My school has a dark secret… …but the one in my past might be darker. When the cheerleaders mentioned an initiation, I thought they were joking. Hours later, I’ve somehow left two football players unconscious and I’m escaping my first Varsity party with the scariest guy in school. In one night, I went from popular to pariah. From knowing who I was to confusion about my past. Nothing feels … pariah.
From knowing who I was to confusion about my past.
Nothing feels safe anymore, except these students who call themselves The Select. Right now, they are the only people I can trust– even if they aren’t telling me everything about The Select or its elite academy.
The further down the rabbit hole I go, the more sure I am that I won’t be coming back.
Who can I trust if even my own memories aren’t telling the truth?

Pariah (The Magic Unveiling Book 1) by Sullivan Gray is such an amazing story that I have read. This is book number one in this amazing start to a brand new series that I have loved reading and can not wait to read the rest of this amazing series. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about urban fantasy and paranormal romances.
I read a complimentary Advanced Reader Copy of this book & am voluntarily leaving an honest and unbiased review.
I’ve received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review
The book is definitely very powerful due to the events that are happening. There’s an attempt of rape, not very graphic but enough details to give you shivers down your spine and make you understand the trauma behind it, even if the action wasn’t finished. Only the attempt is enough to shook you to your core.
The book enraged me, mostly because these things are events happening all around us, the bullying, the rape, the fact that someone can become a pariah when she doesn’t fit into the pattern, the race, and the hate. Things all around us and most of the time as in the book there’s very few people who trust you and tries to help you, or even tries to understand you, the rest are people who won’t understand, or they’ll pretend is alright.
Taya is the type of girl that the events in her life are either breaking her or making her, and she’s the one who doesn’t let the events around her break her. She’s courageous, strong, and fearless, even tho due to trauma she has moments where she freezes and needs to pick herself back up.
It’s an amazing story, with a lot of realism into it and amazing scenario that keeps you on your toes wanting for more, the story doesn’t let time for interpretation of what’s going to happen next, its this intense that I’ve devoured it quickly more than I’ve expected. This book contains impactful events, such as rape attempts and bullying. The rape attempt isn’t finished or very descriptive but it’s enough detailed to make you feel what she felt.
Even tho the events are of a more different nature than what I’ve expected, it didn’t discourage me to read it, on the contrary, I loved it. It’s an amazing story, but it can be triggering.

This YA urban fantasy / paranormal romance is just awesome! With a great storyline it’s full of Darkness, mystery, intrigue, magic and drama and is quite intense but oh so so addictive, And I am anxious to read the next book.
This is a huge emotional ride. Triggers may include attempted sexual assault, hazing, bullying, and claustrophobia (hey, it’s a big deal for some of us ). That being said, I appreciate how all these situations are portrayed. I love when emotional situations are written so well that you feel the anxiety with the characters. This was not what I was expecting as far as a prequel to the Supernatural Reform School series. But I love it all the same.
This novel really hits home. There are news stories about schoolyard bullying but people like me generally think of big kids shaking down little kids for pocket change. The kind of bullying that Taya undergoes is not something that usually crosses my radar, and yet it should. The storyline and the characters are so realistic, so raw that I feel the need to jump in. This novel has a message that everyone needs to receive, not just the young adults.
I received an ARC from the author and I am voluntarily leaving a message.
I received an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review so here it is.
This book is a little on the darker side and leaves you with more than enough unanswered questions that you will just have to get the next book as soon as it’s available!
Taya is left feeling vulnerable and lonely after a disastrous evening at a party, returning to school to find that she’s got no friends and no-one to talk to except the teachers.
She finds herself in the middle of an odd group of ‘Not friends’ that shes curious to find out more about and maybe even become part of the odd bunch herself.
Who are these people really? Read the book to find out more!
It’s a great read and a great start to what promises to be a great series!
ONE ELECTRIFYING ADVENTURE!!!
Holy crap! Sullivan nails this baby 100% on point realism with amazing scenario’s that blast dead center with such intensity that unfolds this bad boy spectacularly. Unnerving events with staggering impacts that blows this baby wide open. A heart stopping tale that hooks you from the start and reels you in for the duration. The drama, uncertainty, intrigue and suspense make for one exciting experience. Twists and turns abound with startling revelations that thrusts this bad boy to life beautifully. A swirling eddy of stunning mishaps and vexing circumstances that blasts those stormy, twirling emotions bursting to life. Drawing you in so deep until nothing else exists. The characters are authentic and relatable with on point personalities that bend and flow. The scenes are vividly descriptive in the realistic true to life form. Fantastic job Sullivan, thanks for sharing this awesome gem with us.
A wild and crazy rollercoaster of emotions!!!
OMG this book blew me away!!!… It’s so intense, you can actually feel all of Taya’s emotions as your own… It will hook you up since chapter one, even tough is really dark, you need to know everything is going to be fine, so you keep reading … Amazing story line and wonderful characters, their new friends are the best!!! … Can’t wait to know what will happen, what really is behind her memory lost, OMG, I need the next book NOW!!!
This book just blew me away. Taya is a typical high school girl who just wants to maybe have friends, get to know her crush and then on night everything changes forever. Who can she trust, who are her friends and what do people really hide behind the faces they present to the world?
I really want to know more about all of the secrets that are floating around, not only in her school but also in her own home.
When you start reading this book, you will not be able to put it down
