Peaches – N – Creamed (The Dinner Club Murder Mysteries #6) by Karen C. Whalen is my first book read by this author.
Even though this book is #6 in this series I was able to jump right in without feeling lost. I loved all the twists and turns just when I thought I knew who did it there was a new clue showing me I was wrong. I also love the recipes included in each book. I highly recommend this book to anyone that loves a good cozy mystery.
This book ROCKED! I’ve read a couple of other books in this series and this one was just as top notch as the others! Never a spoiler in my review, the murder mystery takes place in a B&B, where a game turns into reality with a dead body in the mix. Suspects and thrills abound in this must-read cozy that will keep you up past your bedtime. Likable and believable characters take the stage is this well-developed story sure to satisfy any cozy mystery lover. Get this NOW! I received a complimentary copy and am providing my honest, unsolicited review.
Peaches, peaches, and more peaches!
How many peaches can one person eat? Well, if it’s Jane, the answer is plenty! The gang is in Colorado at the B&B run by the brother of one of the club members checking out wedding venues. There is a murder at the B&B after the murder/mystery game is done. But who is the guilty party? Is it the proposed caterer for the upcoming wedding? Or maybe the owner of the winery where they want the wedding to take place? Will Jane and Dale ever get married? Will one of their club members be found guilty? Will the B&B go under from all the bad publicity? No spoilers, you’re just going to have to read the book!! This series just keeps getting better with each book!
I received an ARC. This is my honest review.
Jane and Dale have travelled to the Western Slope of Colorado to scout out venues for their upcoming wedding. They are staying at a B&B with their friends while they explore. They should have know that trouble would follow. After all Jane is a murder magnet I loved seeing Jane so much in love with Dale. They make a great couple. Their personalities mesh. Dale is there for her as she is for him. I didn’t want murder to spoil their happiness. Jane is brave and caring. I hated to see her in danger but I knew that she would do what’s necessary to help those she cares for. The story is well written and filled with nonstop suspense. Since there are multiple suspects, it wasn’t easy to determine who the killer was. Peaches figure prominently in this story which added an interesting angle. I loved the recipes that were included. Peaches-N-Creamed is a great addition to the Dinner Club Murder Mystery series. I enjoy Karen C. Whalen’s writing. Her characters, their dialogue and a complex mystery make her a must read.
I received a copy of this book which I voluntarily read and reviewed. My comments are my honest opinion.
