This was a decent story, but I was thinking it was more Christmassy. It took place over months, and didn’t even mention the holidays until the end. Not a bad read though.
I received an ARC from the author for Paper Love set in the Windy City of Chicago, includes a pet pigeon and a thousand paper cranes . This inspiring romance novella is included in the boxed set Christmas Pets and Kisses 2 to be released October 11, 2016 and is available for pre-order. The delightful twists and turns keeps the reader’s interest. Will Ben capture Joss’s heart?
Aubrey Wynne is a talented author weaving a descriptive setting, cultural details, historical facts, and inspirational romance into a delightful read. Each chapter in Paper Love begins with a quote. My favorite by Albert Einstein: “You can’t blame gravity for falling in love.”
If you have never visited Chicago, Aubrey Wynne’s description of the Windy City’s Field Museum, Navy Pier with its wheel of awesomeness, Buckingham Fountain and deep dish pizza is spot on. She skillful incorporates the contrast of American culture with the colorful culture of Papua New Guinea.
Joss Palmateer had lived in Papa New Guinea with her family. After her mom’s death, they returned to the states but Joss had not really returned to a happy life. Her boyfriend had cheated on her and she was not going to go through that kind heartbreak again. So, she shut herself off to love. She had taken a job covering a teacher’s maternity leave in the local elementary school and had found a good friend in Becky.
Becky’s brother, Ben, was quite a popular guy. He dated a lot and was handsome and sexy. He was bowled over by Joss but she didn’t want anything to do with him. She wasn’t going to be played again. So, she didn’t really give him the time of day. He was enamored with her strength and beauty and strong character and was determined to win her heart. So, he set about to change her mind about him. He used origami and a stray pigeon in his quest to win Joss’s love.
This is a sweet story of friendship, love, and good old-fashioned romance. It is a fast read and something you can finish in just a couple of hours. The pace is fast but I enjoyed it.
i was given a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

She teacher for third graders and her best friend Becky comes from a lager family and her big brother Ben is now living here also. Ben works on a way to get her separate to understand who he is. Read how it comes out you love it.
My review is for Paper Love by Aubrey Wynne. I enjoyed reading this from beginning to end. This book makes the reader feel what Joss is feeling. She decided to leave her hometown and flee the the US so dealing with that, the loss of her mom, and being cheated on she has no desire to find a love interest.
Ben is the brother of Becky and once Ben and Joss meet each other there is chemistry there. Will Joss let her guard down and give Ben a chance? Does she even stand a chance to keep her heart locked away when he breaks out the origami?
I thought this was a great, quick read with characters you can relate to and root for. Looking forward to more by this author since this was my first read by her.
Askew Ever After A Limited Edition Romance Collection (Paper Love by Aubrey Wynne) is a lovely short romance story. The whole story has your heart throbbing waiting to see what would happen next between the characters.
Askew Ever After does have a love story for everyone. After I finished reading this one I went straight to look at the rest of the collection. I can’t wait to read more of these short love stories. I could not put this book down it was an adorable romance that just filled you up.
I have never loved a love story so much. I ended up rereading it.
‘Paper Love’ by Aubrey Wynne is a sweet and heartwarming romance which had me happily turning the pages hoping that Joss and Ben would get their happily ever after. Love is the last thing on Joss Palmateer‘s mind following the sudden death of her mother. Joss is a shy and gentle women who grew up in a Papua New Guinea mission and as well as the death of her mother she’s getting over an ex boyfriend’s betrayal and a house move. So when Joss is introduced to her friends brother, Ben at a party although the attraction is instant she politely declines his offer of a date. However physical therapist Ben Montgomery is determined that Joss will not ignore his advances for long and although usually known as a player, Ben finds himself falling in love with Joss. With the aid of a stray homing pigeon and an old origami legend Ben does all he can to win her love. This is a fairly short read but one which has a real feel good factor. I liked how the author has included an explanation about the importance of the origami at the beginning of the book. I loved Joss and Ben who were both likeable and relatable characters and they were really bought to life by the descriptive narrative. Their chemistry also really came across in the story as did Joss’s trepidation at risking her heart for love. A lovely, enjoyable and engaging read.
Christmas in Chicago with Ben and Joss is the perfect holiday! Joss is new to town, a little shy and definitely not Ben’s normal type. But there is something about her that he is attracted to. Could it be that she denies his advances? Taking the challenge, he is going to try and win her heart. From ferris wheels to accidents to learning to speak snake languages, this is a sweet an endearing story. Narrated by Sara K. Sheckells, the story is beautifully told and an enjoyable listen.
I enjoy this book from beginning to the end. The characters are well developed and engaging and the chemistry is strong. The storyline flowed smoothly from the beginning to the end.

I loved this book. It was funny, sad, and entertaining. Joss Palmateer and her sister lost their mom and nothing was the same again. As she was grieving, her boyfriend was cheating on her. When Ben Montgomery came into her life, it was love at first site. It;s not a long book, but there is a lot of information in it.

Book two in the A Chicago Christmas series a well written story that I enjoyed reading from the first to the last page. Joss Palmateer and Ben Montgomery’s story is a sweet Christmas romance that just keeps you turning pages. I want to read the next book. How could you not fall in love with this sweet romance? Joss and her family has returned to the US. But Joss has a hard time making new friends and living her life, especially after her mother dies.
Ben has recently returned home and hosts a monthly mixer for singles so that he reconnect with people he knows and also to meet new people. He’s used to charming women and being able to date whoever he wants – until he meets Joss. Seems she’s skittish about dating and Ben makes it his mission to get her to go out with him, even trying to enlist his sister to help him. However, she doesn’t want to jeopardize her friendship.
It was heartwarming how Ben was willing to do what it would take to get Joss to date him, especially after he comes to the realization that his feelings for her are more than just a passing fancy. And then there’s the fact that much of this story is based on real life.
What a sweet love story of Joss and Ben. The story of the thousand paper cranes and a wish just made it extra special. I hope there are more stories in this large family to look forward to.

Balm for the Romance Reader’s Soul
This author is talented and writes both historical and contemporary romance. In her historical romances, I have appreciated her attention to historical detail that doesn’t seem like it weighs down the story. I haven’t read as many of her contemporary romances. In fact, this might be the first one. It’s hard to describe this one. If you’ve read very angsty romances lately, this one might be balm for your reader’s soul. It’s sweet, in all the ways that word implies when talking about romance, and gentle. The hero is all that you would want him to be: persistent in his pursuit but still kind and gentlemanly. The heroine has a strength that is only slowly revealed; she has a complicated past. I particularly loved the little moments where the heroine connected with her spiritual side; the pivotal moment when she senses her mother is breathtaking. It’s a romance, so it’s not really a spoiler to say that this has an HEA, but the proposal is stunning. When I got to the end, I was intrigued by the author’s note, where she stated that much of the book was based in fact. I think that makes a story even more of a delight. A lovely little romance.
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
Such an exciting story. I have a close friend who grew up a missionary in PNG and for a while I thought I was being called there. Hence, this storyline backdrop really drew me in. Not that it was needed, as the characters and the flow started right off the bat and I was lost in the story. I’ve read quite a few romance books to review for authors lately and none have sucked me in like this one did. I was caught in its riptide, a movie of the scenes playing in my mind. The perfect romance. Sweet and clean, holiday, Christian, and the adventure of life.

This is a nice clean romance. Joss has had her heart broken from a guy and her mother passed away recently. She has been the glue holding the family together. She resists the attraction of Ben who seems to be so popular. But the attraction between the two exist. Reading the steps he goes through to woo her makes for a very pleasant easy to read book.

This is a wonderful, soft, gentle love story; no coarse language, no blatant, raw, over the top sex scenes.
You have to like the main male character, Ben, for how in the world can a fella with a special friendship with a pigeon named Charlie be bad.

Aubrey Wynne, Paper Love #2 – Another romance set in Chicago with two delightful characters and a bunch of supporting characters. Well written and with good storylines, this is a quickly read story that holds the reader’s interest until the last page. It’s great to see an American in wonder about what she finds in the States after living elsewhere and being shaped by another world.
He’s a sweet, considerate, young man that sets out to capture her skittish heart. I love her Dad and his humor, and the pigeon. It is nice to read a clean book that still shows the sexual tension between two people in their developing relationship without all the trash of hotness, body parts, etc. I contacted the author to review her books and received this book through Booksprout. 4*
Dante’s Gift #1 – I thoroughly enjoyed this story. Well written with a conversational style, this interesting story blended the past with the present creating a heartwarming, loving feeling. The characters are funny, likable and realistic, along with their dialog. The storylines meshed together immersing the reader and too quickly the end appeared. A quickly read, relaxing book. Clean with no profanity. Needs minor editing. 4*
Aubrey Wynne, For the Love of Laura Beth #4 – I absolutely love Ms. Wynne’s books and this is my favorite of the one I have read. Life before, during and after the Korean War, and the lives of the families of the bride and groom living and suffering through this period of time. The storylines are interesting, while the characters just tug at your heart and you want to know what happens next. There is sadness, joy and a gamut of emotions that keep you from putting the book down. The vivid descriptions let you be there with all the characters and the events. Even everyday life isn’t boring. There’s no profanity, explicit sex or violence, but a great understanding of what everyone faces and faced. This is not a book to speed read but to savor each page. I couldn’t stop reading. I contacted the author to review her books and receive this book through Booksprout. 5*
