for people who can face the dark side of life, this set of books has so much going on & so many people to keep track of. I was saddened by the ending and find myself wanting to read the rest of the series. Sometimes I had to put the book down because I got so involved emotionally with the characters from pity and sympathy, to anger and disgust.
This is an enjoyable and well written set of books. I was entertained by the drama, interactions between the characters, and all the secrets and lies, kept me engrossed and flipping the pages until the end. I recommend you read it for yourself.

This is a pretty twisted series. However, very easy to get hooked. Wish more of the series was in the set.
This was a good boxset. I thought all the stories were good. I like that is a continuing saga. I am not a huge fan of “episode” books but this set is good. I am sure I am going to read the other books in the series as well. It has a lot of ups and downs, surprises, twists, and turns and that keeps you involved in the story. I am sure others are sure to enjoy this series.

Great stories .. family saga for those who love to read about family love, politics, gossip, intrigue, affairs and what not…
love this series
I think this is probably a pretty polarizing series. It is more a series of interconnected anecdotes and episodes than a coherent narrative. Character driven, with ever expanding circles of people affected by Jack’s depravity. The writing style is stream of consciousness and none of the books really seem to have a definite story arc, they just meander through time and characters and convoluted plot twists.
Story line was sad but very realistic in today’s society!
A very interesting story, very different story that I usually read. A bit slow going in some places but the story is both heartbreaking and inspiring. It’s a long read as it is a combination of several books but I enjoyed it and would recommend reading it if you have the time.
Interesting characters and story
Author truly brought characters to life even perverted ones. I had a hard time putting her book down.
Seemed to go on forever with twists but it was never revealed how she was able to support everyone. Several times I wanted to quit reading but it drew me back in. Ending is sad.
I cried often and really feel for Pam.
Characters are pretty unrealistic, and the series seems almost pointlessly long
Exciting, easy read. How to authors come up with these ideas?! There were things in these books that I didn’t see coming.
Did not like this series, very boring
Characters are not terribly sympathetic, and the huge crisis in the book is treated as not as devastating as reality might be. While I have admiration for the humanization of those carrying this virus, I was also missing their humanity. The characters were just not sympathetic, more like stepford wives. Class, sexuality, rape, incest, HIV are all subjects of import, but shallow characters left me speedreading to the next reveal.
Wow, I loved it! Best book set ever
It’s full of bad language!
I couldn’t get interested in it and the spelling mistakes were distracting.
