This is book 3 in the series and I have read this series in order. There is a lot going on and a lot of different characters and to get them all straight, but well worth the invested time to read them.

“Pearl Moon Betrayal” is a part of a series. Sei and Olivia have an affair. When she tells him she’s pregnant he leaves her. Once he comes to senses he returns to win her back. It won’t be easy. Olivia is a strong character who is quite capable. Sei is just as determined to have her and their baby in his life. This is a dramatic story with a great plot, multi-layered characters, action, intrigue, and paranormal elements. They have a HEA for now but there is more to be told!

Those who were sworn and bred to honor, lead and protect seem to have many flaws in the practice of their duties. Boredom, ennui, frustration with bureaucracy and repeated failures- ruling is flawed when consensus governs .
Friends, family, lovers, offspring and uninformed humans may suffer consequently- especially in the face of war, culling, betrayals and other lapses.
Where will love and it’s loss lead?
Intense and storied action, romance and adventures

Sei and Olivia meet as her career takes off. She does some business for him and they form a loose relationship. When she finds out she is pregnant and tells him he freaks out and leaves her. Several months later, he tries to come back into her life after he thought about things and was kidnapped and tortured. He sits on the Council that oversees the paranormal societies. He is a dragon. Many other factions want a culling of the humans and others do not. The Council will decide what is best for all factions involved. Olivia does not know of the paranormal factions, but will have to be told and to make some choices. The book brings forth some of the other factions involved and how they are all intertwined. The book does not give any inklings about the meeting or a decision being made…so basically it ends in a cliffhanger for that portion. Sei and Olivia discover a Happy for now ending…but we will see what culminates in future books in the series. I received this book via Booksprout and am leaving a voluntary review.
This is book 3 in the series and I highly recommend that readers take the time to read this series in order. There is a lot going on and a lot of different characters and to get them all straight and who’s who and how they are connected you really need to start at the beginning. There are a number or editorial errors but I haven’t let that impact on the way I have rated this book as the plot and the characters really are mesmerizing and I am in love with this series.
