My review of PATH OF THE DEAD An Arthur Nakai Mystery by Mark Edward Langley
PATH OF THE DEAD by Mark Edward Langley won’t disappoint! At first I found myself feeling overwhelmed with details, only to find myself engrossed in the story because of his precise descriptions of everything. Mark writes in such clarity that you’re not just a witness to the happenings in this story, instead you feel as though you are right along for the ride. I loved having a new culture to me brought aboard. Arthur, Sharon, and Fasthorse are all characters you will want to learn and explore more with. How do you top this book off? By reading Book 2 of The Arthur Nakai series, DEATH WAITS IN THE DARK. I highly recommend this book and look forward to reading the next.
I really enjoy Mark Langley’s Book Path of the Dead! Especially the last 10 or so chapters!! Great chase and rescue up in the High Country!! I love the action and suspense!
Continued success Mark! I am looking forward to your next book! Barb said it was really good! Rp
This is the first book in a new series a engaging hero. Arthur Nokai is a former marine and tracker for the Border Patrol. He’s up against a psychopathic antagonist who kidnaps Nokai’s wife and the Native American hero must use all his skills to run the quarry to ground before it’s too late. I found this novel very exciting and hard to put down. There are a few surprises thrown in that you won’t see coming.
Good story, but some of the facts about the guns described are wrong. Glocks don’t have safetys you click off.
Very good. I loved it takes place in New Mexico.
An interesting page turner wherein a woman is abducted by a violent person and her husband who has exceptional skills gained as a marine sets out to track them against the orders of local law enforcement officers and the FBI. He refuses to leave the fate of his wife to others. Discovering her abductor is headed to the Canadian border he must locate them and nothing will keep him from saving the most important person in his life.
Thought it was rather good for the author’s first book. Wish there would have been more physical description of the characters. Maybe a little more emotion from the characters.
Good Navajo police mystery.
I am surprised this book made the Boik Bub list. My review will be like the book- short, predictable and hardly worth reading to the end. Narrator was okay.
This book gave me insights into a tribal culture I knew little of. The characters and the scenery were vividly described.
It kept me interested all of the way through to the end.
I loved it. I was pulled on from page one. I finished it in one day.
Very good, wanted to keep reading! Just way too short. Would love for it to have been developed a bit more with a better wrap up at the end.
Unique book. I liked the male and female viewpoints.Very realistic.
Path of the Dead by Mark Edward Langley was a good solid read. It grabs you from the start with a murder and keeps your attention as Sharon is taken by the serial killer and her husband Arthur (known tracker) hunts them down and tries to get her back. I found the story interesting and the characters are compelling and you get to know them as the story unfolds. Thank you Netgalley and Blackstone Publishing for allowing me to read this ARC book for my honest opinion.
