Yet working closely together brings stirrings of that earlier time, and begins to raise important possibilities for them both.

Good book. It was interesting to see how everything works out in the end. Alicia Best is a great author of easy to read and good feeling books.
Alicia delivers another solid Shady Piers story! And who doesn’t love a second chance? I love the Shady Piers community. I love that in most of the books we see people we’ve seen in previous books, and might see in future books. It’s a community that fosters love and has residents who truly care about each other. I’m waiting for Book 7!!!
A second chances romance, Pearl and Aaron have unresolved issues that need to be addressed. Pearl thought she was doing Aaron a favour by turning him loose, only to find that he didn’t want that freedom after all. Instead, Pearl became a rolling stone but found that nothing she tried gave her the fulfillment and wholeness she had with Aaron. Meeting again after a number of years under the worst of circumstances, makes both of them realise that the original spark is still there. It takes a life-threatening storm to bring the picture into focus and clearly outline the choices they have to make. The story is clean and well written. It is part of a series but is nevertheless a standalone with a happy ending. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
I like second chance stories it like if you really mess up there is perhaps a way to correct the problem. In this book, you see one issue when Pearl gave up something she loved for Eddie. That is always the wrong way to go. I like that the characters are well-developed and the author did a great job showing the emotions of the characters. I enjoyed reading this one and I would completely recommend to my friends. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it
Breaking up after College graduation Aaron and Pearl get a 2nd chance 12 years later. Will they try to take the chance with all their changes from over the years since seeing each other last. This is book # 6 in an awesome series. The characters are believable with ability to bring out emotions. I received an ARC and am voluntarilly reviewing this book. I highly recommend this book.
Pearl is leading a life she doesn’t like. She allows other people to convince her to do things she really doesn’t like to do.
Aaron has been working for twelve years in a company and now he is about to get his reward. When he gets to his interview, everything changes in his life.
Although I enjoy reading the book, I have to say that I didn’t like it so much as the previous books in the series.
Pearl’s character is weak, she doesn’t know what she wants and allows others to make decisions for her, but she is not happy with them.
I don’t like Eddie taking decisions on his own and without asking Pearl her point of view. However, I like Abigail, his little sister. She is the only one suffering from their break up.
And of course, I hate Sherry, the rude and bossy boss. We met her in Common Ground and although she was described there as “a drill sergeant ordering the staff around”, in this book she is mean, rude, and horrible.
The problem with Aaron and Pearl is a lack of communication which is the worst thing that can happen to a couple. If you are not able to tell your mate what you want, what you think, then there will be misunderstandings that can break the relationship.
All in all, I enjoyed the book.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book.
Love does win
Second Chance Romance!
Wonderfully heartwarming story of Pearl and Aaron getting a second chance at finding love and happiness. The characters descriptions are well thought out and give the story depth. Communication is key to building relationships and so glad everyone realized their mistakes in time to get their HEA! I look forward to the next Shady Piers romance. I received an arc copy and am happy to leave my honest review.
Past present is the latest Shady Piers Romance novella as well as a stand-alone with a HEA. Pearl and Aaron had an incredible relationship and were head over heels in love so Pearl ended it ‘for his Sake’. Sherry is a bitch, a bully and a shrew and has no place in business. Eddie is a bore. Pearl is annoying … I cannot understand why she ended such a good relationship in the first place. Aaron is one of the good characters in this book.. along with Eddie’s sister. The story itself was well written but I did not enjoy this book as much as the others in this series. However if you are looking for a short, sweet, second chance romance then you will definitely enjoy this book.
I received an advanced copy of this book and am voluntarily reviewing it.
A wonder short second chance romance with entertaining characters. Pearl and Aaron had a broken engagement 12 years ago and now co- workers. A great short romance.
Pearl is stuck in a relationship with a controlling man she doesn’t love. Aaron Grant has been working too many unappreciated hours the past 12 years for Knight Techno. He thinks he’s working towards a management position running the new division in Shady Pines, Maine. Aaron and Pearl dated in college, but he left her to travel the world. Sherry Franklin is annoying and selfish playing them both like puppets trying to win her favor when they work together. It doesn’t seem probable that Pearl was the only interior designer to apply for the job of decorating the new site and that Sherry never checked her prior fictional work experience. I don’t know why Pearl would live with Eddie so quickly, let him control her life, and that he couldn’t see she was unhappy. I was rooting for Pearl and Aaron to find what made them happy, which certainly wasn’t their current situations.
Wonderful Second Chance Romance
This book is part of the Shady Piers Clean Romance series. All of the books are written to stand alone. This is a second chance romance that is a bit different. I liked the way the author presented the problems of the past intertwined with the problems of today. The characters are well thought out and deep. This has been a good series to read as each book leaves the reader to think about it for days after reading it. I received this ARC book for free and this is my honest review.
Past Present is another heartwarming story by Alicia Best set in Shady Piers, Maine. This is the page turning short story of Pearl and Aaron. I thoroughly enjoyed this second chance clean romance. The twists and turns and the emotional roller coaster all end with a happily ever after. I have loved this series so far and I look forward to her next book. Recommend this delightful read!
A very enjoyable story by one of my favorite authors. When two people who loved each other in the past but went their separate ways meet again can their love be restored? Can they find what they once had? I think it’s very entertaining.
As a believer of fate, I enjoyed the book very much. Pearl and Aaron who were engaged in college but broke up, reunite 12 years later through job interviews in Shady Pines. Are second chances in order? You’ll have to read Past And Presant to know. I received an advance copy of this book and I voluntarily wrote an honest review. Beth
I received an ARC of this book and in return offered to give my thoughts on it. I enjoyed this story greatly. They were college sweethearts and split up as the were graduating and its years down the road and they cross paths again, and its a story of if its possible to go back again and if it would be smart to, especially when there’s so much that has gone on since…great story with wonderful characters and fantastic writing!
A couple breaks up upon graduating from college and meet again twelve years later working for a dragon lady. A family-friendly romance that can be read in a long afternoon, I read an Advance Reader Copy and this voluntary review is my own opinion.
Pearl and Aaron were college sweethearts when she broke it off because she was scared they wanted different things. Twelve years later Pearl is living with a man who she is just settling for and Aaron has come to Shady Piers to vie for a promotion. The beginning of the story is a little slow but once Pearl and Aaron begin spending time together things really pick up. I received an advance copy of this book and I voluntarily wrote an honest review.
Book six in the Shady Piers Clean Romance series is a well-written book that I enjoyed reading from cover to cover. Pearl Simon and Aaron Grant’s story of a second chance is one I want to read again. I received a copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
They were college sweethearts who parted and are now thrown together by work. This is a sweet romance but not squeaky clean IMO. Will these two take a second chance or will the present keep them apart? I received an advance copy of this book and I voluntarily wrote an honest review
