story. Elder was masterfully created in ways 50 shades could never hope to deliver. It was dark and seductive all while being down in the mud dirty. I will be reading the next one to see were this goes
Start the series and you won’t put it down
Disgusting
It was very sad at first but interesting. Kelp my attention.
Very painful, not realistic.
I love Pepper’s writing. This is an all too true journey. The fact that it turns into a happily ever after is great.
Couldn’t finish it
I could not even finish it. I gave it a chance because I thought there would be more of a hero and it would not be so graphic, I was wrong. I cannot get behind human sex slave.
I really had a hard time putting my phone down I kept reading through the whole series it was really good! I felt the writer did a good job bring in emotions, sex, and intrigue!
I love Pepper’s writing style. This is a dark romance with some very real issues on sex slavery. There is a warning to this effect in the front of the book. It is a wonderfully told story and she really gets into the psychology of her characters.
Excruciating, nasty and every word that can be used to describe ugliness. The book is well written and the story is amazing. Keep up with the possessiveness of the characters..
I’m a nice person, but this story is sadistic, riveting, and I’m ready to read more.
This book was great. Definitely worth reading. I’m now on the 2nd book and it’s good so far. I would’ve liked for this book to be a bit more descriptive in some areas but all around a great book
This book has been one of my better finds on bookbub, so good in fact that I purchased the rest of the 5 books series and devoured them within the course of 3 days.
Great couldn’t put it down
Really dark but I loved it!
Kept my interest through out
This book was odd. It was slow to start, but by the end I found myself wanting to buy the second book in the series. I want to see what happens next. You need to be ok with reading about slavery, but when it comes to actual violence and rape scenes, those are skipped and just referenced later.
Loved it
