JUST BECAUSE HER HUSBAND’S NAKED, DEAD, AND IN A HOTEL BED…
…it might not be what it seems. But there’s that scarf in his mouth. Of course it is.
Given the situation, Kiki Lowenstein can’t help remembering that her (late) husband got her pregnant while cheating on his girlfriend.
>>>True, he did the right thing at the time, and their much-loved daughter Anya is now eleven years … daughter Anya is now eleven years old. But suddenly he’s dead, and Kiki’s financially embarrassed—that jerk disinherited his own family!
>>>Time for the timid to toughen up. Passive Kiki transforms herself into a fighter, walking right out of her luxurious life and into a scrapbooking store, where she deftly turns a hobby into a moneymaker. Her new gig goes slightly awry when her late husband’s not-so-ex-girlfriend insults her in public, but that’s just the beginning. The hurts keep piling up. How much can one woman stand?
>>>As her husband’s secret life explodes before her eyes, Kiki discovers that their daughter has a shocking secret of her own. Then the cops come for Kiki. And Family Services comes for Anya. No more Mrs. Nice Guy. Kiki has to fight for all she holds dear, and her quest must start with tracking down her late husband’s killer. Hope arrives for Kiki in the twin forms of a hot, homicide detective and her own newfound ability to cope.

Haven’t done much scrapbooking but this reawakened my interest. Also want to know what happens in the characters lives.
Being a scrapbooker I could relate to all the scrapbooking sections. I liked the characters. Enjoyable read.
Once I started it, I didn’t want it down. Fresh setting, vivid realistic characters
Fun mystery with like able, well developed characters. Would read more by this author.
Good beach read. Simple storyline but needed to be edited for mistakes.
I enjoyed it
I really liked this and am now on book 4 of the series. The set up reminds me of the Diane Mott Davidson Goldie the caterer series. An imperfect heroine who is striving to make a good life for child but has a talent for sleuthing and scrapbooking, loyal interesting friends, and a complicated love interest in a police detective. Though I had the first book solved right away I still went on to read more of the books because I wanted to spend more time with the characters.
Very good book, good characters and no ugly language!
Loved it!
overall enjoyed the book – there were a few missteps in the writing – providing a detail on one page only to say the opposite on another. But a fun read anyway.
Not bad for a cozy mystery. Sometimes the plots on those type of books seem a little silly to me, but this one kept my attention
Because I am a scrap booker I found this book especially appealing. I was impressed that her art was a big part of her life and the story’s plot. I also appreciated all the scrapping tips.
Enjoyed the read.
The heroine is a unique individual struggling with the aftermath of her husband’s death. She has caring friends who help her stand up for herself and her daughter. She is likable and I really enjoyed this story.
Read all 13 books can’ wait for next one
Mystery that is fun to read, has interesting characters and keeps you turning the pages.
This was an original plot with a likeable main character who had to come to terms with unfortunate events but with a forgiving spirit.
I’m not sure what to make of a book that has a mistake in it – the dog was in two different places at the same time. Aren’t books edited and proofed? The story was fine, characters fine, was an okay way to spend some time, but I don’t expect to find such blatant errors.
enjoyable
Keep it up Kiki with the witty dralog and crazy plots.
