Four years ago, Pam’s divorce devastated her. The cruelty of her ex husband crushed her spirit. After battling personal demons, she’s finally made a life for herself. Now remarried, raising her kids, working at a job she loves, the scars of Alan Archer’s emotional abuse are beginning to fade. Her newfound happiness turns to bitterness when Alan returns to Garfield. Confronted with a wall of pain … pain she thought she’d buried, Pam must learn that secrets and carefully cultivated indifference do not equal forgiveness.
Alan Archer has returned to Garfield with a new wife, a fresh commitment to God, and a terminal heart condition. His mission? To leave a Christian legacy for his children and to gain Pam’s forgiveness for the sins of his past.
Two hearts hang in the balance waiting for the delicate touch of God’s healing hands.

Captivating
We all have problems and need to share with our good friends so we can pray together.
What an emotional roller-coaster ride this book was! Sharon Srock dares to take on the difficult and heart-wrenching situations that would make you question God, your faith, your friends and even your family. This book confronts the very real struggle to truly forgive someone who has subjected you to emotional abuse, adultery, and the annihilation of the happy home Pam thought she had. The journey to complete healing seemed impossible and no one seemed to understand. These characters are developed so well that feel like real people instead of characters in a book and you find yourself not only wanting to pray for them but to pray with them! Please invest in a box of tissues before reading this book!
This book has been the hardest to read so far. While I’ve not been a victim of abuse, it’s hard to read stories where the characters are. I still give it 5 stars because it’s such a good story. I still have questions about Patrick and Sam!! Great job again Sharon!!Sharon Srock
Forgiveness
I haven’t cried this much in awhile. This story told so much more about Pam and what she experienced. And she drew her strength from God, her family and her close friends.
I like the authors style of writing. It’s very engaging and hard to put down. I love the characters and reading about what happens to them. Pam is divorced and happily married once again until her ex and his new wife come back to town. Keep reading to find out why he is desparate to make amends and why Pam is paralyzed by her painful memories. This is the best Christian fiction I have read since the Sister Chick series. After reading Pam, I ordered the entire set of The Women of Valley View. I’ve finished reading the Wonen of Valley View and have started on Sharon Srocks next series.
Very good book.
Another interesting character from the series. I enjoyed and it was very easy to read!
A great book about forgiveness.
You can really feel what each of the characters are going through in this book. At times painful for anybody who’s ever gone through a divorce, but the need for forgiveness is very evident. Definitely worth reading.
This book was different, not what you would expect.I found it hard to put down, wondered what she would do,how much she could live with.I really loved the book, the ending was perfect.
This was an excellently written book taking a realistic look at an easy-to-mouth but hard-to-really-do subject. Totally believable actions and reactions — enough so that I got emotionally involved with the outcome. I have enjoyed all the books that I’ve read in this series, and intend to read more.
Good ending
A really emotional story for me. Would love to read every book she has written now of course. The author has woven so many lessons into her story, and I loved them all. God does have a sense of humor!
This book is kinda sad, I have only read it twice. But I haven’t read the rest of the series yet, so can’t wait!!!!!!
A tear jerker!
I enjoyed the whole series. Very good books. I got one free and bought the rest.
I felt that I could relate to how Pam felt she had to protect herself from any contact with her ex-husband. I had a wonderful relationship that lasted 53 years.
Stopped reading. Thought it was trite.
Really inspiring
