Just finished Paper and Fire by Rachel Caine Book 2 in The Great Library Series…anxiously awaiting Book 3!
Hooray, a second novel that’s as good as the first!! Honestly, I’d been starting to lose faith in the trilogy – so many that I’ve read lately have started out brilliantly but then fizzled, such that I’ve only finished reading to see how that brilliant start played out… Not so this series. I’m not quite half way through, but so far this one is as full of action and surprises as the first. The characters have remained true and the adventure and secrets are still thick on the ground…
I liked the first book in this series. I loved this one. Great second book!
This is a second book of Rachel Caine’s The Great Library series and it’s just as fantastic as the first. The entire series is worth reading!!
Another great book from Rachel Caine!
This series is a very high energy, action packed series that’s got a dystopian feel to it. What would the world have been like, had the Library of Alexandria never burned?
On a rescue mission, the characters from book one travel to different places in search of a friend and then in search of a way to end the control of the Library.
I enjoy how we got to see more of Wolfe’s mother in this story. I also like how Morgan came back into play and the chemistry between her and Jess. I was truly disappointed in Dario.
Basically, these characters have jumped into my life and now I am concerned for them and eager to see how their journey plays out. I’m ready to move on to book 3! If you enjoy books about books, books with alchemy, or dystopian books, you will likely love this series.
This series is SO completely different from any I’ve read so far. And NOW I HAVE TO WAIT FOR THE NEXT ONE!!! This is the 2nd of the series, so if you’re just starting out, you need to go back and read the first one. Jess is a soldier in the High Garda for the Library, working to protect the library, and at the same time, his job is to suppress original books from the hands of the people. But having come from a criminal family of runners, (those who search out original books and trade or sell them), he still works to get his hands on original books. In this book, he and his friends are trying to locate a friend who was arrested for Heresy. For going against the Library and creating a device that would give knowledge to everyone freely. This series had me almost yelling at the book for Jess to run at times (even knowing he couldn’t hear me). The attention to detail in this book does not take away from the action, in fact it gives the reader a more involved front seat to every chapter.
Paper and Fire is the second installment in author Rachel Caine’s The Great Library series. Paper and Fire picks up six months after the end of Ink and Bone. As a sort of summary, The Great Library of Alexandria exists in this alternative world. It exists to “contain the knowledge of the world in the name of the greater good.” This is a world where possessing real honest to goodness books is a serious crime.
