Oh wow! This is such an emotional, raw, rollercoaster romance that will take you through the paces. Keep tissues handy!! You will feel the pain, heartbreak, suffering,
angst, struggles, ….just everything the main characters were going through.
We meet Shane who is working 3 jobs to take care of his mom who 5 years ago was left in a coma after a road accident has the best possible care available since his dad walked out on his mom and also him literally right after the accident. Shane is a good guy but quite grumpy, short tempered and running on little sleep. He is very handsome but just cares about his mother’s care. But he is walking the razor’s edge for he is about to break for he is doing everything himself.
Enter Janelle- she moves next door next to Shane. She is young, intelligent, beautiful and sassy. She is excited to move into her new home. But her thrill of moving into her new home is tempered by her nasty next door neighbor Shane. Ego meets Sassy. But without giving any spoilers away, this is one story you must read !! It is fantastic and delicious and so emotionally charged. Ms. Harms writes a beautiful story about two people who change each other’s lives in the best way. I can’t wait to read the other Pearson sisters’ stories.
My Rating: 4.5 stars *******
This is a fantastic start to this new series from CA Harms. She has delivered another story that was raw, gritty and intense, mixed with humour and steam. She will take you on quite the emotional rollarcoaster.
In this book we are given two strong characters in Shane and Janelle. Shane made me swoon, this man is working hard with 3 jobs to ensure his mum has the best care possible. When his sleep is disturbed by his excited new neighbour their first meeting doesn’t exactly go well. Sparks are flying but not in a good way……. not at first anyway
Shane is such a beautifully tormented soul, he has such a weight on his shoulders he is barely functioning and certainly not living that is until the girl next door wakes him up and makes him want more. He just needs to find a way to open up.
I am excited to see what happens with the Pearson Sisters
Paradox is a new fave! It’s been awhile since I’ve found a book that made me FEEL the story so to say that I found that in Paradox makes me extremely happy! Shane starts off making a really bad impression on his new neighbor but as the story progresses, it’s easy to see that he’s a great guy at heart. He and Janelle make a great couple and I really enjoyed their story. Another win for C. Harms!
This was another solid offering from this author! Shane has the weight of the world on his shoulders and doesn’t have time for love. Janelle moves in next door and they don’t exactly hit it off. I loved this story so much! Shane, I just wanted to hug him. The two of them together are everything. Can’t wait to read the rest of the series!
Thank you for the privilege of reading this book! Well done
Janelle is excited to start anew and has just moved in to her apartment. Shane is working to support his mother and doesn’t like being awakened by his new noisy neighbor. Janelle thinks he’s cocky and a bully. She begins to see that there is more to Shane than she thought at first. This is a good story and has heartbreaking moments for both characters.
CA Harms does what she does best and that is to draw you into a story in such a way that it is like you are right there with the characters. You feel the hurt, the pain, the suffering and the struggles as if they were your own. Shane is teetering on the edge and ready to fall and shatter into pieces as life is nearly bringing this young man to his knees. Janelle a blonde haired, blue eyed beauty that is the light to his darkness may be just what the doctor ordered. As these two try to walk the path to a happiness that they both crave, ego and an ability to push people away may be a bigger fence to jump then either of them could have considered. Shane and Janelle’s story had my anxiety levels high, my heart in my throat and the tears falling at times uncontrollably. The passion, heat and sensuality that these two emit through written words will have your pulse racing. This first book in the Pearson Sisters series will have you falling in love and laughing hilariously at these three sisters as they bring a huge smile to your face at the banter and antics that they get up to.
I received a review copy before release for an honest review.
This is book 1 in a brand new series by the author and it was pretty great. The Pearson sisters are so much fun.
The first book is about middle sister Janelle and her new neighbor, Shane who is kinda a jerk (and that’s me being kind).
Shane is a meanie and a grumpy gus because of the life he is forced to lead. He works two jobs to be able to take care of someone he loves, his mother. He is a self admitted mommas boy and his mom really needs him.
Enter his new neighbor Janelle and her sisters Jackie (the oldest) and single mom who is in the process of a divorce and the youngest sister Janie (who is kinda a sex fiend who is very inappropriate) and who provides lots of humor to the story. These women change Shane’s life and show him that he does not have to be alone and grumpy. They are very happy people and they shine their happiness on Shane.
This is a wonderfully told story and very sweet and romantic. Shane at times is a jerk but underneath it all he is the paradox but he is also very sweet and kind and romantic. I loved how he is totally into Janelle and he never has a hesitation on knowing who and what he wants. Its more that he feels she deserves better than him.
I cannot wait for more in this series. The book ends with a happy for now end and so I feel like there is more to the story which hopefully we will see in the next sisters book
Janelle is loving life. Moving into her new house, spending time with her sisters and parents, starting her new job at her aunt’s salon. What more could she ask for? Now if she could just shake the cranky but oh so sexy neighbor. Shane has a lot on his plate. Working two jobs to take care of his responsibilities, he just wants to sleep. Too bad the crazy new neighbor is so loud. Can these two get past their annoyance for each other?
What a fun book! Full of passion, love, humor, kindness, understanding, heartbreak, and healing. Janelle and Shane’s journey will steal your heart quickly. I loved every single word of this amazing story! I was hooked from the start! An absolute MUST READ!!!
This book was such a beautiful emotional story. With most stories I feel the emotions from the heroine, but in the case of Paradox it came from the hero.
Shane had a great life, he was happy, living the dream but in the blink of an eye it changed forever. He had a new life. He worked multiple jobs, was constantly stressed and every little thing irritated him. He just wanted to make sure his mother was well taken care of. Janelle is starting a new life for herself in her own place. She had a job, her sisters, her niece and her dog. She was happy. Until she met her angry neighbor.
Shane and Janelle did not start off on the right foot, a few times. However, despite the attitude there was still chemistry between them. There was attraction. They both tried to deny it, but you can only do that for so long. The more Janelle got to know Shane the more she was confused. She didn’t know a lot of his past or history, but once she does things really started to shift for them. He was a man of many layers, you just have to take the time to peel them all back and find the heart of gold that his hidden beneath.
I loved this book. It was beautiful and emotional. It is hard not to fall for Shane and want nothing but the best for him. I can’t wait for more of the Pearson sisters because they are hilarious.
I absolutely love C.A Harms. Her books are amazing and this one proves that. I am absolutely loving the Pearson sisters. Feisty, loud mouths, tell it like it is. Don’t take nothing from no one. Will stand up for themselves when needed and are there for one another. This one is about Janelle. She is the middle of the three sisters. She recently moved into a new house and her neighbor Shane is quite the neighbor. These two don’t hit it off. He is quite the jerk right from the beginning. I have to say I understand where he is coming from. Things between these two are tense for a while. Then something happens and he goes to her for comfort. That is when things change. But will it last? Shane is dealing with a lot but keeps that side of his life from Janelle until the day she ends up at his mother’s home for a makeover day. That is when things really change between them but again will it last? I absolutely love these two together. The push and pull right from the start. You can easily see these two have some strong chemistry but Shane has such a hard time with everything going on in his life. But will he left go of some of it to have that something special? One of my favorite parts of this book was when Shane interacted with Janelle’s niece that was a very sweet moment. Overall a very well written wonderful storyline. I cant wait to get the other two sister’s stories.
Janelle and Shane do not have a great first impression when she moves in next door. Shane works three jobs so when he gets woken in the middle of his slumber by his new neighbor, they both get taken by surprise. Their encounters turn into four play for them because when Shane finally asks Janelle on a date their relationship moves full speed ahead. Shane is all about trying to have fun, but the relationship part is difficult for him to be open. His life has revolved around taking care of his mom and when Janelle enters the picture it gets complicated. Janelle is living her best life when Shane enters the picture and knocks her off her feet. Their adventure has its ups and downs but Janelle fights to keep what they have going. Shane has only had to fight for one woman and being with Janelle is new territory for him. When his father comes back into the picture all his old hurts surface. Can he get past the hurt of the past to see his way to a future?
I must say that I didn’t love this story, but I liked it to a degree. The main characters were great, and the storyline fit their personalities perfectly. Some of the drama was over exaggerated and I didn’t quite like the ending of the book. It did not end with closure, it ended with both characters finding happiness but some of my questions were left unanswered. I like the family feel of the story and working hard to find love within the hard times.
*I read an ARC and this is my honest review*
This is the 1st book in a new series from this gifted author, and what an amazing introduction this is!! Janelle is excited to move into her new house but does not get off to the best of starts with her new neighbor. Shane is working 3 jobs in order to support his mom, and does not appreciate when his sleep gets interrupted by his noisy neighbor. No spoilers; this is a definite must read, you will not be disappointed! This is a beautifully written story which is heartbreaking, raw, gritty, intense, humorous, and with secrets which all lead to an emotional roller coaster journey throughout. I cannot wait to read more in this awesome series, and highly recommend for all readers.
I Loved this! The story is sexy and romantic and witty. Time just flew by as I read. I seriously couldn’t put it down. The characters are great and likeable, which sometimes isn’t the case. The story is not long but what there is, is fantastic. I recommend picking this up.
A beautiful story of a man with a tortured soul. Shane’s life was happy, wonderful and complete until that one moment when everything he knew and counted on was taken from him. Thrust into a new life, a whole new world where he is the caregiver, the responsible one, the provider, he struggles. He works himself to the bone, constantly tired, stressed and angry. He’s so very angry. He easily snaps at the smallest of things and one of these snaps is what brings her into his life.
Janelle is a gorgeous and loving woman who is part of a trio of beautiful sisters. The three of them have each other’s back always and it’s no different when she accidentally angers her new neighbor next door. He’s gorgeous and lost. She can see the tortured look in his eyes and feels the sting of the barbs he tosses her way.
What started as a blood boiling relationship, surges into more. The attraction lies deep just beneath the surface, the intensity of the connection is almost too much. And then it crumbles. He’s been alone for so long he doesn’t know how to let someone in and she won’t be used. He’s the epitome of a paradox, a contradiction she has come to love and can only hope he feels the same.
Another fantastic story by CA Harms. Her books are known to bring us enjoyment, to allow us to feel the fall over and over again, to shake us up and then to bring us back to completion. Paradox is just the beginning to another intriguing series that will suck you in.
it was amazing
10 stars
where to start? The Pearson sisters are all awesome each in their own way. In this book we meet Janelle, she’s the middle. And when I say she is a happy mix of both her sisters it would not be a lie. I loved her sass, I laughed a lot with her. And when she was upset or pissed, I was there with her too
Now Shane, as sexy as he is he can come off being a jerk. It’s nothing that Janelle can’t handle. I will also say Shane was very easy to fall for. He claim’s he doesn’t woo, he’s only very honesty. But he did woo and I loved it
This was the first book from this author that I have read and I really liked it. Shane and Janelle were so good together. Shane had a lot on his mind with his mom being sick and his dad leaving when the times got bad. When he first meets his neighbor they get off on the wrong foot. It takes some time but they start to see each other in a different light and a relationship starts to blossom. One big issue will try to tear them apart but they are able to work through that and get the HEA that they both deserve. I can’t wait to read more from this author.

This book was a first for me from this author. I did enjoy it and will gladly read more from her. Shane feels responsible for his mother’s care. He is all he has left in the world. Working three jobs just trying to survive, he doesn’t have time for relationships. Janelle moves in to her new house and her new neighbor doesn’t make a very good impression right off the bat. These two together, oh man. They had so much chemistry but also had so many ups and downs. Janelle just seems sweet until you push her to far. I loved her two sisters and cute little niece. I am hoping that the sisters get their own book so they can have their happily ever after as well. Slate needs his own book as well! Really good book!

Shane has the weight of the world on his shoulders and I honestly don’t know how he is able to put one foot in front of the other each day. You truly never know what someone has going on in their lives that you don’t know about. Janelle has the biggest, most caring heart. Their first meeting doesn’t go well, nor does the second or third… But slowly things shift and they no longer fight the attraction. Janelle’s two sisters are a total hoot! I love them! They had me laughing out loud while the rest had my needing tissues. I am hoping that we get the two other sisters’ stories!

This is the first time I have read C.A. Harms and I will be looking to read more for sure. What a great, interesting, emotional story. Shane and Janelle are so very different and the development of their relationship will keep you invested in this story. Shane had to grow up fast and because the responsible, caregiver. Everything he does is to ensure his mother gets the care she deserves. When he is home all he wants is peace and quiet. He has a new neighbor, Janelle and she isn’t always as quiet as he prefers. The first few meetings are not pleasant. Janelle has a great new job and is happy with her life. She is very close to her sisters. Janelle and her sisters are quite hilarious
This is my first read by C. A Harms and what an enjoyable story. Paradox is the first book in the new Pearson Sisters Series and is Janelle and Shane’s story. These two got off to a very rocky start when they first met, but their undeniable sizzling chemistry was hard to ignore. Humor, drama, angst, romance, and wonderful characters made this a great read. Shane’s unwavering loyalty and love to his Mom as he worked so hard to take care of her just makes him swoon worthy and makes you want him to get his HEA. Looking forward to the next book!
