A helpful book presenting alternative methods to alleviate minor to serious body aches and pains without prescriptions or potential surgery solutions as a first option. One can read a selected number of chapters which relate to the reader best to save time and keep the most relevant information closest to their interests.
Using this book I was able to clear up the pain that ran from my neck down my arm, making it useless and creating intense suffering. Using the information provided, I was also able to research yoga poses that resolve my sciatic pain. Great book — and I absolutely agree with his opinion that such intense muscle pain comes from non-use or misuse of the body.
If you are dealing with chronic, this book deals with determining the cause of the pain, not the symptoms and offers alternates to medications for relieving the pain. No strenuous exercises. Just stationary positions to all the muscle memory to return to its original state
A great how to book on correcting problems that are the result of poor posture and inflexibility. The pictures need to be updated but they do demonstrate on how to correct problems that cause pain. My problem is achilles tendonitis. I was examined by a sports medicine surgeon. His solution included cutting the achilles tendon from my heal, cutting the heal bone down and reattaching the tendon via a stainless steel screw to the heel bone after it heals. He predicted, if everything goes OK, that I would be back running in about a year. I didn’t like the “if everything goes OK” part.. I have been doing the simple (4) exercises on correcting achilles tendonitis in the book. The pain is gone. I do not plan on getting the surgery.
Reading this book and putting its recommendations into practice has reduced my joint and muscle pain and improved my quality of life. I highly recommend it for anyone who struggles with chronic pain.
Amazing
Best physical therapy book out there. Tons of YouTube video support, too
I bought this for my Kindle. Reading the book is fine on the kindle, but when it comes to the exercises it is hard to move back and forth through the pages because there are no page numbers. As I add exercises I must go back to the new ones again to make sure I am doing them correctly. I was traveling a lot recently and found it hard to add new exercises, found it hard to do the exercises consistently because of the travel, and by the time I got back to a regular schedule I had to look up the old exercises again so I could do the right. I think I would much rather have a real book that I could put sticky tabs on to find the pages I wanted faster. I would recommend the book. Doing the exercises has helped alleviate the pain I have been in and hopefully they are helping to strengthen my muscles to align my body better and keep the pain away.
Some stretching techniques designed to ease joint pain. They work very well and perhaps not included on other stretching literature
Love this book and really helped with my back & hip pain
Everything I read in this book makes total sense. I have concentrated on my problem areas only (back, neck and knees) and find the advice extremely useful. As a former active sports enthusiast, I see improvement all the time. I may never quite make it back to what I was, but there will certainly be great improvement. I feel I will be getting a lot of my former life back. What a joy!
This book is an answer for me to my fibromyalgia, and spinal injury from an auto accident 8 years ago. I have tried a few different exercise books, but this one works my joints and tight muscles well enough to give me energy back and sleep well at night. I haven’t been able to do that since the accident.
The exercises in this book have kept me out of back surgery for 21 years (I have a herniated disc and bulging discs)! They are life savers! These are not your standard physical therapy excercises. Pete Egoscue who is an anatomical physiologist, explains very well why a lot of surgeries often don’t permanently fix a problem (addressing the effect and not the cause.) It’s all about getting your load bearing joints in correct alignment and re-educating your muscles about the jobs they were designed and not designed to do. I’ve owned the paperback version of this book for 21 years and refer to it as needed. It was a no-brained to also get a digital copy for $2!
The easy exercises in this book are awesome! If I stay consistent in doing the exercises I never experience pain in my knees or lower back anymore! Easy to read and follow.
This book can help you treat pain if done consistently.
The information contained in the book is helpful and informative; unfortunately, the writing style made it difficult to hold concentration on what was written.
Some good basic information.
Toooo detailed
It was pretty good. A lot of simple stretches that can serve as an alternative to physical therapy.
