JUST BECAUSE HER HUSBAND’S NAKED, DEAD, AND IN A HOTEL BED…
…it might not be what it seems. But there’s that scarf in his mouth. Of course it is.
Given the situation, Kiki Lowenstein can’t help remembering that her (late) husband got her pregnant while cheating on his girlfriend.
>>>True, he did the right thing at the time, and their much-loved daughter Anya is now eleven years … daughter Anya is now eleven years old. But suddenly he’s dead, and Kiki’s financially embarrassed—that jerk disinherited his own family!
>>>Time for the timid to toughen up. Passive Kiki transforms herself into a fighter, walking right out of her luxurious life and into a scrapbooking store, where she deftly turns a hobby into a moneymaker. Her new gig goes slightly awry when her late husband’s not-so-ex-girlfriend insults her in public, but that’s just the beginning. The hurts keep piling up. How much can one woman stand?
>>>As her husband’s secret life explodes before her eyes, Kiki discovers that their daughter has a shocking secret of her own. Then the cops come for Kiki. And Family Services comes for Anya. No more Mrs. Nice Guy. Kiki has to fight for all she holds dear, and her quest must start with tracking down her late husband’s killer. Hope arrives for Kiki in the twin forms of a hot, homicide detective and her own newfound ability to cope.

Enjoyable reading.
Loved this first book of the series. The characters are well drawn and fit the story nicely. Well deserving of the Agatha!
Very enjoyable read with full likable characters
A real page turner with some unusual twists. I’ll be looking forward to the next one in the series.
The plot was entertaining, and there was a good wealth of information about scrap- booking that surprised and pleased me. The author has a deft hand with dialogue. Some of the characters were comic book villains, though, and certain plot mechanisms had me rolling my eyes as the heroine got into a simply ridiculous amount of trouble at every turn. I know an old writers’ saw is to get your main character into trouble and then throw rocks at them, but this got out of hand. Combined with her naive personality, it was just as easy to want to slap her silly as it was to like her. I’m hoping she matures in further books, as there were plenty of good reasons to keep reading.
I like the book really well and would like to read the others in the set.
good reading
Scrapbooking fans ,perfect book to read.
I love these books. I love the character(s) and the author is fantastic and twists and turns you don’t expect and keeping you reading so you can hardly put down the book. My only complaint – the mistakes. Typos are bad enough, but her books have continuity errors which I don’t even understand how they ended up in the book. The dog goes home with her at the same time the dog stays at her work and her bosses husband brings it home to her. It’s a shame because the author is great at writing. She just needs a better editing team.
Kiki is engaging and she hasn’t quite beaten me over the head with scrapbooking…yet.
Funny and engaging.
A fun read. It will keep you entertained.
Love this series. Have been reading them all.
A good “beach read”. Fast paced and just a touch of romance with the mystery. I guessed the culprit early on, but still worth finishing. Looking forward to the next book.
I’m really enjoying this series. The characters are likeable and interesting. Each book ends with a cliff hanger.
It was a scrapbook cozy. A fun easy read.
Love the whole series. Well written & engaging.
If you like scrapbooking this is a good book .The whole plot revolves around it. but it wasn’t that interesting to me. characters were just okay
