I’m not looking for love. I’ve got priorities, and my music career is at the top of the list. I’ve got lots of time to let love sweep me off my feet later. Then, thanks to reports of rats at the recording studio, I meet Calina, and everything changes. She’s strong, sassy, and so damned gorgeous that it’s hard to keep my hands off her. But Calina’s got a problem — a big one — that I never see … — that I never see coming. She’s trapped and she’s looking for a way out.
The only question is if I’m ready to be her hero . . .
Pax and Calina’s standalone story in the Once Upon a Happily Ever After series is very loosely inspired by the story of the Pied Piper and features:
• a modern marriage of convenience
• sexy new adult love
• billionaire romance
• a saucy AF little sister
• rats! (maybe . . .)
The Once Upon a H.E.A. series is what happens when folktales and contemporary romance meet, fall madly in love, and have lots of little book babies. No cheating, no cliffhangers, and only consensual shenanigans await. Happily ever after guaranteed!

This was a wonderful quick read! I really enjoyed Pax and Calina’s story and how their connection to each other was strong. I have to agree with Pax, “there was only one rat” but at least said rat was able to change for the better. If you like quick, funny and insta-love books then I would highly recommend this book to you! I can’t wait for the rest of the series to come out.

Rats, rats everywhere but there is only one that causes the biggest problems
PAID is the second book in the Once Upon a Happily Ever After series by Poppy Parkes. Each book is based on a different fairy-tale/folktale. This is the story of Pax and Calina who are both likable characters. This story-line is sweet, fast-paced, insta-love, drama and sexy all wrapped together in an interesting and well written book.
I look forward to reading the next in this series.
I received a copy of this book for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
Paid is book two of the Once Upon a HEA series and is an insta love, short read with a sweet HEA. Calina and Pax are likable characters and are great for each other. This is a well written story and I look forward to reading the next book in the series.
This is book two in the Once Upon a Happily Ever After series. Meet Pax and Calina with a slight twist of the Pied Piper fairytale. Pax is a musician and Calina is the Music Studio”s daughter. Calina a d her father, Major, do not get along. In fact, Calina is determined to bid her time a little longer, get married, claim her inheritance and her little sister, and be free of him. Pax is focused on his music, not finding his true love but when he meets Calina, all that changes. This is a fast paced story of finding a sweet HEA.but also of healing a family dynamic. I enjoyed this story and look forward to more fairytale twists in this series.

This is an instant love, fast HEA. Carina and Pax are likable, as is the sister. It’s a sweet story, however it’s really fast and things get resolved at the end way too easily after all the problems a certain person posed. That being said, it was still a good book with a sweet HEA.

Was it love at first sight? Could be but the chemistry between Pax and Calina felt organic. Even though she might have seemed crazy to him at one point, I love how he steps up. This is a cute, sexy, and short story that also shows you to stand up for yourself.

Sweet storyline with a new take on a fairytale. Good character development, with a fun and flirty style of writing. Enjoyed how the epilogue gave a great ending to this piped piper tale.
I am voluntarily leaving a review for this book that I received free.
Good romance
The romance is good, with a fairly simple story that describes the feelings of a thunderbolt, but with characters who keep their feet on the ground and who recognize the slightly crazy side of the power of their attraction, sometimes even, unreasonable of their decisions.
Pax negotiates with the owner of a recording studio for free hours. In exchange, the owner asked him to get rid of rats. He is interrupted by Calina. He doesn’t know she’s the owner’s daughter. But she is trapped in the golden cage created by her father and she has concocted a plan to get out of it, which includes recovering her trust fund placed and blocked on the condition of marrying someone in the world of music.
Despite a very strong attraction, they find themselves in an uncomfortable situation between Pax’s career, pressure and threats from Calina’s father.
