Growing up a military brat and spending eight years overseas with the Army Medical Corps, clinical social worker, Willa Smith, has had enough of rules and regulations. Still able to work with veterans as she did at the VA Hospital, she is much happier at the new and far more relaxed South Avenue Shelter, until one of its residents is implicated in a murder.
Former military turned security … security operative, Dimas Mazur, has worked for PASS security, his brother’s company, since he returned stateside after a disabling injury. The job keeps him busy, but when a homeless veteran he knows runs into trouble with the law, he doesn’t hesitate to jump in. The strong-headed counselor at the shelter where his friend stayed is an unexpected bonus.
Until she puts herself square in the sights of the man he’s trying to take down.

Life & Limb is book 2 in the new series that Freya Barker
Has written for us. Book 2 in the PASS series
Life & Limb puts Willa & Dimas in the spotlight and as always we are given a book that deals with Willa’s work with Veteran’s at South Avenue Shelter. Dimas gets involved when a veteran he know somehow ends
Up On the wrong side of the law.
Each Others first Impressions are very different and as ever Freya Barker takes us on a journey that covers action,
Intrigue, suspense and of Course romance.
An excellent follow up to Hit & Run
Dimas is in security at PASS and Wills just started as a social worker at the shelter. They both are trying to find ways to fit in. Dimas after two tours in Iraq and the loss of a limb. Willa because she does not conform to her parents beliefs and starting over.
But now we’ve got homeless veterans being killed, others framed for murder and Dimas has himself in trouble with a client.
These two meet, some sparks fly, they have amazing chemistry some misunderstandings along the way, but they are perfect for each other.
“Because I would sacrifice life and limb for you.”
I’ve been waiting for Dimas’ story since we met him in the previous book of the PASS series and boy oh boy, that man did not disappoint. Willa and Dimas really took up residence in my heart. I highly recommend having a bottle of wine and a box of tissues handy when you read this book.
Freya Barker, once again, takes us on the extraordinary journeys of her ordinary characters. Her characters are so real and down to earth that they could be anyone’s friend or neighbor or family. That is really Freya’s gift – her words bring her characters to life.
As always Freya’s book is great. I read the first one in this series so I had some expectations going in, and it didn’t disappoint either. Dimi and Wills are great, and I loved getting to see so much of Rosie and Jake (they are the couple from book 1) and to see how their relationship has progressed since book 1. And now I can’t wait for book 3 so I can see who gets matched up next and so I can catch up with these two couples too!

Not only do i love this PASS series but I love everything I have read that Freya Barker has written in fact when someone on a site asked for recommendations for romantic suspense she was the first author I named I read everything she writes and I haven’t been disappointed yet. I love how all her books interconnect but at the same time are a stand alone story I would advise that you read book 1 Hit & Run not because you need to but because it is just so good
This is Willa’s story she is a new character that we haven’t met before but she is a striong determined woman she is a military brat who then went on to work in the medical corp but now she is retired and has started working with vets at South Avenue Shelter. Then one of her vets is accused of murder and Dimas Mazur who works for his brothers company Protection and Security Services (PASS) and is a friend to that vet steps into help Soon these two are throwing sparks of one another and finally Dimaz can see why his friends gave up their bachelorhood but as she is faced with danger from the man he is hunting will he be able to keep her safe
This is a beautiful romantic suspense story with powerful, independent and strong characters. Willa and Dimas are characters who are easy to connect with. This has an amazing range of powerful emotions.

I’m in love with Dimas. And Willa. And sure with Britt and Twister. I love coming home to Great Junction, meeting Jack and Rosie again.
I love the style Freya barker creates her characters. A little older with a lot of wisdom, and that Willa is comfortable in her own skin. That Dimas hasn’t a perfect body but a perfect heart. The relationship between Dimas and Willa started slow, grew and became so strong and that they solved conflicts with communication, understanding and love. They learn how to handle a relationship and grow together .
I love the hints for Bree and Yanis. ( and what about an HEA for Willas sister ?)
The suspense plot was intense as I like. Some murdering and much justice for all. All the pieces fit together perfectly and the pace is high. This story has everything you need for a great book. But you always want more. Freya is such a talented great writer. You might get addicted to her book. Me I surely am .
Life & Limb is such a great story. It has good storyline with hot characters. It is fast paced suspense romans with a lot of twists, emotions and intrigue . It will keep you on the edge of the seat and you will not put this down.
It’s captivated from the first page.I like that this author keeps you guessing till the end
Dima and Willa are great together .
Good series, it could be read as standalone but why will you deprive yourself?
Enjoy reading!

I absolutely loved this latest book in the Pass series! Willa after serving in the army works at a shelter for vets. Its there where she meets Dimas who is there to help one of his buddies who lives at the shelter. Dimas is attracted to Willa but doesn’t know if he can be what she deserves. Despite of everything, he can’t fight the feelings that Willa stirs in him and wants to take things to the next level. Willa can’t deny that she is attracted to Dimas but can there be anything more? I absolutely loved this book there was suspense, danger, romance, hot steamy times! I was hooked from beginning to end and didn’t want to see it end. I can’t wait for the next book in this amazing series and I highly recommend this book to all. Well done!!!
I have been eagerly anticipating this book and it was most definitely worth the wait! This is the second book in the P.A.S.S. series and follows Dimas’s and Willa’s story. Both are ex-military, Dimas, a veteran and Willa a clinical social worker. Sparks fly from the get go with this couple and it only gets more interesting when they both try to investigate what happened to one of Willa’s shelter residents.
Lines are crossed and not everyone is who they claim to be which makes for suspenseful twists and turns. As Dimas and Willa delve deeper into the case, their relationship blossoms and becomes more than they expected or believed was possible. Dimas is sweetly protective of the woman who wrecked his conception of what his future would be and Willa allows her walls to come down far enough to let love into her life.
This book grabbed my attention from page one and I just couldn’t put it down. I love how this author just “gets” people and in doing so brings us characters that are not only likeable but memorable as well. “Life & Limb” is another Freya Barker novel that earns a place in my “Read Again” collection and I highly recommend it.

Book two of the PASS series, though it could easily be read as a standalone book, I highly recommend you start at the beginning and get to love the characters and enjoy they as they move along. I am left knowing that even though I am not quite ready for the end but I know Ms. Barker will bring them along to help our new characters grow.
Willa is a new character to us but she fits right in. She is a strong independent woman who is a little set in her ways and beliefs. After watching her parents, choosing to not need a relationship to live her life to the fullest. Going against odds and serving her country and then coming back but wanting to continue to help those who have served. She was excited for this opportunity at the VA Shelter, connecting with the other Vets. Hoping she can help them move forward.
Dimas might have gotten a little bit of a bad rap in book one. He turns out to be so much more than I expected. He is caring and perceptive. Seeing what people need before they even know, and doing everything that he can to make others happy. He hides his own struggles well and doesn’t talk much of his time served and the incident that brought him home. He was definitely not looking for a relationship but Willa caught his eye and he never got a chance to look back.
The explosive beginning when these characters meet will draw you in and hook you. The back and forth until they decide that maybe the draw and attraction might be worth a try. Watching them slowly look at what they always believed and maybe bend those beliefs a little is beautiful. Willa and Dimas both try to separately try to uncover the mystery that is so expertly weaved into the story. Maybe it will be easier if they communicate and work together. Dimas jumps into full protector mode.
Once again Ms Barker tackles a difficult life situation that is a bit of an eye opener but it doesn’t over power the story. Emotions will be high, full of ups and downs, smiles and humor so be on the ready.

Willa and Dimi are the perfect match they don’t take crap, they are stubborn and they have no clue how to deal with each other and they are passion about their jobs along with the people around them. Things heat up for them not just with attraction but also with murders that are linked to Willa’s work and Veterans that Dimi knows, which leads to drastic steps by Dimi and danger for Willa. You won’t be putting this down as it’s chock full of Alpha men, strong women, suspense, hella steamy scenes, a motive for murder and a killer to find!!
ONE INCREDIBLE WHIRLWIND!!!
Fantastic! Freya hit pay dirt with this chart topping wild ride, keeping you riveted on a razors edge, presenting this beautifully composed dynamo, spinning one arresting storyline and gripping plot, wrapping this baby up sleek, shiny and tight. A raging vortex of stunning mishaps and surprising circumstances, catapults those churning emotions into play front and center. Braided, bound and entangled, exposing the explosive ups and agonizing downs, grounding in it’s strength and awe inspiring in it’s depth. Anarchy, escapades and havoc run amuck, kicking this bad boy into a surging tempest, blasting it into a tailspin with a life-changing realization. The drama, uncertainty, intrigue, danger, mounting suspense and precarious situations along with a boatload of trouble while dodging calamity, you have one mind-blowing experience. The attraction and chemistry sizzle through the pages, alluring and mesmerizing, binding them to one another beautifully. The characters are realistic, complex and authentic with depth and qualities that blend and flow. The scenes are so vividly detailed and descriptive it gives the illusion you were right there in ground zero with them. Remarkable job Freya, thanks for sharing this bad boy with us.
4.5 Stars
This is the second book in the series and it had me hooked has much as the first. At times this book had me on the edge of my seat waiting for what was going to happen next. I didn’t figure out who the bad guy was so I gasped when that was revealed. Dimas and Willa had me hooked on their journey. I love Willa’s big heart and her fierce loyalty to those she cares about. One of my favorite parts of the book is when her niece comes to stay with her. I also loved Dimas’ parents. They are a hoot. This book gives me everything I look for in a book; heat, heart, humor, and suspense. I said it before, but I will say it again Freya Baker has magic when she writes because I instantly get lost in the book. Not gonna lie I woke up in the middle of the night just so I could finish this book because I had to know what happened to the characters. I may be a little sleepy today, but I regret nothing.
Freya does romantic suspense better than just about anyone else! Dimas and Willa are absolutely brilliant and this book is in my top reads of 2020.
Life and Limb – a great addition to the Pass Series, Freya Barker has given us another amazing book with great characters that we get to know. As always, they have many layers to them flawed, strong, independent. Freya is the queen of the romantic suspense story; the relationship develops between the alpha Dima and the independent Willa. The plot pulls you in, but it is the magic of Freya that keeps you turning pages, suspense, romance and HEA.
I received an ARC for honest review.
Can I start a review by saying how much I love an author? I’m going with yes, because I freaking LOVE Freya Barker. For years I have been devouring release after release the second I can get my hands on them and not once have I failed to fall madly in love with her books. I just know when I pick one up my whole world is about to get a little bit better. There’s no way big enough to thank a person for bringing that kind of joy into your life on the regular so I’ll just gush about my love for her instead. Life & Limb was a book I absolutely needed right now.
With the world in a state of chaos and stress crushing down on just about everyone this book took me out of reality and into a world I never wanted to leave. Dimas and Willa’s story contains Freya’s signature blending of suspense that keeps you on edge and romance that keeps you swooning and then gets even better with some truly beautiful and moving emotional moments.
Life & Limb is such a great story. It was fast paced, with just the right amount of intrique and suspense, add in the romance, and there’s no wonder why I was so captivated throughout the whole story. I like that this author keeps you guessing till the end. The characters Dima and Willa, are likeable, mature adults, and they have demanding careers. Their chemistry was undeniable. I liked the secondary characters too. It’s the perfect read to escape reality for awhile.
