QUESTIONS ABOUT THE BOOK
Q: Is this really a YA?
We recommend this for young adult readers, age 17 and up. We think it’s a book that will appeal to older teens and those adults who are in touch with their inner teen, like us.
Q: Is there a cliffhanger? I’ve heard there’s an awful cliffhanger! Why’d you write a cliffhanger?
We promise that we didn’t set out to write a cliffhanger, but Paper Princess does end in one. The good news is that the next book is up for pre-sale and it will be released July 25, 2016.

A gritty, angsty read!
If she’s going to survive her time in the Royal palace, she’ll need to learn to issue her own Royal decrees…
The drama. I LOVED it. 100%. I miss books like this – I feel books similar to this book can be a hit or a miss but this is definitely a hit. Absolutely stunningly perfect and so flippin’ good. Read this book in one sitting! It has been awhile since a book has captivated me this much and ensured my attention never wavered from it.
I have been 100% ruined by these Royals. Chemistry that is off the charts. Drama. And so much more…
Highly recommend this series!
Full of drama, scandal, betrayal, family, angst, passion, secrets and intrigue.
Perfect for readers of contemporary romances.
4,5 stars
This is one of those books that I have heard a lot about and it’s also one of the many books waiting on my TBR pile to be read. I’m very, very glad that I started to read this book on a Friday night because once I started reading it, I just couldn’t stop. Another good thing about starting a series late Is that when the story ends with a cliffhanger (like this one!!!!!) you don’t have to wait to read the second book. You can just read the next book right away. And I was very happy about that because I REALLY wanted to know how the story continued.
Ella Harper may be only 17 years old but in those years she has seen a lot, felt a lot and experienced a lot. One of those things is the dead of her mother. Ella is alone now but she knows how to take care of herself. She may be a stripper now but she has a plan, a plan that involve getting a degree and then a good job. Her plans never included a very rich stranger with 5 handsome but difficult sons. Ella may new lead the life of a rich ‘princess’ but this ‘new’ life is just as hard and brutal as her ‘old’ life. Because Ella doesn’t only have to survive two years in a household filled with 5 boys that hate her but she also have to survive her new high school that is filled with spoiled, rich kids that love nothing more than to hurt the weaker ones. And the fact that Ella is attracted to one of the Royal boys isn’t a good thing either. Can Ella adapt to her new life or will everything explode into her face?
I found ‘Paper princess’ somewhere between a young adult and a new adult story. I really liked it! Once I started it, I couldn’t put it down. The Royal brothers really got under my skin. One moment you want to hate them and the other moment you want to like them. So I can totally understand Ella’s mixed feelings about her ‘new’ family. The story is told from Ella’s POV and it ends with a cliffhanger! I liked Ella very much, she was strong character with a good heart. And Reed, he was the perfect bad boy with many secrets. I was very happy that he wasn’t a playboy like his younger brother Easton.
I’m happy that I started this series.
I love this series! It’s a nice mix of romance, family drama, heartbreak and betrayal. I’ll admit I was reading these at work and I teared up at points (luckily no one caught me!) I already read book 2 and I’m counting down the days until 11/2 for the 3rd one!
I really enjoyed Paper Princess. The storyline revolves around the life of the Royals and Ella Harper. The Royals are filthy rich, have everything their hearts desire at their fingertips, and basically are spoilt and entitled.
What I like about the Paper Princess is how the web of deceit is formed from the start of the book. There are many tunnels of lies and secrets embedded deep in this family.
Ella Harper has never known money, so when Callum Royal (the patriarch of the family) finds her and integrates her into his family, she quickly becomes weary of this somewhat dysfunctional family.
No one wants her around. Ella isn’t particularly keen on them either.
I enjoyed reading the dynamics between the characters.
OH MY GODNESS! This was an amazing read and finishing this book now without having the second one ready to start, I totally feel like on cold turkey…. Once started I was totally hooked. I fell in love with Ella, such a strong girl, where I would have been a broken one already. All characters go so well together and even if you should hate the Royal boys, you just can’t. You sense their hurt from the beginning and there is no chance but sympathising with all of the Royals. The attraction between Ella and Reed jolts through the lines everytime they interact. This book is totally intoxicating, be prepared for a ride I can’t find words for!
Amazing book
I’m a sucker for a romance between two characters that initially can’t stand each other. Paper Princess has this in spades. Secondly, it doesn’t hurt that this book has the “full steam ahead” feel when it comes to the steamy scenes in the book. It kept me up at night waiting to see what would happen next.
Listened to this audiobook and was a little bit underwhelmed. Maybe I set the bar a little too high for it.
The characters were quite flat and didn’t really have any growth through the book. Ella makes me mad with her “I don’t want to like him but I do like him” crap.
The plot like was more interesting then the characters. Most of the story went along semi-predictably, but there were a few parts that surprised me.
Overall this one only gets two stars for me. Still debating if I am going to listen to the other two books in this collection…
I have heard so many great things about this series for a long while now and it’s been on my to be read list for what seems like forever but now I finally had the chance to read it. It definitely was a rollercoaster ride and all of my emotions were all over the place. And that cliffhanger! Damn! I’m just glad I don’t have to wait for the second one to arrive and I can just dive into the next one and read what happens next 🙂
Ella has lost her mother at a young age and is now doing everything in her power to keep a roof over her head, have food on the table and most of all go to school. But one day changes it all and when Callum springs her with the news he’s her guardian, she runs for the hills. But he doesn’t let her go that easily and makes her an offer she can’t refuse. Now she doesn’t need to keep herself afloat as he’s very rich and seems to have it all. But being a widow to 5 children, there is so much more than meets the eye. Ella tends to be by herself and doesn’t really get along with her 5 new brothers. But slowly but surely, she’s breaking down everyone’s walls. Will she finally let her guard down aswell?…
Reese doesn’t want anything to do with Ella the minute she steps foot into his house and he makes sure she knows she’s not welcome into their life. But every step of the way she defies him and his mean exterior cracks a bit the more he gets to know her. But something in his past will come back to haunt him and will turn both their worlds upside down…
Twice now I’ve read this book, and the 5 star rating totally holds up.

I’ve read this book multiple times and will probably read again in the future! It’s one of my all time favorite reads, this series is packed with unexpected twists that keep you on the edge of your seat.
I had previously read this story many years ago and couldn’t remember until I was actually reading the book and honestly I loved reading it again. The book still got my attention, help it and took me for a ride.
Started out good then got carried away with sex (not that I have anything against it, just felt gratuitous). No 17 year old boy could be that experienced at sex or hold off that long. Didn’t like ending.
This is a fantastic book! I absolutely loved it! I loved the storyline, I loved the characters, and I cannot wait for more!
This was NOT a teen book.
The sex scenes were often and fairly graphic, and add to that the fact that the book not only includes but seems to promote high school students to drink, gamble, fight/beat people up, do drugs, and have sex…
And many of the relationships were messed up in an emotionally abusive or controlling way.
And from a character standpoint, I felt that the main girl changed drastically from start to finish, and not in a good way.
I love this entire series! Check them out. I wish these authors would write another book together.
The Paper Princess falls in love with her kind-of-sort-of stepbrother after her guardian Callum rescues from the slums of pauper city.
For fifteen years it was Ella and her mother. When her mother got sick Ella worked to pay the bills. Ella never knew her father she only knew his name was Steve. When she was seventeen Callum Royal claimed guardianship of her.
Callum welcomed Ella into the Royal family with open arms. The other five Royals were skeptical. After all, she grew up poor with a mother who made a living stripping. They judged her based on her upbringing until Ella proved her loyalty.
Ella learned about the man who was her father from numerous conversations with Callum.
Ella was born with a dingy spoon. When Callum welcomed her into the Royal family not everyone was as accepting. People gossiped about her prior stripping job and poor lifestyle status. She accepted the challenges to prove she belonged in the Royal family with her comforting nonjudgmental behavior.
In the beginning, Reed resented Ella and was pissed that his father brought her into the Royal family treating her like a Princess while they were treated differently. Reed was the leader of the brothers so whatever vibe he gave off the others followed. It was Easton who changed Reed’s mind.
Reed has a temper and fast flying fists. He uses violence to protect his family’s name willing to go head to head with anyone who threatens the family.
The Royal family is made up of six men: Callum, Reed, Easton, Gideon, Sebastian, and Sawyer. This is a character driven story. With this many Royals it’s difficult to keep track of everyone’s coming and goings.
This was one of those times when I didn’t feel like the book was age appropriate for all age groups. I’m well beyond my teen years where pranks and gossip seem immature. These characters were petty and judgmental living in gold cages of posh ridiculousness. The concept of the Royals leading the clan of snobs didn’t live up to my expectations. I was interested in Ella’s story needing closure about a father she never met yet just recently heard about. There were a few secrets that kept the progression of the story moving forward, but it wasn’t enough to hold my interest in the long haul.
My biggest book peeve is when authors write every little detail thereby zapping the story of subtext. These details crowded me out of the story making this was one of those on-the-nose narratives where every minute detail was included. There’s too much overwriting with unnecessary details. These details don’t advance the plot. Unfortunately these details bog down the story leaving very little to the imagination of the reader. My second book peeve is too many characters crowding the storyline. On top of having six Royal men the story had tons of girls wanting to bed a Royal. Then mix in all the guys from football and parties bam it was too much.
With these two elements the entire premise was pushed aside. I prefer dialogue driven stories where the concept stays the primary storyline with snippets of mini plots helping to drive the story.
The Paper Princess is book 1 in a 5 book series about the Royal family.
Be aware. There is a cliffhanger ending.
Ooooh how I loved this book! I am sucker for books like this, where heroine moves in with bunch of guys who hate her in the beginning but then one of them falls for her. I also love books where the school is ruled by a group of guys and a new girl comes along. This book has both of these elements, which made it even better!
I love Ella. That girl has some serious balls. Life has not been easy on her but she really made a lemonade out of those lemons. She is really bad ass and I would love to have her for a friend. Val is a lucky girl.
Enter Reed Royal. He is a special cupcake… but I love him all the same. Once you break through his walls, you find out that he is just a big fluffy marshmallow.
This book was honestly so good that I would rather read it than eat dinner (and i love food) because I was so engrossed in this book. A big thank you to Katherine Casady who recommended this book in one of her YouTube videos. I am sure I would come across this book eventually, but she definitely sped up the process!
Its 1 piece in a series but was engaging and kept my interest from start to finish. I stayed up and read it in 1 night! Its a great book.
