PART-TIME PRINCESS: Royally Wed: Book #1 © 2014
–I waitress at a Chicago dive bar to pay for my uncle’s rent at Assisted Living. When an entitled drunk guy harasses my BFF, I pour a pitcher of margaritas on his head. Because no good deed goes unpunished — I’m fired. I scour want-ads until I find one that doesn’t make me want to hurl.“PERSONAL ASSISTANT WANTED: Twenties. Fab people skills. … WANTED: Twenties. Fab people skills. Celebrities don’t intimidate you. NDA required.”
Lady Lizzie Billingsley– who if you get drunk and squint could be my impeccably polished twin — is entering into a marriage of convenience with playboy Prince Cristoph of Fredonia.
Perhaps Lizzie needs to re-think her clandestine hook-ups with Cristoph’s brother – Prince Nicholas – he of the dark hair, pretty blue eyes, and muscles so ripped a girl could get lost in them.
I quickly discover Lizzie doesn’t really want a PA… she’s hiring me to travel back to Fredonia and impersonate her while she clears up a few loose ends in Chicago…
What could possibly go wrong?

I loved how this story evolved. The characters and locations were so real it was like being right there.
just loved it if you don’t read this you are losing out big time thank you for a wonderful read
Amusing with a few twists and a happy ending! Perfect easy reading
Story line was weak……I like a deeper story line.
When you life falls apart and you hit rock bottom with others depending on you to take care of them what will you be willing to do to make that happen? Lucy had to ask herself that question she finds she does have limits as she crosses off one ad after another until one catches her eye, she applies and is given the job. It sounds so easy but as we know things never come easy for Lucy it is no different. She is pulled into a world wind of royalty, lies and deceit which add tons of humor that will make you laugh out loud along with a few OH MY’s. One man chases her, another wants to marry her but neither know she is impersonating Lady Elizabeth. One wants her for what she brings to the table the other wants her because he is attracted to her. Only one can win the hand of the lovely Lady Elizabeth or maybe neither. First Lucy must get through this mess for a week or two until Elizabeth comes home. One week adds to another and then another until you have one big mess that leads to a wedding you don’t want to miss.
The narrator does a good job at narration, at times she does seem child like. When Lucy is in character I would have thought she would have had the airs and tones of Elizbeth but when she is talking she has her own voice which was a little confusing at first. She does have great character voices, once I got past Lucy keeping her voice I always knew who was talking and what they were feeling. Her male voices were as nice as her female ones. Her tones and emotions were pretty good it didn’t take you long to start laughing as Lucy got into one mess and then another. The narrator really bought this to light giving a good listen. There are no background noises, no repeating of words and if any breaks were taken I could not tell. She did have me hook as she portrayed Lucy and her mixed emotions of being Elizabeth trying to be more like her but slipping up and being herself. All in all she made the listen enjoyable and kept me smiling and laughing.
The author gives you a delightful tale of mixed feelings, uneasiness as one women takes on a nation trying to be their princess. She fools so many but at the same time they know something is different. It isn’t easy to lie to so many you have come to love. I thought the author really put some time and thought into this story giving a compelling listen that holds your attention and keeps you laughing and at times on edge. There are a few heart stopping moments as danger comes near. The twists and turns are a delight but at times I thought it was a little long. She does keep the story interesting and at times your heartbreaks why at other times your throat is in your mouth waiting to see the outcome. First one prince pulls her in and then another. I did enjoy the mystery of Nick the handsome hunk who is a big flirt. I loved the scenes on the plan and in the park. I will tell you this one you will fall deeply in love with one man who wants Elizbeth and not so much with the other one. I really enjoyed the many different characters they add so much to the story. It was well worth your time and is totally enjoyable. The ending is heartbreaking and then the author twists it around making you smile big and loving every bit of it.
It was a fun way to tell the story.. ladies I’m waiting are a hoot!!
Fun, lighthearted read. Very humorous. Not all that realistic, but enjoyable. Loved the down-to-earth royalty and mysteries woven throughout the story.
Cute story with laughter…..
So boring, moved to slow only only got to 3 chapers
Confusing and choppy…not much depth
Change category to YOUNG ADULT!! It was entertaining, I did finish. But it wasn’t the LOL as promoted. It was fairly predictable… Sadly I am passing on remainder of series.
Too quick, not enough charachter building. This is book 1, the rest of the.books follow this same couple rather than different characters theoughout the story.
Fun to read story.
What’s a girl to do when a man is being an asshat? She dumps a pitcher of beer over his head, of course. But when you are a waitress and do that to a customer, you are suddenly not a waitress anymore.
Lucy, the ex-waitress, needed money to keep her uncle in an assisted living center so she took a part-time job impersonating Lady Elizabeth Billingsley of Fedonia. Lady Elizabeth had to be away on urgent private business. Not wanting anybody to know, she hired Lucy to fill in for her. Lucy also had to keep Prince Cristoph interested in Elizabeth which was no easy task when the Prince was known as The Playboy Prince for good reason.
This job was only for 10 days, so, needing the money, Lucy agreed to do it. Besides, she got a free makeover and two of Elizabeth’s staff would be with Lucy to advise her at all times. But things didn’t go according to plan.
I enjoyed this romantic fairy tale. It was fun watching Lucy be transformed into a Lady. She had to learn to walk and act properly. I chuckled when she practiced her royal wave on people. Her Ladies-in-Waiting were great. They were strong, smart women who were a tremendous help to Lucy. As was Mr. Phillips. Even with all these people in her corner, things didn’t always go well for Lucy. Like when someone tried to kill her (Elizabeth). Then there were the two Princes. Lucy was falling for Nick but she was supposed to be interested in Cristoph – or Elizabeth was because she was promised to him at birth.
This is a funny story but it has a lot of troubling scenes, too. The terrific ending helped to make this a winner.
Can’t stop reading the series
I loved this first book, so much I bought the rest of the series which sadly went down hill and became predictable and boring to the point I skipped and read the ending just to get it over with and I never do that.
Fun read and laugh out loud moments.
Loved the story line. Plus love that she ended up happy and a princess!
Really enjoyed this book. I will be looking for more of this series
A great happily ever after. Who doesn’t want to be a princess?
