On a Wednesday afternoon, I ask Trevor Bentley to marry me. He might be the most arrogant, obnoxious man I know, but I need him to be my husband for a year. There are reasons. He’s not going to be a real husband. Just part-time. Yes, I have to live with him. And, okay, I also have to share his bed. And, sure, he’s the sexiest and most exciting thing to ever happen to my controlled, organized life. to my controlled, organized life.
But still… It’s only a part-time marriage. I’m not going to give him my heart. I know what I’m doing, and I’m too smart to fall for my husband.
I hope.

The two characters end up in a “fake” marriage to placate her grandfather and allow her to continue her role in the family business. During the marriage, the two of them learn much more about each other and, obviously, come to love each other. Very enjoyable.
It was a good read, but not enough character development.
Very fast, fun reading!!
I enjoyed this book. I liked the dynamics between the two main characters that started out as hating each other that gradually changed over to love. I thought some of the secondary characters could have been developed a bit more like her sisters and I also think her grandfather was bit too over the top without some more being known about him as to why which is why this is only 4 stars. The main characters were enjoyable and their interaction was great.
It was everything that I checked above. Enjoyed the Book very much.
I read most f books very entertaining
Good beach read !! Quick read & fun.
I did not like this book. The author spent a LOT of time with sex scenes and the “f—” word. Didn’t spend nearly enough time on the characters and their thoughts and feelings.
Wonderful story with witty dialogue.
Great interaction with characters. Humor was very good – found myself giggling several times throughout this book. Found myself unable to put this book down! Very enjoyable!
Best book I’ve read in quite a while.
The story was interesting even though the premise has been “done to death”. I found humor, romance and characters to love and some to hate. I loved the question he asked each night. I thought it was hilarious. There are quite a few sexual scenes. If you can’t handle that, this is not the book for you. If you’re interested, I think you’ll love it. The man has talent!
There is no one that does contracted marriage better than Noelle Adams!! I am a fan of this trope and this one fits in nicely! I loved that these two feel like normal people. Normal people navigating life with normal problems. Problems behind the scenes that no one knows about…
This arrangement started out on the way out there plane, but I could understand it! Pop is just so demanding of Melissa and doesn’t seem to be this hard on her sisters. Definitely a weird family. Why would you set yourself up for constant ridicule at the hands of this man, not only at a weekly family dinner, but working for him on a DAILY basis!! I don’t know if I could have done that! Melissa had gumption that’s for sure!
When Pop made the demands of Melissa to be married and dangles losing her coveted job, and she made up someone she is dating. Pop wanted to meet him. In order to play her cards right, keep her job, and get back at Pop, she asks Trevor Bentley to marry her. It’s only part-time and only for a year. Everyone wins in the end, right?
Only as the year goes, she finds Trevor is much more than she ever knew. I absolutely loved him. Yes he was brash and very cocky in the beginning, but he softened. He was a good man and Melissa realized she never wanted to give him up!
The story was intriguing-albeit a bit odd at times. I enjoyed their dynamic and how it morphed as the year progressed. I was rooting for them to figure things out! The HEA was very believable given how they evolved into a couple. An overall great read!
One of my favorite authors!
I loved every page and couldn’t put it down. It was funny, sad, romantic. Would recommend to all readers.
“If you marry him, you can keep your job.”
Trouble is, Melissa has gone out of her way to find someone Pop definitely won’t approve of!
Part Time Husband is everything that I love about the books written by Noelle Adams. This is what I would call one of her sweeter story lines, with enough steam to make it spicy, and it is an easy and relaxing read. There’s enough grit and angst in the world as it is, and when I want a romance that doesn’t always go as planned, along with a guaranteed HEA, then this one absolutely filled the spot.
That’s not to say that she hasn’t written angsty or gritty, she has, and a couple have haunted me now for several years. This one though was a great read in the enemies to lovers genre, where Melissa must bow to her Grandfather’s misogynistic demands she marry, or lose her managerial place in the family company called Pop’s. She’ll marry, because she’s worked to hard not to, but the man she has in mind is going to absolutely get stuck in Pop’s craw, because he absolutely ‘HATES’ Trevor Bentley.
Trevor has worked his way up from more humble beginnings than most people know. Yes, he comes across as arrogant and over-confident, but he has a heart of gold. One that he keeps to himself. Having experienced an acute attraction to Melissa when he first applied for a job with Pop’s company, five years ago, he only managed to make the older man hate him with an intensity bordering on psychotic!
He’ll now do Melissa a favour in return for a lucrative marketing contract with Pop’s. It’s one that he actually deserves, he’s that good at his job. The marriage contract, however, is one that will lock them in for a year, and will give each of them more than they expect.
Well written and highly entertaining, Part Time Husband is something I recommend to those who want an easy to read and steamy romance. I loved it. Regular readers of Ms Adams will love it as well, AND look forward to the next one in this series. 4.5 Stars.
I enjoy a good fake marriage storyline but this was made even better by the fact the woman approached the man!
Melissa is a very strong woman who has been through a lot in her life and she’s about to lose her job because of her grandfather. He sets the stipulation that she must be married, for at least a year, before she can truly have her job. So Melissa goes for the one guy that her grandfather truly despises…Trevor.
Trevor is an amazing man, even if Melissa finds him to be a bit obnoxious. He’s an excellent businessman, wonderful with his family and he takes Melissa head on when she proposes marriage. But shortly into their marriage, you can sense a change in both Trevor and Melissa.
Trevor pushes Melissa to let her guard down and look at things in a different light, while Melissa got Trevor to open up a bit. Both of these things are what made this book so enjoyable. I love the banter between the two and their attraction to each other is excellent. When they end up having a huge misunderstanding, I love how Trevor put himself totally out there to Melissa.
Part Time Husband was truly a sweet and fun read!
In this book you meet Melissa, she is a hard worker and smart. Her work comes first before anything else. Her Grandpa is a stubborn man that likes to try and dictate what Melissa does. See how I said TRY, lol. She has done so much for Pops company and has improved it in so many ways. One day Pops up and decides to give her an ultimatum, lose your position in the the company and get less hours or get married. He believes women should be married and have families. He agrees that it can be to any man but has to be a legit marriage. Live in the same home, sleep in the same bed and stay married for a yr. She decides to go 1 step further and marry the 1 man her Pops can’t stand…Trevor Bentley. He is the perfect. The only other problem is they don’t like each other either. She has to promise him some advertising spot with the company. So when he agrees to it she knows there’s no turning back. This arrangement was the best idea. You could tell from the beginning that both liked each other. It was just a backwards type deal. You got to read about them falling in love and having some hills to conquer. I couldn’t help but fall in love with these characters. I laughed and cried and wanted to punch Trevor in the throat. Lol I would recommend this to all my book loving friends. – By Mandi
Fun and sweet!
I am still smiling like crazy, swooning dreamily, while reading about this sweet adorable arrogant guy. I was really intrigued by the title, I mean, how can you be a part-time husband? But you’re gonna have to admire Melissa’s logic. Melissa and Trevor’s story is so juicy and so fun, I didn’t realize that I’m already at the end of the book. I’ve been reading without stop.
Trophy Husbands Book 1
This is the first book by Noelle that I have read and I am glad I did!
This story of Melissa and Trevor is just lovely and heartfelt!
Melissa is fighting so hard for her place in the world, but the “good old boy” network keeps her down and her grandfather is the leader of the group.
Trevor is from humble beginnings and has become a self-made man. Sure he comes across arrogant and obnoxious, but underneath…whew, read the story.
The part of the story that really resonates with me is the fear and insecurity of the both of them, they think they hide it so well from each other, but they don’t. Not deep down where it counts, with touches and looks and just being held. What Melissa’s sister, Sam, tells her about forgiveness, trust and her theory of “perfect love”, well that was my absolute favorite part of the story! It’s like Noelle discovered the meaning of life and explained it in a way that anyone could understand! (Even me!)
This is a fast paced, story, a real page turner. I was sad that it ended! I loved the epilogue and the tease of possibly the next book in the series! I cannot wait to read more!
