If Jack Reacher was a paranormal investigator… werewolves. Sometimes though, I secretly worry that I might be wrong.
People call on me to solve cases too weird for the police to take on. Take today for instance; a third victim was found with a bite mark in her lifeless throat. It’s happening in my town and I take that sort of thing personally.
I’ll take the case on without having a client, but one soon arrives in the form of Amanda Harper, a disillusioned police officer who wants the killing stopped just as much as me. Together, and with back up from a cast of friends, we are going after whatever is behind the deaths, but my probing draws its attention and now my family are the hunted.
But when someone I know is taken, a race against time begins which will pitch me into a battle for my life. Good thing I have some skills then.
If you are a fan of fast-paced paranormal thrillers, then this urban fantasy series is sure to please.

The first thing Americans need to know is that this book is set in England and there’s a lot of English slang. We do not speak the same English. That being said, expect the ground to be called the floor and to figure out all kinds of amusing dialogue! This is the first of the Blue Moon Investigations series. Tempest finally decided to open a private investigation agency and wrote an ad for the local paper. The paper misprinted it as a paranormal investigation agency and Tempest is not happy. However he soon finds himself investigating paranormal things that he doesn’t believe in. He makes pretty decent money solving cases from his clients when he proves things are not paranormal after all and finds out who the real culprits are. This mystery is both funny and thrilling. You just never know what Tempest and his friends are going to get into next. I totally enjoyed this book and it’s every bit as good as the others in the series. I highly recommend it!
This is a Comic Cozy Mystery Thriller about and Ex-Army man, Tempest (Danger) Michaels that start his own detective agency “Blue Moon Investigation”. There is a typo in the phone listing and he starts getting unusual cases people thing are paranormal but Tempest doesn’t believe in the paranormal and starts proving they are normal with the help of his friends and the company ot Dozer & Bull, his 2 dachshunds.
It’s all nonsense, right?
A reluctant paranormal investigator is hired to catch a vampire and a poltergeist. The problem is that he doesn’t actually believe in any of that paranormal stuff. But can be prove it’s not real?
There’s plenty of action, and more than a little humor here. Combined, that made listening to this book a whole lot of fun.
I received a free copy of this audio book in exchange for my honest opinion.
Love paranormal books usually, but this one proving paranormal doesn’t exist was very enjoyable. I love the fact mum tries to play cupid and how the dogs seem to find trouble. I am anxious to read the 2nd book in this series and looking forward to trying other series by Steve HIggs.
Paranormal Nonsense by Steve Highs is about a guy that wants to start a Private Investigation business but the advertising agent typed Paranormal Investigation instead. He found he was getting a lot of work debunking the paranormal claims and solving the mysteries. In this one he deals with a Bigfoot, poltergeist, and vampire cult. He also has two little dachshunds!
It’s a clever and enjoyable book! .
This story was OK. It took a while to get into it, I almost gave it up a time or two, but stuck with it and ended up getting interested enough to finish it. I’ve seen reviews that complain about the editing, but I think that’s just a British way of writing though I did find a couple of errors. It wasn’t as funny as I was lead to believe from the synopsis. I liked the way the male MC cared about his dogs, (but I’m a dog lover) so that was fun to read. Kind of an odd cliff hanger at the end which irritated me enough that I almost dropped this to two stars. Overall, an OK read and a rather unique twist to the paranormal genre.
Totally different. Investigates to disprove paranormal. Love the character who is trying to find his place after getting out of military. Love the humor. Just enough to be funny without being ridiculous.
I laughed out loud. The characters are engaging and the plot rolling from one page to the next. This book will had me smiling from the first page to the last.
This series is just crazy enough to make sense!
This was a smashing yarn. It had adorable dogs, plenty of laughs, thrilling action, and excellent mysteries. Also it featured insights into a certain sidekick known as Mr. Wriggly.
It needed serious attention from a Line Editor however. Even so I could not deduct any stars.
Looking forward to reading the next book. I enjoyed the writing style, very different from what I’ve been reading.
