4.5 STARS!!
Enthralling, touching, addictive and enticing! Just terrific!!
This was an utterly amazing conclusion to a fabulous series that kept me captivated till the very last page. I couldn’t put this book down!
Passion Rising is well-written, very emotional, fun, hopeful, and very inspiring. The storyline is awesome and the characters memorable. Most of them likeable, others I enjoyed hating and everyone believable. The chemistry between Maddie and Tyler was of the charts.
The entire series is filled with the things that I love most in book; there was so much sentiment and beauty within the pages that the emotional depth to the characters was astounding, and the settings felt incredibly alive.
All in all, an ingenious series, which I highly recommend!!
NO!It’s over? Say it inst so?!
Over the last four, devilishly funny intricately detailed books my fascination with Tyler and Maddie along with the feeling of ‘relatability’ towards them grew.
The passionate, twisted to the 10th-degree storyline and inner dialogue was apart of the charm to a crazy blooming romance that has you thinking, by God, he might just pull this off!
Being that this was one of my most anticipated reads so far this year, I was to see this all come to an end – yet I was also equally curious to see how the two would fair after all the action-packed, suspenseful, heartbreaking albeit hilarious times they have been through!
Well Done!
I was not disappointed! Gah~ Written with precision and depth of understanding, J.A Huss, and Jonathan McClain are a dynamic writing team! I enjoyed this book and would recommend anyone needing a break from the norm to give this books 1-4 a try!
5++++Stars!!
amazing book!! Such a great series
Passion Rising is the conclusion to Tyler and Maddies story and the previous books do need to be read before starting this.
Now back from Mexico, Maddie and Tyler’s lives finally seems to be going well. Happier than they’ve been for ages, they’re both riding the high and enjoying been with each other. It’s not long before real life intrudes and brings insecurities and old faces from the past. Will Maddie and Tyler be able to overcome them and get their HEA?
This instalment isn’t as action packed as the previous books and what it lacks in action it certainly makes up for with the complexity of the characters. The authors somehow manage to make two extremely complex, troubled, quirky characters into two of the best characters I’ve read. When I first started this series I wasn’t quite sure what to make of Tyler. His mind was so chaotic and he was so random that I didn’t think I’d like him. I ended up absolutely loving him. His quirkiness, his darker, more troubled side and his sense of humour cracked me up.
I’ve really enjoyed reading the Original Sin series and a part of me is gutted to say goodbye to Maddie and Tyler. Their story is an action packed read for sure.
Ever wonder what happens after the HEA of a romance novel? Passion Rising sort of answers that question for Tyler and Maddie. This rather existential, final book in the Original Sin Series thoroughly shows the growth in the characters as they evolved from total messes to a united front in honoring their lost loved ones.
Maddie and Tyler face their emotional demons, specifically the specter of Scotty, whose opinion mattered greatly to both of them. His core values are a beacon shining light into both their souls. Scotty’s epitaph of “For those I love, I shall sacrifice” works equally well to describe the passionate devotion that Maddie and Tyler share.
While I loved that readers got some follow up on Maddy and Tyler, I felt the last book meandered a bit (almost like Maddy and Tyler’s prior years aimlessly wandering through their daily lives). I had hoped for some answers to my questions about Pete and the DEA, but didn’t get them. I did get a funny, heart-warming story about two complex characters, and for that, I am thankful.
Passion rising is the emotional conclusion to Julie A Huss and Johnathan McClain’s humorous, sexy, action-packed series, Original Sin. Where these lovable characters end up is anyone’s guess, but know that where one goes, the other will follow.

My heart is full. Passion Rising marks the end to this intense, laugh out loud funny, sexy as all get out, gut wrenching and heart warming series. This series is the brain child of two incredible creative talents in more ways than one. The entire Original Sin series was a revelation. The evolution of Tyler and Maddie as individuals and as a couple epitomizes”darkness into light”.
Maddie and Tyler are breathing a collective sigh of relief. They have faced down evil and pain at every turn. It’s time to ring in the New Year and start fresh. However, where Tyler and Maddie are concerned danger isn’t far. They must run through the fire in order to prove themselves one more time. Maddie and Tyler together as a united front; running on their scorching lust and soul deep love are forced find a way to survive again.
Tyler’s ability to begin to move away from the hurt from the past and go forward to something new, was beautiful to watch. His charm and humor carried him through. He is definitely one of the good guys and his willingness to learn was so damn sexy. Maddie was full of sass and class in her own way. She never stopped climbing that mountain. Maddie makes her peace with her life choices and is ready to take her luck and pay it forward. Together as a couple they burn up the pages and compliment each other in the best ways possible.
Julie Huss and Johnathan McClain blew me away! These are characters that will stay with me forever!
This is a great conclusion to the series. Maddie and Tyler have had a wild ride and now things are settling down. Each of these characters begin to work on themselves and the baggage that they’ve been carrying for years. With the unconditional love for each other they begin to make progress toward a healing that will only deepen their connection in the years to come.
Tyler has quite a moment where things finally click for him and I loved watching this crazy man make sense of his life and the circumstances and decisions that has brought him to this point. He’s always doing things without thought or process and this installment of the book continues to show us this side of his quirky nature.
Maddie also is faced with figuring out what her life should look like or could look like. I loved the growth that both of these characters went through on this long journey to each other. This is a series with layer upon layer of goodness. You can get as much or as little out of it as you choose.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
With Passion Rising it is time for Tyler and Maddie to come out of the darkness and into the light. Yes bad things have happened to both of them, loss of friends and loved ones, physical pain and suffering, the humiliation of taking a job you really don’t want to do. But they have internalized their feelings and even though they speak to people they haven’t let them in. This book is one sexy romantic thrill ride but it also reminds us that no matter what you’ve done or lived through redemption can be had and life can be enjoyed especially with the right partner. Julie and Johnathan, I go where you go.
Passion Rising is the perfect end to the Original Sin series! Huss and McClain outdid themselves with both the character development and the overall story. The main theme of forgiveness and redemption almost made me cry – until Tyler said something funny and made me laugh instead.
