He remembers her too…As a small child, Quinn Stewart dreamed about a man named Nick, a man she insisted was her husband. Solving the mystery of those shared dreams may be the key to saving Quinn’s life, except working together means fighting a growing attraction to each other – an attraction that may be the very reason her life keeps coming to an end.

Wonderful! 5
Elizabeth O’Roark writes with such a natural and expert flair of imagination, intrigue and captivating characters, making the unbelievable believable! The pace, story and character development and flow is exceptional . Their experiences are truly unique and enthralling. This story challenges my reality, mystifies my mind and infiltrates my heart. I am never disappointed!
Talk about being blown away! And this is only the beginning!
I absolutely love this story and feel as though I’m going to mark down this Duet as one of my all time favorites. I can’t wait to read Intersect because I want to make that feeling a reality!
I’ve loved Elizabeth O’Roark ever since she published Waking Olivia. I loved that so much that I wasn’t sure she could top that, but she really did with Parallel. I binge read this duet and loved every second of it.
What an absolutely extraordinary book.
Wow.
O’Roark just totally floored me. And I read a lot, so that’s tough to do.
Onto book 2 now. Please let there be a HEA.
What an incredible and interesting storyline! My new top favorite! I’ve always been fascinated by the idea that people whose paths are meant to cross will cross no matter what, even if the circumstances to make it happen are different. This would be the case for Quinn Stewart and Nick Reilly. In another time and place or life, multiple times over, they belonged together. But in this situation, they are not. And it’s an intriguing story trying to piece together the fabric of what’s real, but illogical, versus a scientific reason for why Quinn knows so much about Nick if they haven’t met before, or have they? They are fantastic characters, well developed in their personality, history, and magnetism towards the other while searching for answers for the unexplainable. I could not put this story down, there’s so much to it in terms of the depth, layers, timeline, parallel existences and shifts in reality by certain events or people. And it’s so well written to keep the story moving and flowing with a good pace of constant anticipation, while highlighting what Quinn and Nick’s personal struggles are as they try to make sense of what to do now. I felt it all between them – the attraction, concern, heartbreak, desperation, understanding and unconditional support. I absolutely adored Nick so much, where can I find one of him for myself? They have such a natural and easy chemistry together, which is also shrouded with angst due to their circumstances. Even with the skepticism and difficult decisions, they were so open and honest in communication. What happened to keep them apart vs what was supposed to happen and now that they have met, is there even a future for them? I definitely need to find out how this ends because I want so much for these two and my heart won’t accept anything else for them, but they have big obstacles to overcome and secrets to uncover. Highly recommend!
Parallel! It sucks you in! It keeps you turning the pages until the end!
The End! Ugh!
Thankfully the sequel is ready and waiting!
Intersect!!!
This story line is unlike any other I have ever read. The characters are beautifully developed and the plot is original and unpredictable. I also really liked that you get perspectives from both main characters. The story continues in the next book, so be prepared that it’s not resolved in this book. This was a GREAT first read from this author!
I don’t think my words can do justice to my feelings after finishing this book. It’s unique, spellbinding, intriguing and wonderful.
Quinn has dreams which feel real. As though she’s lived things that haven’t actually happened. She knows things she can’t possibly know.
The more frequent these dreams become, the more dissatisfied she becomes with her current life. And then, quite by accident, she meets the object of these dreams, Nick.
Despite having never met Quinn, he feels he knows her too. The attraction between them practically leaps from the page. The book follows Nick and Quinn’s journey to discover what is causing Quinn’s dreams and experiences.
This book is just fabulous in the way it makes you feel. I wanted to crawl inside the book and stay there. It really does give you all the feels. I can’t wait to read the conclusion to this duet, Intersect, to see where Nick and Quinn’s journey ends.
When I read the description of this book I was on the edge of my seat trying to figure out what was going on. Reincarnation is the first thing that came to mind and I will say I was pleased with the outcome. When it comes to Nick and Quinn I fell so hard for them. They had this couple and was engrossed in what they had, had, how ever you want to phrase it. There were ups and downs, forbidden love, and happiness all though out this story. I won’t say much more, even through I want to talk about soooo much. I can’t wait for the next book. It won’t come fast enough. This was my first book by this author and the way she weaves a story, I will be going and reading her back log too. 5 stars #2OCCJD
I am not sure I have the right words to do this story justice. Unparalleled is the best I have. Unparalleled in its ability to rivet the reader from the first word. Unparalleled in its character creation and development. Unparalleled in generating emotions that will stay with you long after you reach the last page. Just UNPARALLELED.
If you love PNR, read this book. If you don’t love PNR, read it anyway. It’s worth stepping outside of your reader comfort zone to dive into the love manifested in these pages. If you adore a love story that stands the test of time, read this book.
“What’s worse than the bad wind is the emptiness of letting nothing in at all.”
This story has elements of The Time Traveller’s Wife and an underlying sense of déjà vu. There are figures appearing and disappearing into thin air and cryptic words spoken long ago. But what does all this mean? Pair this with some devastating news and mixed feelings, Quinn, our leading lady, is overwhelmed with all the events taking place in her life.
It all begins with Quinn dreaming of a life with a handsome man. A man who is not her betrothed. She knows all these little things about him. So is he real or a beautiful dream? Nick has dreamed of a mystery woman who is not his girlfriend. A woman that makes him feel happy. Imagine his surprise when his path crosses with Quinn. The two of them find it hard to comprehend how they know each other without actually having met previously. I think Quinn is more realistic about where the romance could go whereas Nick is perhaps more hopeful that something could change. But both of them find it hard to stay away from each other. The two of them feel this connection that shows them just how magical life could be. If only they could unravel what is happening.
Be warned, there is a cliffhanger and we will need to wait to find out what happens to Quinn and Nick. Let’s hope they can figure out what is going on before it’s too late. If people enjoyed the movies Inception and Jumper, I think they would enjoy this story. It’s about love and fighting for a love that consumes you. It’s about allowing yourself to live life to the fullest rather than settle for something ordinary and potentially empty.
WOW!!! I’ve been look for some well written “Time Travel/Parallel Romances” ever since I finished The Surviving Time trilogy by Calia Read. I have to say I’m not a fan of slow burn romances, BUT I have to say there is ENOUGH in this story for me to continue to read it. ITS THAT GOOD! Gah, the suspense is killing me. This is a first read for me by Elizabeth and I’ll be sure to be back when the duet’s conclusion happens on June 27th!
What a spectacular story that pulled me in and kept me entangled in its web of intrigue and mystery. I just couldn’t stop turning the pages to find out what was happening.
Everything about this story was right. There’s mystery, the unknown, deceit, love, loss, soul mates, tragedy. It’s just a story you don’t want to put down until you get some answers.
There is a cliffhanger, but I can’t wait to get this second part of the story. A great PNR to be sure!
“My voice is hushed as I meet his eye. “I think…no matter what universe we land in, we land there together.”
Quinn has had strange dreams since childhood. Dreams of a life that she has not lived, places she has not met, situations she has not encountered, but most of all with a man she has never seen but who seems so familiar that she can not forget. This man is Nick, her husband, as bizarre as this information may seem.
Now grown up, Quinn is about to get married. Jeff is the safe choice her father wanted so badly for her. And after giving up college, taking care of her father and now looking after her mother, denying her father’s last request does not seem right. But when visiting the place where the wedding will take place, the view of a lake house will spark a chain reaction. Quinn faints and is taken to the hospital.
And her shock is complete by coming face to face with Nick, the man of her dreams. But if she is able to mention true facts and detail things she would not know, the fact that Nick also recognizes her is a matter of warning. What strange connection is there between these two? Is it just déjà vu or is something more serious and inexplicable happening?
It is impossible to speak more of the book and not give a spoiler about the plot. Blending fantasy, mystery and romance, the story of Quinn and Nick holds the attention and unraveling that great puzzle through the ages becomes the great issue of the reader.
Rose is hiding something and it’s impossible not to think she’s connected to the couple in any way. Jeff also seems suspicious, his lack of control in the end just shows that he is not the “good guy” as he tries to look. Not to mention the female figure that appears and is the great mystery of the narrative.
The book ends in a cliffhanger, with a revelation that changes a lot in the story and raise new questions. Will the couple be happy? I know I’m counting the days for the next book.

Parallel is described as “a second-chance romance unlike anything you have ever read.” That statement doesn’t even scratch the surface. This is my favorite book so far of 2019!!!!
From the very first page, my mind was completely engaged! Quinn has been having dreams about a man named Nick since she was a child. Her mother did everything she could to explain the strange occurrences away, so Quinn did what she could do forget about it and never mention it. Now, Quinn is engaged to Jeff, and she is only weeks away from saying, “I do.” Something about being at her wedding site brings on a sense of deja vu and a blackout, and it is only the beginning of a journey that will change the course of her life, especially when she realizes Nick isn’t an imaginary figure in her dreams, but he is very much a real person. This, my fellow readers, is where the plot thickens, and boy does it thicken!
Quinn isn’t the only one who has been having dreams. Nick is equally disturbed when he realizes Quinn is the woman in his dreams too. The two of them have such a deep connection, and it tugged at my heart, especially in the flashbacks of Quinn and Nick’s prior lives together. I felt like both of them were just sort of drifting through their lives, and they only woke up when they found each other. Nick could never commit to anyone, and Quinn gave up her dreams. Now, the future seems to be open for them. However, there are twists and turns throughout the book that will make it hard, if not impossible to get their HEA.
Elizabeth O’Roark’s writing is mesmerizing. She has this uncanny and amazing talent of pulling you heart and soul into the story! I was so sad when the book ended just as I felt like the story of Nick and Quinn was just beginning. It was incredible, and it is unlike anything I have ever read. I cannot wait for the conclusion which releases at the end of the month!!!!
I love discovering great indie authors and this lady right here is one of them. If you like steamy, slow burn romances with thoughtful plot, this book right here is worth the read.
I just finished reading the most fantastic book. It’s a romance that you have to go into blind and let it wow you and astound you and blow your mind. Just let me tell you that Quinn has always dreamed about a man named Nick but never met him. One day she collapses and is taken to a hospital and there he is. She knows all about him, has lived a life with him but has never met him until now. Likewise, Nick has been living an empty life until he meets Quinn and realizes he has always known her although they haven’t met.
There’s a bit about crossed-lovers, lots of family intervention, pressures from life. It’s all a fantastic and embroiled reality for Quinn and Nick but you know they are meant to be, you just don’t know how the heck they are going to get there.
During the book, Quinn is engaged to be married to Jeff, the guy who was with her during her father’s illness and after his death. It feels like she’s with him out of duty, gratitude and obedience to her mother’s wishes. A very clinging, manipulative and dependent mother! I hated Jeff, thought him self-centered and shallow. I felt bad for his failures but he should have done everyone a favor and gone back to the little town where he came from. He’s obviously only fit for a country life. I wanted to hit Quinn in the head for tolerating him and his clueless ideas about how they should live their life with no regard for her wishes and dreams.
Needless to say, I wanted Nick to get the woman. He’s brilliant, driven, intuitive and emphatic. He understood Quinn like no one else. He used to be a swimmer so he has a body that should be seen in Speedos all the time. He’s swoony and kind and so attentive. He was there in a way Jeff never was.
This book is riveting and fascinating and a mind meld. I haven’t read a book so mesmerizing in a long time and can only say that I loved it! I would give it six stars if I could. And of course it ends in a cliffy and I need the sequel soon!
Rating: 4.5 Stars
Quinn Stewart should be excited about the happiest moment in her life but something seems off. Nick Reilly is a man who has a lot going on in his life. Our author has created an interesting world for them.
It’s not really a time travel trope unless you think of it as speculative. Usually when I think of time travel, I think more historical. It’s not really paranormal in the sense that I think more out of this world. Science fiction? Can’t really say that either. I could see it as an episode on The Twilight Zone but even then I think this would be pretty tame to what you would normally see. But what I can say is that it is unique. It’s not like any story I’ve read before and that’s part of what makes this a page-turner. You want to see what her characters are going to say or do next.
If you’re like me and have not read any other work by this author than you’ll find that this is a great introduction. She creates characters that seem so realistic that you have to wonder if what they’re going through is possible – after all, remember Shirley Maclaine and her claims of previous lives. There are people who have had déjà vu moments but this is so much more. The author also creates secondary characters that will raise questions that readers will probably ask and they’re nice enough to try and get the answers. What I loved as I got to the end is she created something that stunned me but had me looking forward to when intersect comes out.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
