JUST BECAUSE HER HUSBAND’S NAKED, DEAD, AND IN A HOTEL BED…
…it might not be what it seems. But there’s that scarf in his mouth. Of course it is.
Given the situation, Kiki Lowenstein can’t help remembering that her (late) husband got her pregnant while cheating on his girlfriend.
>>>True, he did the right thing at the time, and their much-loved daughter Anya is now eleven years … daughter Anya is now eleven years old. But suddenly he’s dead, and Kiki’s financially embarrassed—that jerk disinherited his own family!
>>>Time for the timid to toughen up. Passive Kiki transforms herself into a fighter, walking right out of her luxurious life and into a scrapbooking store, where she deftly turns a hobby into a moneymaker. Her new gig goes slightly awry when her late husband’s not-so-ex-girlfriend insults her in public, but that’s just the beginning. The hurts keep piling up. How much can one woman stand?
>>>As her husband’s secret life explodes before her eyes, Kiki discovers that their daughter has a shocking secret of her own. Then the cops come for Kiki. And Family Services comes for Anya. No more Mrs. Nice Guy. Kiki has to fight for all she holds dear, and her quest must start with tracking down her late husband’s killer. Hope arrives for Kiki in the twin forms of a hot, homicide detective and her own newfound ability to cope.

Even though I am not a scrapbooker, I learned a lot from this book. The mystery had twists and turns so you didn’t know who did it till the end.
Loved this book and the entire series! I already preordered the next in the series!
Enjoyed it so much I had to get the rest of the series
Just when you think you’ve got a character figured out, the author surprises you! I can’t imagine all these events happening in real life to a multi-talented heroine, but these days, anything’s possible! A really enjoyable read.
I have never read this author, but will definitely read more.
I enjoyed this book, and the characters, so much I bought the rest of the series.
If you can get past the main character’s doormat personality, the mystery is well played out.
I did enjoy the characters in the story and I enjoyed the various subplots as well.
I really liked it, a little slow to develop but it seems like the series gets better as it goes!
More of a scrapbooking how to. Main character rather clueless and doesn’t ask questions that would seem normal after death of a spouse just kind of stumbles along.
Page turner, good mystery
Enjoying the plot and characters. I haven’t finished yet
I thought it was a great book
Loved this clean read! Poor Kiki can’t catch a break after her husband’s murder. After losing her house and income, she found her true friends and a new job. With her friends and new friend, Detective Detweiler, she finally discovers the murder, only now he wants to kill her! Highly recommended.
I love this series. Very easy reading. The characters develop over time and I was rooting for them all the way
I liked the book! Plan on reading book two.
well researched on topic of scrapbooking, even finding clues in the habits and passions of said culture.
Fun, inspiring, and creative–a read as great as the scrapbooks it describes (and I am not a scrapper). Thanks for the action, the tension, and the laughs! Loved it.
Loved it!
